Falkirk Model Railway Exhibition 2023 - Part 3

- This busy show was held at the Grangemouth Athletic Stadium, near Falkirk. As per recent trips the weather was really poor with heavy rain all day! An excellent free glossy booklet was provided which included full details of all layouts and an exhibitor plan.
The hall was expertly laid out with model railway layouts in the centre and traders and organisations around the outside. In total there were 16 layouts we have not seen before.
The show was organised by the Falkirk Model Railway Club.
For layouts we have featured in earlier videos we try to concentrate on new features and/or different rolling stock if possible.
This video comprises four parts and we visited Grangemouth on 18th November 2023.

Lovely scenery, fine trains and great locomotives!!!! What more could a model railway enthusiast want?!!
My thoughts exactly
Nice to see the third part of a great show.
I'm sure you'll love part 4 too!
Although I’m not a diesel enthusiast, I can appreciate and understand the historical significance of diesel locomotives. My favourite diesel so far is the Class 25.
Possil Halt is certainly a great little layout!! But for me, it’s the Southern Railway of wartime that I love!! I have three steam locomotives fitted with sound chips and reasonable speakers!!
It really is a fun layout to watch as although it's quite small the background lighting and hillside buildings are really interesting. Also good to see a night time layout.
Dear old Class 25!! Complete with a good sound chip, too!!
It's great when you can hear the engines over the noise of the crowds!
My top favourite layout in the third part of this model railway exhibition is the St Andrews & Guardbridge OO Gauge layout because of the steam hauled passenger trains!
I love that layout too. You can actually see on Google maps some of the buildings surrounding the site of the station that are still there. It also has a hidden loop of track in the middle so that trains heading over the viaduct dont just appear at the station immediately, but vanish for a short period. Everyone is hoping this line will be the next to be restored so fingers crossed.
