How to open pop-up pump soap or shampoo bottle

I remember struggling to open a shampoo bottle and the pump wouldn’t pop up no matter how much I tried. Here’s what I’ve learned about pop-up soap/shampoo dispenser pumps.

Ma’am , this is probably the 5th video I watched when I couldn’t get my shampoo bottle to open . As someone else mentioned , you hit the nail on the head !! The key is to figure out in which direction the cap tightens and then spin the dispenser in the OPPOSITE direction . I am not a handy person so this is a very valuable lesson for me . Thank you so much !!

I’m contacting the manufacturer because I still can’t open the pump. I’ve had two of their dispensers because the soap is really good but have to decant to another dispenser, I’m beyond frustrated. Thanks for your tip though.
