    This song took me a couple of listens, but every time I listen, it creeps further up my favourites list. She dances like a maniac and her voice is still perfect.

    Her lyrics are always worth listening to. She thinks in a different way, sees the world differently and that can be very illuminating.

    Nice reaction and I think the whole 2018 KEXP performance by Aurora and her awesome band is spectacular! Nobody writes songs like Aurora, she is a lyrical genius and of course, she is performance art.

    Now that's how you start a week! She has more impressive performances, but this one is probably my favorite performance of hers to watch. First, the song has so many interesting elements, with great dynamics, and I love the contrast between those beautiful high vocals to when she goes down low (which I kind of wish she did more often). And then all the fun and energy, capped off by her going kind of nuts at the end (all while still singing gorgeously).
    By her own admission, it took her a couple years before she started liking to perform, and I feel like this concert is perhaps the perfect representation of when that joy of performing clicked, because she really lets loose during this entire show, and you can tell she is just loving it. She is still a little shy and awkward at this point, but that all goes away once the music starts.
    Loved your insights, Nina. Even though I've watched this countless times, you still pointed out some things that I hadn't noticed before. Have a great week! 🤟

      Totally agree with all your points re this performance! So interesting to learn she didn’t originally like performing given how amazing she is at it! Thanks for watching 😊

      @Tarkus_ Рік тому +3

      @@ninaschofield Oh yeah. For example, she performed three songs at the 2015 Nobel Peace Prize concert. By her own admission, she was scared, and that was during the time she only performed because she had to, not because she wanted to. Yet, all three songs are 10/10 performance and vocally (some of the best stuff she's ever done). She was always an amazing performer, even when she didn't like it. It's so interesting watching her journey.

    The chime sound is the Kalimba. One of the many instruments Aoura plays. It is however a track in this performance, but All is Soft Inside is a complicated song, and cannot be played completely live by a small traveling group.

    This song has always been a favourite of mine. I saw her in Sydney earlier in the year for the first time and got to see this performed live and it was a bit different to this version but I absolutely loved it. It's interesting to see how very different every live performance is to the last. She brings such energy and joy to her performances. I don't think I stopped smiling from the start of the show to the end.

    Great reaction, I love Aurora and this is one of my favorites too.
    Now I thought you might want to check out an artist I don't think you've reacted to before. He and Aurora are both unique each in their own way, yet very similar in many ways. He has some really good covers, but in principle all the songs he has written both music and lyrics, plays all the instruments, sings all the vocals and does the mixing. And that is only part of his talents.
    Maybe you have already seen him or at least seen his name? His name is Ren Gill and he is best known for his song Hi Ren, which he posted on UA-cam in December 2022. It is a very deep and personal story about how he managed to find balance between his good and bad sides, which made his life easier when he was severely physically ill with lyme disease, but misdiagnosed with ME and Boarderline for many years, which triggered psychoses and other problems and did irreparable damage to both his body and brain. Fortunately, in recent years he has received treatment, which has made his symptoms manageable.
    Many reaction channels have found him, among others Chris Liepe and The Charismatic Voice have both reacted to several of his songs and love him. Now, I know you're mostly into pop, so maybe Hi Ren isn't your thing, but try one of all the other genres he plays, which might suit you better. Maybe this song ua-cam.com/video/PdPVzKTJWXI/v-deo.html, or this one ua-cam.com/video/n7jsWZmHhcM/v-deo.html or possibly this one ua-cam.com/video/PO9UC2Zt59c/v-deo.html featuring Eden Nash.
    He is an independent artist so please respond to him and subscribe to his channel @ren so he gets more exposure

    I looked through your vid and it does not appears you have ever done any Carpenters. If you do not know them they were a bother (Richard Carpenter) sister (Karen Carpenter) duo. They signed with A&M in 1969 their first record did not do to well, but The Beatles Ticket to Ride is on it. It went up to 59 Their reply when asked about it was that the Carpenters did not try to be us they redid the song and made it theirs and how can you complain when the voice of an angel decides to sing your song. Thier next album put two songs at #1 and won them the Grammy award for Best Contemporary Performance By A Duo over the Beatles and Simon & Garfunkel. They produced a distinctive soft musical style, combining Karen's contralto vocals with Richard's harmonizing, arranging, and composition skills. During their 14-year career, the Carpenters recorded 10 albums along with many singles and several television specials. Unfortunately Karen suffered from anorexia bulimia and died at 32 in 1983 from complications to her sickness. She was always dieting but I believe the anorexia got its start when they insisted that the lead singer could not be hidden behind the drums and talked her into the front of the stage. I would recommend "Sweet Sweet Smile" or "I Need to be in Love" or "Close to You" or "Rainy Days And Mondays" or "Top of the World" or "We've Only Just Begun" or "Groupie (Superstar)" or "Ave Maria" or any of their music.
