Sasha Alex Sloan says she was in a "pretty dark place" when she put together her 'Me Again' album. "I was going through a rough time with my family, who most of this album ended up being about," she recently told a journalist. With the pain comes some insight. Singer-songwriters are known for their intrepid ways of dishing out intimacy, and from the start Sloan's work has trafficked in reflection. Blended with the kind of musical craft that occasionally makes a gentle little tune sound like big pop statement, she makes these poignant observations truly resonate. That's been the singer's MO since her 2020 'Only Child' debut. Check "Lie" and "House With No Mirrors" for the template of the way her current songs reveal their emotional quandaries. Been watch Sasha on UA-cam for a while and always thought she was an immensely talent singer/songwriter and now that her songs are moving more from pop and easy rock I am thinking this more country sound might hopefully make her much more well known. She has always had great vocals but this beautiful song really makes it shine through and strongly reminds me of early Sheryl Crow and more recently Kacey Musgraves sound.. I listed to the original version almost every day and cant wait for it to hit a million views and then through the roof and go viral. She is such a tremendous talent.

I'll repeat the same question I've asked in many of your videos, why do you never play an instrument in your performance videos? Do you only compose on garageband and ableton? You can't play a real instrument? WTF ? You write great songs, but can't play anything??? Seriously ???
