Hi Mark! Thanks for all the great content! As someone who has gone from below average to above average in running, I am now looking for my next goal and therefore I would love to see more content about the strength and resistance training that you do. I literally have no idea about where to start. At the moment I am just doing as many press ups as I can.
When you broke your kickr I bought one. You told me to slow down and I could run. You praised the fenix and now I get daily reminders that my sleep is poor and my workouts are a waste of time. Thanks for all.
This channel is single handedly responsible for the purchase of a very expensive road bike, a reasonably priced gym membership, and a few pairs of overpriced running shoes, and I've never felt better! I've started pushing my training further than I ever have, & Hyrox London lands on my birthday this year, looking forward to it! Thank you Mark 💪🏼🔥
Sadly i have done none of the above apart from pushing my training further and Mark does produce awesome content, despite not persuading me to part with any cash ;-)
@@rvatxn me too Carolyn, but in my old age i have become more of an economy buys. Old shoes and old tech are always on discount when the latest greatest are out.
My youtube is full with fitness and health channels. They are often more informative and science based but none of them is so entertaining. I don't race, I don't do ultra stuff, I think I'm here for the stand up (or sit down) comedy part. Keep up the good job!
Quite late to this, but the end of the "physical achievement" chapter / section is such a lovely refreshing take on motivation / will power. Very easy to egotistically think you're above someone else because your circumstances might be similar but yet you're "stronger willed" and squeeze runs in more often than that someone else. Not sure why I am just trying to paraphrase what you said a lot better, but great take and I'm going to steal that. Thanks
I was going to sub on Patreon this week, but now you’ll just think it’s so I can look at pictures of Jen. I’ll wait a couple of weeks so you don’t think I’m a perv. Congrats by the way and great content. As someone who also got to the point where my waistline was the worst it was ever to competing in Marathons and enjoying running and cycling at an above average level, to keep active, I enjoy your take on fitness.
You are a genuinely funny guy. That's why it works. I think the first video of you I saw was the parkrun dogs one. I don't have a dog, or even particularly like them, but it was entertaining. I watched a few more and was hooked. A great example of where you do well would be the Hyrox videos. That is something I would never normally be interested in, but you made it great entertainment. I would still not attend one, but am happy to chuckle along to your commentary when you are at one.
Be keen to see how your VO2 max test comes out and how it compares to the Garmin estimate. I've often wondered how close the VO2 on my Garmin is to my actual VO2. I've read that with the data they have the estimate is actually not at all bad, but a real comparison would be really interesting 👍
I'd love to know how garmin determines when to update VO2 max..... I'm injured and HR hasn't gone over 95 in two weeks yet my V02 (Garmin) hasn't moved.... I'm pretty sure it's not what it was two weeks ago. Independent assessments of the Garmin value claim it's accurate to 5 %, I *think* that was published by Runners World? Not sure how it can be that accurate, given the flakiness of the Garmin measured HR values. Perhaps its +/- 5 % with a decent chest strap? Keen to see what Mark finds
@@MarkLewisfitness I did a Chester Step Test and the VO2Max result was a little bit higher than the Garmin number. VO2Max is only one of many measures - it depends how nerdy you want to get.
I was thinking the same thing about my Apple Watch…How does an actual Vo2 max test compare? Also what was the cost of the test and how long did it take?
Congratulations on 100K subscribers! Your channel is by far my favorite fitness channel on UA-cam, just because you approach things differently than other Fitness UA-camrs. Nobody needs more bench press tutorials ;-)
Congratulations on this milestone, I‘m fairly new to this channel, so you are moving towards the 200k. Enjoy your humour, probably because we are similar age. If you ever find yourself in Germany drop in for a session in my gym.
Love this channel. I don’t really bother with UA-cam other than when I want to know how to do something. My 9 year old daughter has even taken over my UA-cam account. This is literally the only channel I actually always watch when new content is released. Really interesting and funny. I’ve just signed up for Hyrox Birmingham after your coverage of those events. I’d really like to see you having a really good go at Crossfit Mark. I think it would make for really interesting and witty content.
You could aim to be above average in the Crossfit open. It’s a five week international online event with a different workout to complete each week. You get an online ranking you can filter by age, sex, country etc.
As someone who came for the Zwifting but has stayed for the Hyrox videos, I'm really enjoying your content mix. As a lifer cyclist now in his mid-40s, I realise that my fitness and flexibility to date has been very one-dimensional. So I'm starting to get acquainted with weights. Not on first name terms yet but baby steps. Keep smashing out the excellent videos. Really looking forward to Jen's fitness journey.
Congratulations and well deserved, Mark! You're obviously doing something right, because you've grown larger and more quickly than plenty of other UA-camrs in a similar space who I follow. Here's to further growth and greater reach for your refreshing message
I'm one of those people who've stumbled on your videos and I'm glad I have. I'm a cyclist first and foremost, but like you pointed out in the video, have stuck around for the variety. Good luck with the road to 200k 🤙
This video couldn't have come at better timing Mark. It's been a bit since I've posted to my channel and I'm finally getting back to sharing again! Thanks for the inspiration!
I love your thoughts on Uni, I work in one, and the majority of our staff come from students who studied for 3 years, got in to debt, and now just do the same job I did since leaving school.
Great video... stumbled across your Kipchoge video (thanks to UA-cam Algorithm) and have been watching/listening to your content throughout today. Really enjoying my running at the moment and just completed a half marathon distance yesterday.... first time doing that since breaking my leg a couple of years ago. Also.. always interested to hear UA-cam success stories.. Cheers.
I came to your channel because I was considering getting a Wahoo Kickr Bike and wanted to see one in action. I ended up getting the bike... and a road bike... and love the variety of content here. It' all relevant/interesting to me. Yours is one of only two channel I allow to send me notifications... I always look forward to the next video.
One key quality you have mate... Likability. You cant really explain what this is and cant fake it, but we know when its there. No shouty vids with clickbaity titles, with a thumbnail image of you with your mouth open with a white line around it and all that shite. Good solid content thats entertaining to watch.
Love the channel Mark, I hope I’m in the process of my own Mark Lewis fitness transformation as I go from overweight new dad to a regular runner. I’m training for my first 50k ultra in July. I’ve taken a lot of advice from your channel and even more entertainment value. Looking forward to seeing Jenna’s training too, as that will probably be closer to where I’m at.
Some positive feedback - I’ve started from a not dissimilar position (37, 108kg, 5’10’’). Gym, diet, now 90kg 8 months later, but somewhat directionless and losing focus. Your videos found - just did my first 10k, signed op for another and a half marathon, thinking about a bike event and a marathon, and fully subscribed to the ‘above average’ ethos. Love your work
It is impressive to go to 100,000 subs so quickly. I think I started watching around 15,000 and my wife enjoys the videos as much as i do. We appreciate the effort that goes into each video--no fat there either. That said, having a wife like Jen who is so supportive and looks so good in a bikini must help in the motivation department! Bravo, Mark!
Congrats on the milestone! I only found your channel a few months ago, love the funny yet straight talking approach from a guy getting after it - keep it up!
Mark, you did the impossible and got me back into the gym after 2 years out (tbf i was pregnant for a 3rd of that)! your content is literally changing my life. Congratulations, onwards and upwards!!!
I started an obesity programm in November - got down from 130kg 41years to now 80kg and found myself suddenly enjoying hiking, running and spending time in the mountains and nature. Got into your content a few month ago dued to your many topics you cover. From heavy running to nutrition and some gear / shoe things - liked it and subscribed! Many thanks! I am willing / planning to participate in a 23km trail race in Oktober - started training recently and have it set as a milestone / goal. Might be a great thing if I can complete it exactly a year after 130kg :-) best statement to adopt is your 'above average' mindset - not the best possible but achievable *above average*!
Live seeing channels I like blow up! 👍🏻 Bought a Garmin and started running again thanks to this channel...I'm not several hundred pounds worse off and my knees hurt... Thanks alot dude. 😂
Regular viewer and love the channel. Back to what you said about starting watching because of the cycling, this was exactly me but got me thinking of starting running again after 30 years. Then, this led to me thinking of doing my first SUPBIKERUN run which I did message you about. Completed it two weeks ago and stayed with an inflatable for this year. Did 6k sup 40k bike and 10k run an completed it. I thank you for that. The biggest shock was I actually came second! Blown away. Maybe Hyrox next 💪 Cheers for the motivation fella 👍👍
I must say I came for the Running and loving your videos on it. It is so motivational. Now I signed up for my first Halfmarathon. But I really stayed when I first saw the binge eating Video. I've been struggeling (coming out of mild anorexia) with this kind of stuff now, because my body is afraid it will endure this extreme hunger again. It really resonated with me and I finally felt like somebody put into words what I was feeling. Keep up the great work and your running Videos!
Been watching since you were a young lad filming yourself playing video games. Still enjoy 100% of the content. Congrats on 100K, look forward to the bright future.

Mark can see how much effort you put in to your content was properly started in your FS history , given if you you hadn't planned and prepared probably for client meeting you don't get paid . But well done mate on the growth and I'm sure you know that past growth in no guarantee of future performance. Great job on the 100k. Like many commenters, I found this channel when I got into indoor cycling and quickly binged a boat-load of videos. Love the vids, especially the training clips.
Mark, congrats on the channel success. Your humor is very funny, and your approach to fitness is down to earth and appreciated in a space that is filled with Uber ego’s.
Hey Mark, I’ve been watching your videos since lockdown and bought a wahoo kickr since along with a bike. Hey Mark, thank you very much for these videos. I started running because of you a few months ago. I have just beaten my 5K PB and it is now at around 27:30 Minutes. 25 Minutes, I am coming!
Congrats on your success Mark. I’ve been watching you for the last two years since lock down and always thought you’d find success eventually with your down to earth approach to UA-cam. Thanks for all the entertainment and useful content you provide! Looking forward to seeing what you come up with for the rest of the year!
Congratulations on 100k subscribers! I discovered your channel literally last week (the Eliud Kipchoge video) and couldn't thank the universe more. I've learned a lot binging your videos for these several days. Also I quit smoking on Sunday and went for a run yesterday. So you are actually pushing people to be better and changing lives. Keep making great videos, Mark. Thank you! Update: ran my first half marathon on 2nd of October, the time: 2.00.44. Thank you again, Mark!
Thanks to everyone who ever clicked subscribe on here 🙏

Congratulations Mark, really pleased you've hit 100k, deserved success for sure. It proves how important a supportive partner is in achieving any goal.. thanks to Jenna for kicking your arse as needed.
Congratulations man. Very inspiring. You’ve quickly become one of my favorite UA-camrs. Motivating, hilarious, and down to Earth. Here’s to 200k! 🍻
I've been subscribed a few months. I have started running 5K's in the gym and really enjoy the content. For me it's spot on in a balance of advice , facts , humor etc. I think the 5K's in the gym indicate i have been influenced ..... dam you Lewis..
Hey Mark,
thank you very much for these videos. I started running because of you a few months ago. I have just beaten my 5K PB and it is now at around 27:30 Minutes. 25 Minutes, I am coming!
I’ve been there from the very beginning Mark and laughed and smiled many times, thanks for keeping it real, honest and funny.

Way cool, that you quit smoking on Sunday and went for a run. Congratulations on making a huge step toward becoming fit and healthy. 😄
