So, for the carefree melody--charms are created from the last wish of a dying bug (most of the time,) and it's implied that Brumm was enough of a separate entity that casting off the identity was tantamount to killing him, therefore the charm is Brumm's, not Nymm's. It's Brumm's last wish, so it's his face on it. The confusion is understandable, though.
Carefree Melody's name and appearance fit its _lore_ nearly perfectly, but its actual function does not, which is really the thing that doesn't fit about this charm lol. being able to more-or-less randomly negate a hit doesn't seem to have much to do with the Troupe lore, or even Brumm's lore.
hmmm maybe. Thats a good observation. But doesnt really signify the carefreeness of it. Like id prefer something more musical than just his face. You know. Again not that its bad! It's still good! its C tier. Only a FEW of these charms we consider out right bad.
Great video, I love a lot of these ideas brought up, especially with Shape of Unn. I love talking about design and symbolic value so I wanna offer some of my own input! Quick Focus: It looks like a lens, which would _focus_ light passing through it onto a more concentrated point (think using a magnifying glass to ignite stuff with sunlight). It’s making the light it takes in more efficient, so if this lens is taking in the Soul that you’re using, it would make you more efficient, and thus faster. Great design, looks really cool, and reflects the link between the crystals and focusing theme they were going for, A Tier. Carefree Melody: I love love love _love_ this charm, so there is some personal bias, but in terms of design I think it’s perfect. The reason it still looks Grimm-Troupe-esque is because Nymm is giving you his Brumm mask. Now that he’s been freed from the Nightmare Heart, he has no need for it and offers it to the Knight as a token of friendship, and it becomes a mantle of protection, which I think is so cool. The name, of course, comes from the fact that Nymm is now free, and he can play his accordion-bug carefree in his new home. So much cool storytelling here, S Tier. Greed: I actually like its design, and it really does look like a packed ball of Geo. Its gold color also lends to the greed aspect, it makes me think of like a Midas touch kinda thing. Dream Wielder: I think this is an S for me personally. It’s such a damn good charm so that sends it up in iconicity. Plus, the fact that it does look like a dreamcatcher I think adds to its design. At the point you get it you’ve seen enough of the dreamcatcher particles to know exactly what this charm is going to affect: your Dream Nail. Longnail/Mark of Pride: While on their own, neither of them give the vibe of nail-lengthening (though I do like your point about MoP coming from the mantises, who are known for having long-ranged nails), but they are consistent with each other. Both of them have this downward-arrow shaped notches going down the middle, and the edges going around Longnail evoke a similar shape as the mantis horns on MoP. That combined with its metallic color, Longnail looks like someone tried to replicate the mantises prized charm, but was less successful. Plus, when you reach the Mantis Village, you likely have already found Salubra and gotten Longnail, so when you see the similar design on Mark of Pride, you would already have a pretty good idea of what it does because of their design consistency. So, while in a vacuum they don’t really evoke what they do, the fact that they have that consistent design helps their form/function continuity. Grubsong: I like that the grub faces going around the edges look like a Roman laurel wreath, which evokes the idea that this is a reward for your service to the grubs.
You're points are very valid! When I make part 2 after I am don't my current video I'd love to see what you think of it then! Your quick focus point was especially interesting.
Interesting vid! Even though my personality tends to lean on the side of logic and numbers, I still appreciate the artistic side of things, so it was neat to hear others' perspectives--as well as point out things I never noticed! Some of my thoughts: - I think those ropes on Mark of Pride are supposed to represent the mantis's arms? Like, the center crest is her body and she's doing a pose (perhaps a gesture of respect like a salute). But one of the 'arms' does drape really far over the side, so I'm not so convinced. - I don't find that the spiral pattern directly correlates with soul, but instead with the Snail Shamans. Shaman, Catcher, and Eater all directly correlate with them in some way and thus have their appearance. The spirals on Unn could represent that Unn is a slug, which is _like_ a snail...though slugs don't have a shell, the one part that actually bears the spiral pattern. Hrm... - If I had to pick a charm that I like the most, purely by aesthetic value, it would have to be Strength. Factoring in the form vs. function requirement as well, it would be Hiveblood. The bright color scheme is really nice on an otherwise relatively dull palette.
i tried beating evrey boss on radiant and i did it but with absolute radiance i decided to count it as a win cuz this boss made me hate the entire game when i reach the climb phase the jump botton dose not work if that didn't happen she will just hit the same place twice and kill not only that but the beam brust killed me more than 3000times i didn't beat her on radiant but i beat her

I swear my brain is so rotted from that one dog water, dream song immediately thought of it as soon as I heard the word mask.
I am afraid that this is pointless because all of them look good
Well you'll hear some interesting takes believe me ;).
they're all so good that people have made entire patch kits with each and every charm.
they're just too good to be designed by a real human.
Special guest Nox, because she does the art and she can decide if things look good or bad, there's also Guy but he's a secondary character
Nox is not a girl. Lol they are non binary. :)

Greed looks like a big ball of geo and should be higher.
When I got it I immidietly noticed that it has something to do with geo, so in my opinion form does fit function. I also think that it looks good.
