THANK YOU for this deep dive. There’s so little information available out there regarding just what the TH50-00 is about. There were rumours about it being an E168, and some sketchy forum posts, but WOW, the fucking gall for Tag and Swiss-friendly watch-tubers to advertise it as “groundbreaking” and “revolutionary”. As a fellow solar quartz guy - there’s some great prices on stainless steel AQ4060’s out there. Debating getting one myself.
@Brownimusprime Yeah, that's why I wanted to share what I had found. I knew a couple of people would appreciate it. It's essentially an e168 with a longer power reserve and bigger solar panel under the dial. It's definitely not groundbreaking or revolutionary, but it is one of the few swiss made solar watches, and with that comes very good fit and finish. It's not worth the 3k, but you are also paying for the name. The next piece i want to pick up is the citizen, I'm just not super fond of the versions available on the US market and would prefer a warranty on something that expensive. I hope the swiss start using more solar powered watches.
Thanks for the insight. I purchased the steel (black face) solargraph on 19th November 24 and checking it with local time on the internet, it has only just been a fraction of a second off. I'm actually well pleased with it. I like and prefer the weight of steel to titanium, luckily for me because it saved me 1000 euros! My gripe with Tag Heuer is in them not offering rubber strap options to the steel bracelet, except a green one for the 43mm automatic aquaracer. Can't see how that's good business myself! Like you, I'm all solar these days, having had a couple of rolex gmt masters and a breitling superocean. I did have a breitling chrono colt that was also accurate but had to have a new battery every 3yrs. I'm just tired of battery replacements and servicing rip-offs as well as variations in automatic movement accuracies!
@alan-n3d thank you for watching! I was able to get 20 percent off on this one at the boutique. It would be nice if they had aftermarket straps, but I really like the bracelet, and with both the stainless I had and this titanium, one rarely take them off. Couldn't agree more on solar. They will always he the majority of my collection. I'd still like to get one of my grails, which is an automatic.

Does the Tag Heuer movement have any jewels? Compared to the basic E168.
