Its an ASNT ANSI ASTM requirement to check a minimum of 2 directions. As with many things done wrong in this video from the sweat coming off the cut from no preheat, to using Oxy Acetylene or propylene instead of a modern plasma arc, square groove instead of a bevel....... If I UT'd or X-rayed those joints id shut that place down. No guards or handles on any of their grinders ect ect ect.... I could eat this up all day long. That's not modern fabrication, but hey they have Dust filters on, but its probably for the pollution in the air over there more than anything lol.

(Уходят уже установленные на свое шасси) А так самые крупные емкости делали для немцев, из стали толщиной 20мм, обечайки катались диаметром 2,4 метра. Очень большие. Продольный шов тут показали, как сваривают жуком. Не очень. У нас сварка производилась на продольной колонне. Намного качественнее. (В видео была подобная только кольцевая сварка) Ну и готовая такая "бочка" весила около 10тонн ) погрузчиком не поднять. Ну маленькие тоже делали. А вообще я конечно пару лет как там не работаю. Просто что видел с тем и сравнил )

Honest question, why are they adding the fiberglass to the tank? It would seem to me that adding that fiberglass wouldn't make any significant strength addition, not compared to that steel... perhaps for corrosion protection, but then why wouldn't they just paint it. Amazing the technology used just to make a 'simple' oil tank.

Tanks like that get buried steel rusts fiberglass doesn’t rust the fiberglass protects the steel from the elements
