Not necessarily - I've seen some immigrants live for 20 years in a foreign country and yet their language is still pretty bad - a few words - mish mash of words to create a cohesive sentence, however, it's still broken. You still need to make an effort with everything that's available to you.

The best place to learn a foreign language is for oneself to be there to experience it. Staying there for a few months at best a must. 🙏
