Welcome to the fun Pete. On my researches 25T's the biggest pinion which fits. Using bigger pinions mentioned Brice😉. 35's a greaz result. It might not be what you expected, but it's twice a stock brusjed version can reach.
Hi there. Yeah I wasn't really sure what to expect with this as I know it's not quick out of the box. Not sure how many goes I will have as it's quite an awkward chassis to work on but will defo up the gearing. Cheers for watching and good luck with your entry 😁👍👍
Hiya Paul. Oh yes it is fun to drive on the beach but probably not recommended all things considered 😬 Well done for being first 😁 Thanks for watching and good luck with your entry 😁
Great intro, Pete. It's nice to see what you're packin' this year. 35 mph is a very solid baseline! And how about that sand, hey? Man, it really does get everywhere! 😝
Hiya Fil. Yeah this chassis is particularly efficient at collecting sand isn't it? Also I don't really think that it's happy going fast but I'm sure some folks will get some good speeds out of it. I that I'll stay with this standard brushless class in the contest. Cheers for now mate 😁👍
Hi there. Oh yeah I sort of knew that the beach run was a bad idea but it was fun at the time. Many thanks indeed for watching and your comments. Much appreciated 😁👍
I'm kinda glad that i live nowhere near the sea... it is very tempting to run the cars on the beach... but the saltwater and the sand are killers... great video... And 35 mph on that narrow car is quite fast. i think we will see a lot of carnage this year with these cars going high speeds 😬
Oh yeah the sand and salt water are pretty bad for these and this chassis in particular seems to suffer quite badly. Yeah it was difficult to control at 35mph so don't know how it will be at faster speeds but we'll soon see. Yes a lot of breakages I expect. Many thanks indeed for watching 😁👍
Hi there. Yeah I never tested the speed with the stock pinion and motor but I'm guessing it was maybe 17mph so this is quite an upgrade. It was difficult to control at speed so be interesting to see how we all get on with trying for faster speeds. Many thanks indeed for watching and your great feedback 😁👍
Oh yeah it's a great space to run these but this particular chassis has too many nooks and crannies for the sand to get in to make it a recommended beach basher. Also it's a bit awkward to work on so will stick to grass and roads from now on. Many thanks indeed for watching 😁👍
Great video Pete, rhe sand and salt found its way in to everything it seems. The price of a beatiful sunset beach video is high. 35mph is fast! Hope you don't break much more in this contest mate 👍🏻
Hiya mate. Oh yeah I think you can get away with running in the dry sand in the dunes to a certain extent because it can be blown off with the air duster but driving in the sea is definitely a bad idea. Does make a nice video though. I still stick with my theory that the Lunchbox is the best car for the beach because it suffers the least from going in the sea. Cheers for watching mate. Hope you are doing ok. Best wishes 😁👍👍
Boy that was really in need of a bit of cleaning and TLC anyways so good candidate to tinker on for the challenge! It stinks that body post snapped off but hopefully the parts are in stock over there. They are cheap but you have to tear down everything you just tore down to replace it! I was playing with mine last night and installed the speed gear set and changed to a larger pinon and set it to the ludicrous speed setting and you will need some foam tires on there!!! Holy moly it was scary to hold at the bench!!! LOL! Have fun with it best of luck on the upcoming runs with it!
Hiya Addam. Oh yeah this one definitely needed a bit of sorting out. I think that I am going to have to get the front apart and change the crappy servo saver that has a load of play. It is a bit of an annoying chassis in that you need to take everything apart to do anything. I'm going to try the higher gearing but it was pretty hard to control as it was. I'll be interested to see what you get up to with it. Cheers for your great feedback mate and good luck with yours 😁👍👍
Great intro video, Pete, really helps build the hype for this! Was very exciting to follow along your restoration process after that nice beach run, he he... Yeah, I'm trying to keep this one as low effort and cost as possible, but then again stupid ideas are brewing, we'll see what happens, he he... And happy International Beer Day, apparently it is today!
Hiya. Oh yeah it is such fun to drive on the beach and it makes a great video but does the car absolutely no good whatever 😞 Anyway yes value for money is the order of the day for this. I'll be interested to see what you do with yours. Ooh I didn't know it was international beer day but in my house it is that every day! Many thanks indeed for watching and your great feedback. Best wishes 😁👍👍
Great introduction to this year's challenge mate! Oh the perils of the seaside...... It looked like one of those m#####t dinghies that we get coming into Dover as it came in on that wave!! 😂 But, I had better not go down that route bearing in mind current tensions in this country! 😬 Good job on the overhaul, and good shakedown time to mate. I stand by my comments on others channels...... I don't see this chassis taking the same levels of abuse as the TTO2 or CWO1 of previous years! I'm forseeing a lot of breakages as people start putting silly power through them..... should be fun! Best of luck to you buddy. 🤞 👍 👍 👍
Hiya James. Ooh yeah better stay off anything controversial in here 😬 Anyway yes it was good to get this cleaned up as I knew it was running rough after the beach runs. No I don't think that this one will take the crashes so well and also it is rather tiny and narrow for high speeds so be interesting to see how quick people manage to go. I'm not going to go mad because I haven't got loads of cash to spend on repairs. Hope to see what you guys do with this one too. Cheers for watching mate. Best wishes 😁👍
@@PeteWylieRC Lol...... We are currently drawing up plans for a rocket powered car for our attempt matey! 🚀😂 There's only one way this is going to go I'm guessing...... I think it's guna get messy!! 😂 🍻 😜 👍 👍 👍
Hi Pete, nice intro mate and a good advert for not accidentally driving your RC car into the sea! I honestly guessed 35 from watching the test run, I think I'm getting better with my guesses after all the speed runs we've been doing lately! 😅 Anyway, great start and I know you will get much quicker as the SRC progresses. Cheers mate and wishing you a lovely weekend down there! 😎👌🦫👍
Hiya Mark. Oh well if I'm honest I did drive the car into the sea on purpose to get some good shots for the video 🤣 Ooh good call on the speed. Yeah we've seen so many of these that you can have a pretty close guess most of the time. Not sure that I'll be having many goes at this. Probably just to the high gear mod and call it a day. Hope you are having a good weekend too mate. Best wishes 😁👍
The sand acts as ballast lol
Ha yeah maybe it helps it stick to the road better. Cheers for watching mate 😁👍
Great fun competition 😀
That beetle is beautiful 😍
Yeah should be a good contest this year. Yeah the yellow Beetle shell is really nice. The red one is rather battered. Many thanks for watching 😁👍

Nice shakedown 😊 Well, it's cool to have a beach to run on, but oh boy the work it requires to clean this up 😮 Good luck 👍🤝

Oh the saltwater.
Ha yeah, I knew it was a bad idea but makes for great shots in the video. Thanks for watching Brad 😁👍
Yep, I cringed alittle.

35mph ain't bad mate, it's very respectable! Good luck for future runs!

I really see the appeal of beach runs. Ocean dip or no. Amazing what a bit of grease and a little bearing oil can do though! Good run!
