    I have a new found respect for what you do. I spent 2 hours trying to loosen a vaporiser and a further hour and six times with a blowtorch on my custom 2.2 to remove it. Without your channel I wouldn’t of had a hope in hell. Thankyou ,and keep up the good content.👌

    Half the battle is for the owner to get it properly diagnosed.

    Things to check on Subaru diesel that will give ypu DPF problems-
    Split, leaking boost pipes,
    dirty EGR and MAP sensor,
    Oil level and dilution,
    ASH content will be high if car has over 200k km and DPF will need to be flushed and reset.

    I use Wyn's DPF cleaner (Halford) from time to time, Finger crossed, no blocked DPF since. Now I have Carbit App on my Phone and an ELM OBD plug. I can watch what is going in the DPF while driving and a lot of other parameters.

    You can reset the oil dilution on Euro 5 boxer diesels by turning on and of the lights and the demister in a certain order without tools.

    Hi Jimmy. Would you advise that oil level for all diesels with dpfs? Tia

    Cool. If the DPF was cracked I'm guessing it would be too low pressure after a clean ? What pressure do you see it around if it was cracked?

    Hi, when would be possible to book audi a4 diesel 2015 for dpf cleaning please?
    What’s your location as live in London and need to arrange a travel to you. Thank you

  • @SabretoothBarnacle

    Why would forced regens raise your oil level? Does it do extra injector pulses on the exhaust stroke to raise the dpf temp or something?

    • @robertcoldham6849
      @robertcoldham6849 8 місяців тому +2

      Yes thats correct, hence some diesel will leak past the piston rings into the sump increasing the oil level over time

    Is it not better getting the DPF out of the vehicle and giving the DPF a full flush? Assuming the customer is okay with the extra costs and the vehicle imobilised for a while.. I would be doing an oil and filter change after any DPF cleaning..

    • @wandpj
      @wandpj 5 місяців тому

      The cleaner goes into the dpf and is then exhausted. There is no way for the cleaner to mix with the engine oil. And a forced regeneration wasn't done so there would be no excessive oil dilution to warrant an oil change for that reason.

    A me su xv 2.0 my 2016 tdiesel ha consumato in un anno 1,5 litri di olio motul 5w30. Forse il caldo estivo ha creato il consumo eccessivo.

      Ciao posso chiederti come va con sto motore?
      Io dovrei comprare domani un Subaru Impreza 2.0 Diesel del 2012, però ha la spia motore e DPF accesa...

    • @boxerdiesel
      @boxerdiesel 6 місяців тому

      @@L0V3Dr3Am il motore è l' euro 6, sigla ee20z . Da quanto ho letto, hanno risolto il problema dell' albero motore che si spezzava e del DPF che si otturava parecchio nei motori euro 5. Il consumo di olio era poi dovuto ad un tubetto con valvola del vuoto che si era fessurato. Ora vedo se tra un tagliando e l'altro mi consuma di nuovo olio. Io credo che dovresti farla vedere per un controllo anche tramite software da un meccanico autorizzato Subaru. La mia va bene, ma in città la uso poco

      @@boxerdiesel questa però è Euro 5 da quello che dice il venditore e presumo sia così.Io sinceramente pensavo di togliere proprio il DPF tramite centralina e sperando che non abbia altro, anche perché secondo me non la pagherei molto 2.400 euro con 140mila km.

      @@L0V3Dr3Am mi sa che proprio le euro5 davano grossi guai al DPF, da lì accensione spie diagnosi e filtro. L'ideale sarebbe farla vedere ad un meccanico prima di acquistarla

    Nice content video Sir. Would it make sense to have the ash content physically removed from the DPF by a specialized company in an attempt to restore proper functioning or to install straigt a new DPF?

  • @jamesward5721
    @jamesward5721 8 місяців тому

    You get oddball DPF faults nobody wants, Jimmy - I get the oddball mechanical faults nobody wants. Great Wall pickup with no handbrake that nobody wants to touch? Check. V8 Range Rover that's been everywhere & still won't run? Check. Clapped out Iveco? Check. And on and on. Never get the simple stuff, always get what nobody else wants/could do.

    Your oil should be at the full mark on your dipstick,,,With only half way up there will be just enough oil to lube the engine and turbo,,But what will happen when it's only half full is when the engine is running the sump will be continuesly dry and your oil pump will be starved of lubrication,,,The dipstick has a full mark for a reason ,Engineers don't just put it there for fun...
