Most of the foundation brands are western. They only make shades for pinkish whites, very fair people with cool undertones or African/American blacks. Very few brands have yellow based or brownish tints. Even if they have they have very few options. In India, fair skin means 5 to 6 shades, there are whitish fair people, yellowish fair people and wheat ish fair people. Same with the medium skin tones. There are multiple skin tones with slight variation. And the imported brands will not bother to make all these variations. I have noticed this with eye shadow pallettes also. Most of them have very fair whitish base colors. And the darkest will be a medium brown. How will it show on Indian skin? And I see many Indian women buy these expensive eye shadows and try to make them work. Whereas they won't even be using most of the shades. Why isn't anyone in India making good quality makeup for us. We are many in number.
