Hear from Jeremy Lin, the NBA's hottest sensation. He talks about the racism he faced while attending Harvard and how he proved the doubters wrong about his basketball ability. Jeremy also shares about the importance of his Christian faith and how it puts everything he does in perspective.
Good Bless, J LIn...so very happy for that kid! Hardwork, faith, motivation and most of all patience will get you to wherever you want to go in life if it is God's will. Never give up. Got the opportunity and now he's exciting us all. #Linsanity
Why did they make fun of him? His eyes? I love them! They're pretty and unique. And his demeanor, personality, sense of humor, etc is so amazing it almost brings tears to my eyes. I would kill for a boyfriend like Jeremy Lin. It saddens me that this happens to someone like him. Class personified.....
You're a role-model in the eyes of so many NBA fans and aspiring NBA players, and you live up to your "lin" nick names every time I watch - even if you guys dont get a win every time. Your team is growing and becoming such a strong asset to the NBA and I'm so proud of you as a fan and as an asian american supporter. :) Thanks Lin for strengthening my love for this sport.
Great interview bro, thanks for sharing!
he is so humble n down to earth!! he is amazing!! so smart too!!!
I have so much respect for his humbleness. This guy is genuine.
WOW filled with truth and faith WOW LOVE HIM SO VERY MUCH!!!
What a polite and humble guy.
I finally found an interview with JL that focuses on his faith, that he prays all day long. Thanks for great work. I'm surprised you don't have a million looks.
young people of all races can look up to this intelligent and humble person.
Seriously I think the most important thing in this video is not about the religion. Jeremy Lin really inspires me about what he said "find your passion and go after it, don't ever let people tell you that you cannot do it" ,thank you jeremy!
were all on this earth for a purpose and he is the biggest example and inspiration i know
Jeremy has a good head on his shoulders which I think is rare to find in the NBA nowadays, and too know he's a Christian too is awesome. He's a real inspiration and a great player on the court.
i liked your interview. no one on tv would be blunt in saying or asking what type of racism their interviewee went through. jeremy lin seems like a humble, likable human being.
If it's anything that i love about this particular interview that Mr. Lin did is that he continuously gave thanks to God. As much as I'm a fan of another basketball team I have to give props where props is due, i hope he continues to let God lead him.

-Blessings!
im Asian from Taiwan just like Jeremy Lin!!im so proud of myself!
i love how lin speaks about god just faith oozing out of him he lifts my spirits high
Amen. Everything happens for a reason :) You're a good dude.
i love how he is so humblr on EVERYTHING! like he doesn't even insult the people who makes racist comment 0.0
Jeremy Lin is a true role model! He's been a gift to the NBA in so many ways. It stinks that's he out for the rest of the season, can't wait to see him own next season!!
#linspired all day
just a humble great guy
I'm proud of this kid. The racism to Asian American men can be quite brutal and baseless in the west and it can be devastating is he wasn't strong enough. That's what impresses me about J Lin, he had to overcome discrimination and prejudices in addition to other challenges. He's a great role model to all young Asian Americans.
I really enjoyed and was encouraged by this video. Good questions. I am glad that Jeremy is faithful to God and gives him all the glory. Hoping this will shine the light of God to those in America an in Asia for young people to put there trust in God. God is definately using him through the NBA and he is having fun during the whole process. Thank you Jeremy for shining your light without fear so that other may see the light of God. I am a pastor, father, and servant of God.
he's going to be a legend.
@choc0lee you're right in polite society it woudn't fly but in basketball and football its all about trash talkin nobody takes that shit to heart or they shouldn't be playin. it makes the good players just want to show em whats up and jeremy is stepping up and doing that.good for him he' a down to earth good kid . i love the fact that all the people that doubted him are being proved wrong.
I loveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee him.
humble and well spoken ^^
God is with you and undoubtedly using you!
God Bless Jeremy. I'm just discovering him.
so humble and understanding...keep continuing to prove them wrong Lin:)
I really adore this man
WTF? IMAN said I don’t know if there’s will be a Shumpsanity, but LINSANITY, that was an incredible experience. It was actually a humbling one, because when you saw how Jeremy took it, it was like they played him all day on TV & if he came in, he made us turn it off. He tries to block it out. He's like SO selfless. He didn't want us to feel like he was caught up in that. He's like “Let’s just win, I don’t care!” He's humble, selfless, generous, fressh, it's an honor to have a positive AZNAMERICAN.
this guy is so amazing. he's honest even for racial slur thing when people make fun of him. He speaks softly and humbly.
god bless you jeremy
I'm not a big fan of the Knicks, but i respect Jeremy Lin and what he is doing. He is a very big role model towards many people, Asian-American and non Asian-American.
Jeremy Lin is so humble, smart, sweet & soft-spoken... d:o) d:o) d:o)
Glory be to God. Thank you Jeremy. Congratulations on being the most famous basketball player in the world......you have done in ONE WEEK what has taken other years in the NBA. Thumbs up if Jeremy's story has motivated and blessed you
@dixie11 Yes, that is true, but the fact that there are so many more talented PGs in the league will be what strengthens him.
What a great role model! God Bless you Jeremy!
i love u jeremy lin !!
i remember this :)
go LInsanity!! proud Taiwanese background. He is very much like my expereince. i am also from Taiwan of origin. when i played with black guys or white guys in USA, they always teased me. depite i was the best point guards and i had such good vision when i am on basketball court. but every game i beat them up badly. then they started to use all the knees and pushing ...etc. i got bit scared to get more injuries. go Asians are too quick and smart. i like Lin's humble, clean cut , no tatoos
@TheChristylulu I think the interviewer just wanted to gauge how Jeremy Lin would react to that word. And like everything else that has come his way so far, I think Jeremy Lin handled it with grace. He's truly a pioneer.
He is an inspiration.
beautiful person, Jeremy Lin
@grizzlyman351 I know right! And as I'm chinese, I really think we need more role models like him.
Although I am an Asian myself, I don't look up to Lin because he's of such descent, I look up to him because he's a God-fearing man.
I'm hoping in the future more Asian Americans are playing in the NBA, and by that time Jeremy Lin is an all star and can be a role and mentor figure for these emerging players. As of now Lin is still establishing himself and growing into a solid player while making history. It would be great to see in the future that having Asian Americans in the NBA is considered normal rather than the huge surprise and media phenomenon that is currently being displayed.
@penrun I understand your discomfort, we've all heard people say things as if they have to, as if it's part of the program. But this man strikes me as someone who is genuinely humble, one who recognizes that his talents are a "gift" (to use a common expression) and therefore something to be thankful for. How can anyone hold those things against him?
U deserve it jeremy!!!
@quanmansports so we conclude that he worked hard, and then it all makes perfect sense!
Asian-American is a phrase that means someone born in the U.S. of Asian heritage. Yao was born in China and came to the U.S. only because of the NBA.
im middle eastern american and i root for this guy too
😍 I'm in LOVE
@quanmansports Amen!
He worked hard to get where he was. Give the guy some credit.
The thing that's kind of cool with Jeremy Lin being criticized for his Christian beliefs or his Christianity being a platform from which the antireligious can heap insults is that allegations of being "irrational," "outdated," "stupid," etc. don't come up as often - they're shot down quite quickly with a simple "When did you graduate from Harvard?"
@HypnoDowns Don't tell him what he can or can't thank. If he chooses to be humble and thank god for his accomplishments, then that's his choice. His humbleness is a major reason why so many people like him.
@penrun Everyone has their opinion, but the improbability of Jeremy Lin's story is so great that even the most hardened skeptics have been given reason to wonder if another power is at work here.
Classy guy
Good for him. I must admit that I'm always uncomfortable around evangelicals because they tend to come across as judging others who are less overt about their faith... but for Lin, he uses it as a means to be humble and thankful. Nothing wrong with that. Hopefully he's not a flash in the pan and goes on to have a long career.
This was a great story and J Lin does have some game but the media attention he has seen since his boom in the NBA can be viewed negative just as much positive, in D antoni's system without scorers like Amare and Carmelo he stood out because of his smarts and poise on the court but his flaws are there and although he is only a rookie it will be important for him to keep getting better because the NBA is full of PG's that are more talented then he is, give him lot of credit for being a classy guy
Being pleased and being proud are two different things. Please learn to use simple words before you call someone else stupid.
Thanks Rick for this interview. Very encouraging to see Jeremy humbly acknowledging the Lord who gave him ability and talent. I've just read this interview with Jeremy

From Russia with love,
Kostya
did anyone see ping pong playa? im not trying to be racist or anything but lin reminds me of that guy he sounds like him too
swag!!!!!!!!
@quanmansports Well said, Rick. Thank you.
this is gonna be my daily pre-workout video
Hopefully much more Asian-Americans find inspiration through Jeremy Lin, and go for NBA try-outs!
Interviewer, as well as everyone else, knew what word was used to racially taunt Jeremy. There was absolutely no need to "know how bad the taunts were." You made Jeremy uncomfortable and pressured him by constantly asking about that. Otherwise, great interview. Insightful questions about his journey. Linsanity!
Jeremy, embrace your opportunity!
BIG THUMBS for him being a man of God!!!
@DJmixmastermicro tyyyyyyy
@quanmansports so we conclude that he worked hard, then it all makes sense!
@MissedTheMark I think the interviewer was right on to ask the racial questions. Jeremy knows that racism is out there and he is comfortable in who he is. Being Asian american myself i think it was a great question IMHO.
I really like J Lin. I am happy he is representing what can happen in sports. There can be good players on bench underestimated of their capabilities bc they aren't big names. & playing them for 1 minute &them performing crap can't really show how good they are on a overall stretch. I also feel sad the racism he felt overall bt gettin it from the very people who also went thru that. It's sad. & Y does his religion matter? His skills shud matter. Well ppl r entitled to their own opinions
All things will work together for good to those that love God. Amen Amen
@HypnoDowns yeah that's true.
He's a Christian! Wow, God bless you Jeremy Lin!! :) Huge fan here!!
another story of how God uses the underdog to bring glory to his name much love and respect!!
right at 2:55 after he says "but" he should have said "Look at me now!!!"
@APBTisBeast I'm a believer of christianity and I agree with you. His humbleness comes from his personality. He just credits everything he does and everything he's given to God.
i think it's because of his parents, his parents are born and grew up in Taiwan and so he has taiwanese's blood,so ppl start calling him a taiwan's star just because his parents came from Taiwan,i know it doesnt make sense because only his parents are Taiwanese-American and he is fully american
Harvard fans didn't taunt him, but fans from other Ivy League teams.
Yao was big when he came in. its been over 10 years since then. Kinda one of those one hit wonder fads i guess.
@SouLoveReal Jeremy Lin is so handsome, intelligent, skillful and humble. I am in Love
connect
lin is pretty cool guy
i wonder if the interviewer kept a straight face when he heard "sweet and sour pork"
@daylightttttt is the interviewer's job to only talk about what the interviewee wants to talk about? No of course not. when people do that in politics it's called a softball. Anyway, Jeremy is an awesome guy and the fact that he doesn't make a big deal out of what happened just shows his humility. I think it was a great interview.
Haters gon hate...Asian or not, he'd still ball you up!
Jeremy, you're my inspiration.
I know a very good Filipino pound for pound boxer... and he is very Christian.
I do not think he is soft as well.
he looks like a fresh of the boat asian but hes not haha... but good job bro! youre an inspiration to me! we asians need more recognition!!!
That's the whole point about Jeremy Lin is that he was born in America. Yao was born in China and is now retired.
I have the same question as yours.
@penrun incredible that people are so up in arms about this that they are removing comments... yours and mine. I question whether "out of line" is the phrase you want. David Cross has failed to come to my notice; it's not my responsibility to go looking for him.
Taiwanese people typically speak Mandarin or the Minnan dialect.
i was deeply bugged and felt sorry hearing the host so inquisitive for racial slurs.
but Jeremy is an amazing dude that his heart goes after the God who transcends (while not overlooking) ethnic boundaries. only by contrast with the host's biased perspective can you see how bright is Jeremy's virtue of faith (but Jeremy you gotta stay humble as always).
@gmd91150 No where in the story did i say Jeremy is the first Asian American in the NBA. There was a graphic saying he was the first Chinese American in the NBA. Wat Misaka is Japanese American. I have met Wat before and interviewed him as well. Before you start lashing out, please check your facts. Thank you.
Keep fighting Jeremy, I've fought racism all my life..I live in a black neighborhood with the black supremacy group Nation of Islam right down on my street corner handing out hate newspapers. People hate and harass me and threaten my life all the time, at work I am labeled a racist for telling an employee they need to be in the room and work. I got flack from my boss and was told they should be able to be out of the room. I am Christian as well and I receive hate for my conservative views
