The Golden Girls winning the Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series on September 20, 1987. This was its second consecutive win in this category. The series' creator Susan Harris gives the acceptance speech this time after her producing partners Paul Junger Witt and Tony Thomas gave the acceptance speech on the show's first Emmy win a year earlier.
