- Apparently they sound like s*it according to one youtuber who is a freind with somebody who is designing pultec style eq and the youtuber also stays and work with a guy who in the history where endorsed in one way or another with original pulteq and now have six of them. And the youtuber dont get paid, Well at least not by any other company than UA-cam.
They sound so bad that i only bought 4 of them.....
Running a stereo mix unmastered thru two Klark Teknik EQP-KT
Every 20 second it's either bypassed or on.
No limiter, compression or anything else on the master just the EQP-KT.
this is shocking how beautiful the klarks sound
i agree. I like them so much that i got four of them now!
Wow, it sounds so sparkly on the high end and really glues together the low end. And that’s even hearing it through UA-cam. Gotta get me a pair of these.👍🏼👍🏼
Yes, you really should!
Loved them every time ive used them.
man these EQs sound incredible. I can easily tell when the EQ is on vs off, the difference isn't subtle at all.
I know i love them. I got four of them now! 😊
Even if they don't sound exactly like the "vintage originals" the museum collector gearsnob is jealous that we can now do the same job at a fraction of the price. I've got all those klark units twice now and they're just amazing....a big step up.
100% agree!
It sounds so full, warm and has so much body when the EQPs are engaged. It definetely makes the mix sound very warm analogish with lots of presence. I'm definetely getting two of these and side chaining them. Thanks!
Yes! You should really get a couple of them. They are awsome! Just got the kt2a and it is also great!
I like what the KTs are doing. Adds tube mids and low mid dynamic. Fuller tone is nice.
Yeah they are great!
I'd like to add that this is a great song!
I did not wrote it but I agree 100%
Wow! I just ordered 2 of these yesterday. I heard other reviews, and it sounded good on those, but this review is getting me very excited to see them! Thanks for posting!
Hey great to hear. IM sure you Will be happy!
How did eq work out
@@beatprocess To be honest, they are good for the price, however, after some upgrades (tubes, etc) they are now a very usable eq. They are not Pulteqs by any means, but they do a similar thing and don't sound bad (after the upgrades).
Dude a year on from this video being posted, stunning I hope these guys send you four of these for free
Thanks! Sense this video was posted I got two more so now I got four of them and I really love them. Though I could sure use a couple of more. #klarkteknik make it happen!

Yes they really do! Cant wait to use them in a full production from start!

Thanks for this video, seems that KlarkTeknik gets S*it because involvment by Behringer, I got 2 KT-76 so far from KlarkTeknik and i love them,..so i am eyeballing the EQP-KT and soon to purchase 2 of them,...used a lot of Behringer studiogear since 1998 and Behringer always has been good to me,...Thanks for this video nice song BTW,...Love cheers💚🎹 🎸
You wont regret buying the EQ. I got 4 of them! 🤗
They do sound good. One has arrived, ordering another soon. Thanks for this, it was useful. Made the music sound 3D.
Good for you! I love them!
wow bro. It is insane. I was thinking im going to have to focus hard to hear them; but not at all. Once it went on.....it is something totally different

Great video thanks these pultecs really bring this track to life. 👍
Thanks! Yeah they are really great!
Im sold! Im going to have to buy a pair of these. Sounds really great.
Great! Im sure you will love them as much as i do!
Dude! They sound freaking decent for the money! I wonder how much of a difference (for good) is if you change stock valves and transformers for considerably better ones. Thanks so much! Definitely getting them ASAP. Loved the song by the way
Thanks! Yeah i love them. Dont think change of valves and transformes will make that big of a diffrent. Even if we take out the price range out of the equation they sound great. Thats why i got for of them! 😊
@@Kenneth-F i will do some comparisons - i will do the valve change and i will change transformer from midas to carnhill. - i have at least 10 differnt valves to test.. if klark uses the tubes the right way, any changing of the tubes has to have a real impact on the sound.
@@finetoneaudio6197 you do that! How ever change the tubes will not do hardly anything. Change the transformer though would be great to hear.

i think the sales numbers speaks for it self! They are just great. I got four and could use a couple of moore. 😊

I dont remember the name of song or the artist but i downloaded it at www.cambridge-mt.com/ms/mtk/ No body knocked them until that guy started basching them. I got four of them and im real happy with them. I think the number of sold units speak for it self. 😊
the klark teknik 1176 is on sale for $150!!!!! sweetwater blowing em out
You should get it!
This is a great demo thanks. I think it sounds great I don’t think you can go wrong for the money. I was going to save up for some warm audio pultects but my budget is tight. I am wanting to use them to master with. Could you do another video like this with a different type of track too in the future? Have you tried any upgrades like valves or caps? Thanks Glenn
Thank you! I might do a video where you could see me turning the knobs live with another track. That could be fun. Havent tried changing anything. Dont think there will be that big of different. Dont think it need an uppgrade either. 😊
@@Kenneth-F yeah your right it does sound magic. It adds that nice polish to the high end abd just makes things sound bigger. Thanks again.👍
I'm a bit late to the party but will just mention that yes, upgrading tubes does make a notable difference. I swapped in some Genelex Gold Lions and that made the difference between selling both units and keeping them for me. I can't recall all the differences but I defitnately remember noting the low end tightend up quite noticably. Original tubes sounded a bit flabby/muddy.
Thankx I'm watching to make shure it's a good investment, since I don't have any hardware besides plug-ins, only use an ssl+2 to run out in as analog touch in tracks, thank you I will invest in this one's for shure
Im sure you will be happy!
@@Kenneth-F thank you
they are blowing them out for $209 new at Sweetwater. I think I need one!
However I am buying the behringer 1273 EQ neve mic preamp. Would it be overkill to have this standalone eq + the 2 channel mic pre and eq?
what are some uses I could use this klark teknik for that would be better than the neve EQ/Pre?
You should get them all. I got neve style eq and im using it every time I track.
If it sounds good it is good.
100% agree!
They sound okay- honestly though, compared to plugins, they don't hold a chance
Well that's your opinion and i dont agree with you. What plugin are you referring to?
Dope song idk how I got here but I enjoyed your music even though I only listen to rap. You also made me go buy one of these.
Well thank you! Hope you are happy with your eqp-kt.
in EQ OFF position one can hear what's to be fixed in the mix, that the recording has potential. with EQ ON though it seems tastier but beyond repair. i wonder what if the mix was fixed and then pultec VST emulation were put on instead ;)
Yeah its a bad mix. I didnt do it. What ypu are asking of is hard vs software. I got waves puigtec and it dont stand a chance agenst klark. Thats why i bought 4 of them.
@@Kenneth-F yeah the waves are somewhat muddy. uad version is not so, but i don't have the KT to compare...
@@pranzou I would say plugins dont got weight to them. They are all to clean. That goes also for compression. Everything i record/ mix goes thru hardware at least once.
I really admit being a "snob" ignoring this eq as a cheap "look-alike". They sound much better than I am willing to admit. Ordered a pair for my home-studio mastering-chain.
You will be happy im sure!
Got 2 more of these on order ❤❤❤

Anything about music I use them in my mastering rig . They’re one of the best deals on the planet. I’d like for you to do some examples of House , Edm , techno and jazz . I’m really impressed with your results. Some people complain the low end isn’t big enough. I get great results. Klark should use your examples to sell these puppies.
@@miquifaye Thank you! I will see what i can come up with and about Klark Teknik use my examples. Well they can just contact me! ;)
Interesting video. Definitely sounds better with the KTs on, in my opinion. I'd imagine they would sound better if I heard them on some nice studio monitors, rather then my computer, but even on the computer I hear the tracks open up more. Love to see more on these KT units. Thanks.

They sound great!
thank you! I agree! 😊
The Clark teknik Here Takes off much of the Vintage warm Style
Somehow i Like what its is doing with the upper midrange tomthe Low high end Points
But its affecting the Sound way too much in all range
Theres a comparison of a Rock Producer showing that Theres No Elimination compared to pultec
Here you can say IT cleans the Sound but Not in a perfekt way
I wished you have used a Couple settings to See If Theres a solution or an Agreement in between
Because This is what you thought your trying to create in the end
Dont misunderstand me
Im Just thinking If This is the only possible result with the klark teknik
If IT IS Then its a waste of Money cause somehow you need to Bring Back frequency in Low , lower midrange and middle midrange
IT Strange to See that you can clear the Sound Out so nice especially that vocals have a Push in a way but the Rest of the Sound ist getting destroyed
In other Videos i was a Bit impressed of the range and i thought you will be able to Use IT positive
But its cheap bullshit Analogue Trash
Well, thats your five cent. How ever i dont agree with you.
Thats actually a pretty good song, whats the name of the artist? Uh...and the Klark EQ sounds top notch!
Im sorry but i dont remember the name of the band or the song. I downloaded it @ www.cambridge-mt.com/ms/mtk/ great place for multitracks!
Wow! Gotta get myself a pair of these!
Yes you really should! 😀
i love this pultec styles, people say they sound like shit that they dont get the pultec sound, but they are intended to sound as a KT unit and they are great:), i was wondering, im planning on buying a pair of this unit, but im scared of output signal, i own 2 WA76, and since each outboard analogue gear reacts slightly different, im scared that they have different output levels:( i would like to use them as for stereo buss or for mastering stereo, could you tell me more about tecnical things on it:)? have you experienced an unbalanced signal with two units runing same time? or a mismatch on the EQ knobs from both units? Thank you!!
I agree with you on how they sound. They are great. I own 4 of them today. I dont have any problem with levelmatch in stereo. If there is small diffrent that you can hear you adjust the input (signal back to DAW) volume. I dont hear any mismatch on the eq and i got 4 today and im thinking of getting two more.
one other question, could i get buy nixing with just one of these or is two better?
If you want stereo you need two of them. One for left and another one for right.

@@Kenneth-F ah fun, ill take a look at those!
Hello, i want a pair of them, but i have a question: How do you root them (to your daw, interface, mixtable,...) ? Are they going thru a patchbay or something else ? watever, thank for your vids about these beautiful pieces !
Im using logic pro and the plugin i/o then i go out thru the interface on two channels 1=left 2=right then in to the eq and then back. Im using patchbay and a mixconsole but its all the same with or without.
Would you use these pair in mastering or mixing and can you use these with high end gear for mastering. Was wondering because they say if one low end gear in high end could mess up a quality signal.
Im using it when recording, mixing and mastering. They are great. About the loss signal and high end gear is just stuped. If its sounds good its good! 🙏

Do you use an A/D converter? I have one but I cant really hear a difference even when I print. I dont have a converter tho.
Well if you dont have an AD/DA converter you wont be able to get the sound in and out of the DAW. If you have a soundcard you have a AD/DA converter. You should hear the difference real easy. You must be doin something wrong.
@@Kenneth-F Okay my route is Out of the interface into the eq out of the eq back into the interface. Using pipline in studio one. My route signal in the daw is mono in and mono out. Do I need a D.I. Box to make it a line level signal?
How hard you hit them in db? I own one and still lookin for a sweet spot. The manual say to hit it with -4dbu but what is that even mean comparing to db used in digital? Cheers!
+4 dbu means line level signal. In the DAW that means -18dbfs. The key here is dbu (decibel unit) vs dbfs (decibel full scale) im gonna do a video about it soon!

Have you seen the video Glen from Spectre Sound did of the EQP-KT? He destroyed it with a sledgehammer!

@Kenneth-F I'm no stranger to high end gear. I have some nice bits and pieces including Neumann monitors, but whilst many manufacturers have discontinued a lot of their products the last few years (I mean try and find a good hardware fx unit) Behringer have done wonders with hardware synths and outboard.

i want to go through a stereo track in 2 kt-1176 in the cubase. . what cables should I connect my Apollo twin and it-1176 balanced or unbalanced?
You should go line out 1-2 from Apollo twin into kt76. Then out from kt76 to line in on the Apollo.
@@Kenneth-F OK, I did it from line out 3-4 send configuration to return configuration monitor L-R and it works normally! Buy quality man, you won't regret it. You can't be cheap and think you're going to own quality equipment. @@lightafluident.9950 If you have the money to invest in something that you will use to record the next garage band or wanna be singer (btw, also buy an autotune for that) It's great, but not everybody can afford not to eat for a piece of vintage gear that, honestly, will need a lot of work and at the end won't sound like in it's A days. I have tons of vintage gears, going from otari to studer to teac and later tascam, believe me it hard to resurrect something that old. You can do it of course, but you will have to make compromise, trade some part for others because not available anymore and so on.....at the end it works, but is the sound the same as before ? no ! Sure, it sounds darn good, But it's different now. I can record an album that's gonna be great with 2 mics, a four track, a small desk because I know what I'm doing. Also do I have to go back in on inputs 5 and 6 , one more question , how do people use more than 8 pieces as inserts or 4 stereo pairs when the interface only has 10 line out , I know I can connect with adat and get 8 more inputs but I'm pretty sure those new outputs don't work anymore (maybe I'm wrong) does it require a console?
