    Of all the interviews Conan has done over the years with A-list celebs, etc, this is by far my fave of his because it just proves how true to himself, his team, and his guests that he is. The most genuine and down-to-earth host ever, the person who probably actually maintains true, authentic friendships with all the celebs he interviews on his shows after the cameras are done rolling.

      Understandable...But also note how the Hongdae crowd over here (both artists and clubbers, easily the most progressive slice of the young Korean populace) almost immediately accepted her entirety once they knew her background and journey as a musician: Michelle, the band, and her life story well before the book was even published...and by that time, the band name didn't bother them at all.

    • @sjk6500
      @sjk6500 Рік тому +13

      For the same reason as you, I also feel uncomfortable when she suddenly talks about Korea. It feels like she's just jumping on the recent popularity of K-culture.
      Although she has the freedom to express what she feels as an artist, if she understands even a little bit about the uniqueness of the relationship between Japan and Korea, it's really strange for her to suddenly write a book like this while promoting herself under Japanese Breakfast as a band.
      It's hard to shake off the feeling that she used to ride on the trend of Japanese culture before Korean culture became popular. It feels like she changed her direction towards what benefits herself more.

After I ran my first marathon (my qualifying one), COVID happened. Then, in 2021, I ran the Boston Marathon (my second marathon ever). I hate when people doubt me or doubt people who want to do something just because they didn't train for it or take lessons their whole lives like privileged children.
