      that was the worst explanation of MIDI. What does MIDI mean?
      musical instrument digital interface. MIDI allows you to play a Synth Keyboard or any instrument that's Synthed (like a guitar synth ) into the computer program like Cubase, or Protools and the music will be recorded and notated if desired.

      @@rickjust Yeah, his explanation of MIDI was actually an explanation of a piano roll editor in a DAW. MIDI is the protocol for sending/receiving note and program change messages. That's it.

    • @FinnGamble
      @FinnGamble Рік тому +14

      @@rickjust that’s the original meaning from the 70s. These days MIDI is often used as a generic term when discussing about tracks that are stored as note/controller data within the DAW. I feel like using the word ”language” rather than ”protocol” isn’t that bad considering the audience.

    MIDI was originally the name of a computer communication protocol to connect musical instruments with computers. It's used all the time and as with everything, the poor dudes and dudettes that created MIDI have had to deal with people using the term incorrectly. But that's life in the big city. I use it incorrectly too. Just wanted to highlight this. The acronym stands for Musical Instrument Digital Interface.

    Conan ultimately brings people back to his brain and now everything revolves around that brain. It’s the Ptolemaic problem. That the world revolves around you (or the Earth) rather than the sun. Copernicus understood that it’s not about you. Conan hasn’t arrived there yet. 😅

      put very simply, but it highly depends on context. minor chords can also sound kind of happy, but maybe in a more longing, contemplative way
