holy crap this was a lost memory i didn't even realize i had forgotten!!!! I was aroun 4--6 when i watched this show... i never realized how much shows like this shape ones personality. 🤪
SAME!!! I had to dust off the cobwebs in the catacombs of my memory when this popped up because I couldn’t believe I remembered it so vividly after forgetting its existence since I was watching it on TV
@DuckmanYaHeard ok ok mayhe itvwas awful....I'll admit that...but do you have ANY idea what it its like to cling to what fragile fragments of memory your mind has left with slippery blood clovered...hands?
Another lost Nickelodeon gem from the '90s. Weinerville was da show that definitely rocked my world. It was a little weird and gross but I watched it anyway.
Danel Lo Gris,According to Weinerville host & creator, Marc Weiner, the reason of the cancellation of Weinerville was Nickelodeon had changed their identity from family friendly to edgy, sarcastic and well,subversive(adjective- seeking or intended to subvert an established system or institution. A puppet show,in Nickelodeon's POV, did not fit with the network's direction of programming, but they did show reruns of Weinerville until June 30th,1997 after the cancellations of Weinerville. The show became very successful with the success of the promotions, hosting 2 seasons, 3 television specials,& hosting a four-hour New Year's special for two years. Just a little brief factoid regarding Weinerville.
what was it like?? was it as fun as it looks, or were you sitting around a lot bored? i'm genuinely curious, i've never been a part of a live studio audience, that's so neato
Yep, I remember seeing this as a kid. By early 1996 (by which time I was seven years old), the only cartoons left on the series were "Batfink" reruns, but I still watched it.
I just realized that I think the differences between my wife and I can be explained that she watched the Disney Channel growing up and I watched Nickelodeon and shows like this.
Weinerville on Nickelodeon: July 7, 1993-June 30, 1997. BTW, series star, Marc Weiner was a celebrity panelist on the 1st season of "Figure It Out", the final game show Nick ever made, despite "Weinerville" dropped from its schedule!
Actually “Brain Surge” was the final gameshow nick made but it’s not as well known. I remember figure it out and remember Marc Weiner being on it. I also remember the cast members from “pete & pete” hosting that show or least being on it as contestants.
Im noticing that every puppets hand are actually those novelty hand keychains from the 80s and you could bend the fingers due to the wires in em they musta been giving em away in the 90s.
Its crazy looking at those kids in the crowd, realizing that they are in their early 40s or approaching it. I was 6 years old around this time and will be 38 in march. Times sure does fly. 😢😂
By mid to late 1996 (by which I was nine going on ten years old, the only 3 cartoons left on Weinerville were Batfink, The Alvin Show and Courageous Cat and Minute Mouse, and by late 1996 to early 1997 (by which I was ten years old, the only cartoons left on Weinerville were Batfink reruns, but I still watched it, at which time, it was on early Weekday mornings and Saturday afternoons.
Nostalgia more like long repressed memories for me me this show was on when I was so young it's been haunting me like a fever dream you get when you eat some bad seafood
It's not so sad that the show don't have the rights to the UPA/Columbia cartoon shorts anymore, so no Mister Magoo, Honey Halfwitch, Courageous Cat & Minute Mouse, Batfink, et al. Ditto for the Alvin Show repeats...though since they have the new series...Alvinnn!!! and the Chipmunks????? Anyway, this would mean rerunning Weinerville would be akin to what happened to Cartoon Planet later on. I wish Nickelodeon would go back in time and bring back Weinerville from recorded VHS tapes.
And to think, the host and star of this show went on to voice Map and Swiper the Fox on Dora The Explorer years later.. though his work is better remembered for Nick fans who watched in the 1990s.
25:49 My CBS voiceover: Roy Rowan: Later today on You Can't Do That on Television, the gang try to come up with a merchandising plan to keep the show on the air, and finally decide on marketing Green Slime, despite their disdain for having it dumped on them. Now stay tuned for the M&M's of game shows, Marc Summers and Mike O'Malley, starting with the show with one question, Do You Have It, Nickelodeon GUTS, next.
Was Weinerization a permanent process, would the audience members eventually return to their normal sizes, or did they have to be un-Weinerized? And did Mark himself build that infernal machine? Anyone that knows please answer.
A fun and weird show, yet criminally underrated.
Have you seen Steampipe Alley on WWOR-9 New York? Same concept.
What a hard childhood to let go. Nick kid 4life.!!!
The 90s were extremely creative
*creepy
Before 1995 when things started going downhill.
@@andrewguerra9343 nah 96-00 were just as great

Wild right
I never realized as a kid that that dude played all the characters.
same here!
Same lol
lol how??
My dad hated tf out of this show...but I watched it anyway 😂😂😂
What’s not to like?? Puppets, humor that’s mostly clean but has at least some innuendo that adults can appreciate? This show was gold!
Because he's no Howdy Doody.
Same
Whyd he hate it?
That's like the funniest thing LOL just goes to show you how entertaining it was. This was my jam
I used to watch this show every morning before school 😂
Mark Weiner and Marc Summers were the best!
This was the single most underrated show that Nickelodeon ever produced. Classic!
Out of all things today, this is what crosses my mind

the most frustrating thing. YOU KNOW YOU KNOW!

@@Electronick7714 Oh yea- I believe it came on Saturdays at noon central time
I KNOW!!! There hasn't been a single person I've brought this up to who has ever remembered!!!
@@MrCalverino I watched tv on weekends a lot as a kid and this still eludes me
This and Beakman’s World were my childhood 😂 and then obviously cartoons
Can't forget bill Nye the science guy
When I was a kid I legit thought the wienerizer machine was real and they were stuck that way forever.
Me too!
It was way too weird
I thought it was real but they went back to normal
That’s why I never wanted to go on the show

@@adeliaklemas2602 That's weird because weinerville seems pretty edgy to me (Such as Wendy my little Earth wench)
Everything about this show used to freak me out. Now I find it really endearing.
Went to see this live at the Keswick Theater near Philly when I was a kid!
I saw it in Vernon, NJ and got on stage and played "That's Not Fair".

Always thought this was in universal studios 😂😂😂😂
"Wilson! You delirious space hippie."
Omgggg most potent memory was the people being transformed in the booths
The parallel universe episode was my favourite! Thank you so much for putting it up! Boney waiting for Godot still cracks me up so much:'D

Did you mean the final game show filmed at Nick studios? Bc Nick still makes game shows, they just don’t do it as often.
I used to watch this show RELIGIOUSLY in the 90s, omg
I didn’t see that show for decades. I loved that show in the 90s
The voice of Map, Fiesta Trio & Swiper from Dora the Explorer gets excited on the 1990's Nickelodeon late night show Weinerville
Mark and Brendan Fraser could play brothers in a movie...they almost look alike.
Im noticing that every puppets hand are actually those novelty hand keychains from the 80s and you could bend the fingers due to the wires in em they musta been giving em away in the 90s.
Oh my God yes!!!! Everyone had these, the "feminine" the finger nails were nasty lol they were long with pink/red polish on them 😂 😂 😂

This show was so weird
Weird but funny.
A memory brought me here…
Core memory unlocked. Holy hell
I thought I imagined this show because no one else remembers it.
This takes me back.
Same with me.
We were already talking about the multiverse in puppet form back in the mid 90s. . .
This show was hella weird but us 90s kids loved it!! Nickelodeon needs to go back to they prime and take notes.
Did you know Commander Ozone was a guest on Space Ghost Coast to Coast
Ack! Right in the nostalgia! XD
Nostalgia more like long repressed memories for me me this show was on when I was so young it's been haunting me like a fever dream you get when you eat some bad seafood
I definitely watched this religiously and it definitely shaped my personality a bit 😩

My wife is absolutely terrified of this series
lol its even better 28 years later
Anyone remember round house and you can’t do that on television
Thanks for the reminder
I’m so old 🥺
You're not the only one who feels that way.
Without Mark Weiner they're probably wouldn't have been any slime
3:57 okay cool we zoomed in on the poor kid who was in sensory overload 😂

I will forever be on board with the concept of a reboot for this show starring Jerry Trainor.
I always thought this was Jon Stewart. Wow... I was a stupid child.

This show was bizzare. The prizes were silver and gold weiners.
Bizzare, but funny.
I remember weinerville . Only saw one episode of it but I still remember it
Do you have any cartoons from these episodes? Especially the 60's The Alvin Show, Clyde Crashup, Courageous Cat & Minute Mouse and Batfink?
1:05 To quote Kevin Shinick, “Oh no, we’re being pulled into a parallel univerrrrrrse!”
The quality is remarkable
