The 1st and only person that i have ever seen on this show that let them take it all without a word. He loves his wife enough to know he had to do it for her.

Seeing that syringe inside of the juice cup is really humbling and sad to think how some people have to operate life in order to live. As tragic as his wife's condition is, knowing that this guy is sticking with his wife and truly being there for her is extremely heartwarming. He's a great man
First off let me say I am Matt’s number 1 fan!!! 😁 His compassionate no nonsense approach with the clients is admirable and one of my favorite parts of the show!! Secondly, I have said before and I will say it again, this show is more than just a television show, this team of people actually change peoples lives for the better and this episode is an excellent example of that!! Cheers
I’m glad there are companies like this who are willing to help people. I hope the man is receiving some kind of counseling in addition to having a bunch of people clean up after what he accumulated over the years. The man seemed ready for a change so let’s hope it stays this way.
I watch one (ok, maybe two) Hoarders episodes and right away I am bombarded with Hoarders in my suggestions. But it inspires me to clean my house, so that's a good thing.
rawdog42 It is really frustrating when they don’t finish. I imagine they have a tight schedule for filming though. At least they do provide the aftercare services and got this guy some brand new furniture- I’ve never seen that before.
They're allotted only a certain amount of time because it's very expensive to have all those junk haulers and their trucks there, plus all the cleaners. They show a lot of "volunteers," but there are many paid people who are doing the actual work so that it gets done in a timely manner, and within budget. Matt Paxton, Dr. Thompson, Dorothy Breninger---they aren't working the show for free.
Because it's a TV show and they need to add some kind of artificial drama Imagine if they had a lot of pre psychological care and then slowly ease into the process and then the after care to rlly avoid relapse That would take a long time + a lot of money and would be "boring" to viewers so the show wouldn't last
I imagine the friends and family that help take a set amount of time off of work and not a day more so the crew only stays four days for each hoard. (not counting the first day when they do the tour and introductions).

This man has such a good heart. You can see how much he loves his wife. He's probably been lonely and depressed for so long. You could see at one point how hard this all was on him, but his love was greater than his fear. I wish he and his bride many more beautiful years together.
This is absolutely one of my favorite episodes! I truly hope that Dennis is keeping up with the house!! And wish the family NOTHING BUT THE ABSOLUTE BEST❤️
For some reason, this short clip really moved me. That the owner recognized and admitted he needed help and that they pulled off such a wonderful task in such a short time. What a blessing!
What a transformation.... I love a happy ending! I understand they have more to do, but knowing this husband can care for his wife in a safe environment must have been such a relief for the family. Good job to all involved!
That a very smart man and I’m proud of him for noticing he needed to do better and haveing the courage to do so thing about it in no way was he clinging on to stuff and had regret . Super happy for this guy..💕
My heart goes out to Dennis. I’ve been a caregiver and it’s a big job. It was imperative that I kept an organized space in a time when I didn’t have control over much else. I can’t even imagine how he was able to provide care in this environment. I hope he seeks therapy to deal with the real problem and his current situation. God bless this organization for helping him. I loved when they came together in prayer before taking on this daunting task. Great job everyone!
1:39 At first I thought that was a statue of Zasio. That poor wife! Can barely move and having to live in that obscene hoard. I am glad he got it cleaned up.
Omg im so sorry to laugh but u said a statue of Zasio n that just cracked me up! However, Zasio statue thing aside, I feel for her and admire her husband for loving her through it.
It was so good to finally see a clean up where everyone was positive. I have watched clean ups before where the cleaners were very disrespectful towards the home owners. Well done guys. A great clean up and done with respect and dignity. What a great effort.
So awesome to see him so willing and ready for change! His wife and her safety are more important to him than whatever in him got them in that situation. Kudos to him and everyone who worked on this cleanup! I know everyone worked hard to get this done!
I feel like he truly intended to do all those projects. When you have a mind that works like his, you're constantly thinking about things to build, fix, upgrade, etc. So glad they have a beautiful new home now!
God bless this man taking care of his wife I’m sure it’s been so hard for him plus manage a house and dreams of hobbies. I’m glad to see Hoarder is finally hooking people up with furniture
What a sweet man, the only one I ever recall on this show that was freely able to admit how bad it was and let go of it all. I really hope he is able to get more help cleaning the outside too and help keeping the inside clean
The house has a lot of charm, and interesting design details - Dennis said he was an architect. It is wonderful that they will be able to enjoy it now. A lovely family.
OMG. How can you not cry? This was so touching and so amazing. It's such a wonderful thing that this man was willing to ask for help. Now he can live like a normal person and help his wife much more easily. What a blessing . 🌈
I have so much crazy respect for this family. A lot of mistakes were made to get to this point, but wow did they come through and really try to fix things in the most effective and mature way. I've never seen so much strong emotion felt in one of these episodes communicated and dealt with so effectively. I wish this family so much luck in the future.
When ever I watch these episodes, I either start cleaning the kitchen hysterically or feel quite alright with my modest hoarding. It never leaves me untouched. All of these people have grave emotional issues, I hope they get help with those too.
This man was so gracious, and he is a good strong man!! I wish the show gave them more time to finish more projects in the home!! It is refreshing to see such a positive episode too.
There are a lot of very positive comments here about how Dennis has magnanimously addressed his hoarding for the sake of his sick wife. This video has been produced to appear as though this is the case, but if you pay attention to the video you can see this is entirely false. He was forced to clear out his hoard because his home was non-compliant and he was receiving fines from the city for his hoard (they mention this three times in the video - at 4:58 - non-compliance, 8:16 - fines and 8:22 - "the county is going to work with them"). He had no choice but to do it or lose his home. That's why there was a deadline on the clean-out - the city would not have given him unlimited time to sort out his house, so they had to work to a timetable. Its also why they attacked the outside of the home simultaneously with the inside. If the idea was to make the house safe for Judith, the interior would have been the priority and the junk outside could have been left till later. They were forced to clean up the outside because the city required it. Though they don't show it in this mini-episode, in the full episode they explain that the reason why they threw out the furniture and got them a new bed and couch is because the existing furniture was too disgusting to keep. Also, they didn't show Dennis' objections to the removal of his junk during the process of clean-up. Poor Judith was living in cluttered squalor. I have no doubt that Dennis loves his wife, but its inexcusable that he subjected her to such unhealthy, dangerous conditions when she was already so frail and unwell. Though his wife is suffering from advanced Parkinson's, you can see that Dennis' illness far, far predates her own (it takes decades to accumulate >500 tons of junk). The fact that Dennis subjected his vulnerable, disabled wife to these unsafe and unhygienic conditions is very sad. Without considerable psychiatric help, Dennis will begin to rapidly reaccumulate his hoard.
Thanks for providing context for those of us unable to watch the whole show - very canny editing indeed. So true about the re-accumulation, as well; he basically admits as much at the end when he says he won't let it get as bad as it _was_ - it's like: 'no Dennis, it's not supposed to get bad _at all_ now that they've cleared it ! ' .
you wonder why the 3 kids did not intervene 10 years ago and let their mom live like this, three people plus dad could have made the house livable in a years worth of weekends, but the kids probably didn't want to be inconvenienced with cleanup work
I completely agree. Almost like people want to see through rose colored glasses because he's crying and old. Not to sound dismissive but facts is fact. He neglected this wife and should have done what was best for her and him years ago!
I'm so glad the house got cleaned and I'm glad He went through with it without any problems. I'm sure his wife feels lost, it may take her a while to feel secure again. ❤❤

@Isabel Beckerman - at the end of the day, hoarders love their garbage more than ANYTHING ELSE. And anyone who really thinks he let go of all his junk without a murmur, really needs to watch the entire episode!
My dad has hoarding tendencies, but has always had a wife to manage it. One time my mom was throwing something out and he said, "It's like you want to throw ME away." That's how much his identity and his junk we're intertwined. His mother was a full hoarder.
My dad took care of my mom in her sick days, its more than rough being a Caregiver for a loved one. Light and blessings to the family and a special one for the husband!

Seeing that syringe inside of the juice cup is really humbling and sad to think how some people have to operate life in order to live.
As tragic as his wife's condition is, knowing that this guy is sticking with his wife and truly being there for her is extremely heartwarming. He's a great man
No one is perfect
These people are amazing
Oh, my heart! You can tell this was painful, but he was motivated by his wife. I wish them the best. 💖
I watch one (ok, maybe two) Hoarders episodes and right away I am bombarded with Hoarders in my suggestions. But it inspires me to clean my house, so that's a good thing.
Sometimes this show has a subject that from start to finish you just keep saying..."Bless his heart".
The non-judgemental compassionate approach is heartwarming
Why end it on a certain deadline ?
Finish the job.
rawdog42 It is really frustrating when they don’t finish. I imagine they have a tight schedule for filming though. At least they do provide the aftercare services and got this guy some brand new furniture- I’ve never seen that before.
@@nora__ - they do that alot.
Because it's a TV show and they need to add some kind of artificial drama
Imagine if they had a lot of pre psychological care and then slowly ease into the process and then the after care to rlly avoid relapse
That would take a long time + a lot of money and would be "boring" to viewers so the show wouldn't last
I imagine the friends and family that help take a set amount of time off of work and not a day more so the crew only stays four days for each hoard. (not counting the first day when they do the tour and introductions).
This man has such a good heart. You can see how much he loves his wife. He's probably been lonely and depressed for so long. You could see at one point how hard this all was on him, but his love was greater than his fear. I wish he and his bride many more beautiful years together.
This is the first one I've seen where the hoarder hasn't gotten mad at stuff getting removed. Dennis is a good man.
It was a decent house under that ton of trash! And the people were nice😍
I have been a fan of Hoarders for a few years now and have never seen a successful episode such as this. Thank you for that, was a long time coming!
You know what amazes me! Is the love that man must have for his wife to care for her like that. Now that's Love!
This makes me sad. The man seems like a really decent man who lost his way.
Bless this man , his wife, his children n TEAM who helped them
I've come to conclusion we love this man and is proud of him for his devotion to his wife.
This is absolutely one of my favorite episodes! I truly hope that Dennis is keeping up with the house!! And wish the family NOTHING BUT THE ABSOLUTE BEST❤️
Hoarders has really upped their game by providing new furnishings too. It’s extremely heartwarming!
Yeah i wonder how she felt before her disease progressed.... but at least it is safe now.
Omg im so sorry to laugh but u said a statue of Zasio n that just cracked me up! However, Zasio statue thing aside, I feel for her and admire her husband for loving her through it.
Honestly I thought that was Zasio as well until he turned her around lol
Stephen Border I’m glad it’s not just me
Zasio....EEWW, what an insult to the man's wife!
It was so good to finally see a clean up where everyone was positive. I have watched clean ups before where the cleaners were very disrespectful towards the home owners. Well done guys. A great clean up and done with respect and dignity. What a great effort.
"thanks for letting us do this" aww matt is so sweet
Yeah this is big business for him 😉
@@MrThresher7 still, he's changing ppl lives for the better.
@@dragonfly5665q Noble.
What an amazing love story. As much as he loved his stuff he loves his wife more! Awesome!!
So proud of this man! This is so sweet
So awesome to see him so willing and ready for change! His wife and her safety are more important to him than whatever in him got them in that situation. Kudos to him and everyone who worked on this cleanup! I know everyone worked hard to get this done!
When I saw his wife, my heart dropped.
No one:
Hoarder show director: Alright, you cleaners exit your car at the same time. It looks rad. 😂 2:35
it did look rad😂
I imagined director saying 5, 4, 3, 2 action!
i was looking for a comment about it
Yes, that was a great shot!
Rad is right, but I had to laugh as I watched them do that lol
The way he takes care of his wife makes me want to cry 😭. How sweet.
So grateful the show actually existed to help him. It would have been impossible to do on his own. This is why we need community!
"Clutter" is the understatement of the year.
I feel like he truly intended to do all those projects. When you have a mind that works like his, you're constantly thinking about things to build, fix, upgrade, etc. So glad they have a beautiful new home now!
By far the best before and after I’ve seen! So happy for them!
What a beautiful man , who loves his wife sooo much and a fantastic , compassionate team that cleaned up 🤗
God bless this man taking care of his wife I’m sure it’s been so hard for him plus manage a house and dreams of hobbies.
that's really a beautiful home, now that you can see it. very pretty
you wonder why the 3 kids did not intervene 10 years ago and let their mom live like this, three people plus dad could have made the house livable in a years worth of weekends, but the kids probably didn't want to be inconvenienced with cleanup work
@@markman63 Yeah, try cleaning up a hoarder relative's house against their will.
I completely agree. Almost like people want to see through rose colored glasses because he's crying and old. Not to sound dismissive but facts is fact. He neglected this wife and should have done what was best for her and him years ago!
@@Etianen7 they should have called protective services then. Take their mother from that squalor and let their dad love and die in the filth.
That was SO needed. Judith has a lot of needs for her safety and health. Am so pleased that the family got the help to live better lives.
I'm so glad the house got cleaned and I'm glad He went through with it without any problems. I'm sure his wife feels lost, it may take her a while to feel secure again. ❤❤
There were LOTS of problems. Watch the entire episode.
Hands down my favorite family on this show. Its incredibly brave to be able to admit you have a problem, and on a TV show no less. I wish them the best and I hope that this enriches their lives in every way possible. God bless 🙏
This guy has a lot of insight! Unusual and promising.
My favorite episode. Hope family continue to help clean, give Dad a break, cook every now.and again.
The sad news is he started hoarding again. The good news is it will take him years to get it back to the way it was. I truly feel sorry for his wife.
Seriously? How sad that is.
What????😱
@Isabel Beckerman - at the end of the day, hoarders love their garbage more than ANYTHING ELSE.
His mother was a full hoarder.
so his kids continue to ignore the wellbeing of their mother
My dad took care of my mom in her sick days, its more than rough being a Caregiver for a loved one. Light and blessings to the family and a special one for the husband!
It’s incredible to think about how ONE MAN amassed over 1 mil pounds of stuff! He’s a genuine dude and out of all the Hoarders episodes, I think he’s the most deserving!! Hope the best for him & his wife ❤️
I’m happy that he cares for his wife so much, he knew there was an issue and took initiative to make her safer and happier.
Too bad Dr. Zasio wasn't there to help. She's my favorite. I love her quirky little ways and she brings so much great advice also.

This so wonderful what u did for this man Nd his wife
Brought tears to my eyes! I love what these people do for others. ❤❤❤
This is the only guy on this show I actually liked and demonstrated his awareness and passion for his family. Im glad he is able to give his wife a fresh start.
Was that the Son?..he reminded me of the Hoarding specialist from other episodes, then i saw at the end He was there shaking hands...very similar
agreed. I watched the whole episode and I thought that every time I saw the son.
Yes! I was thinking he was Dr. Michael Tompkins haha
I would keep that glass table away from her, for safety
Bless this man. Talk about overwhelm. Im sure he never planned for this to be his situation, he just had big ambitions. Accepting help is not easy, but he did it.
The son and the therapist (?) look like brothers.
He did so well - no melt downs - he knew it had to be done. It looks beautiful now.
I think this is truly so nice and touches the heart
Just so happy for that poor man and his wife, what a miracle the team worked.
