The Legends of Runeterra cinematics are meant to introduce the different regions and give you an impression about the general vibe/story and the people of the region. Of course some of the typical champions from that region are in it ;). Generally, they are called champions in the game but they all are legends as well so you are both right. The main game is called "League of Legends - Clash of Fates" I am surprised you didn't recognize Vander's voice actor JB in this ;D He also voices the champion called "Braum" with hte ice shield ability from the Freljord cinematic :D The Legends of Runeterra cinematic are all very good but my personal favorite is the "Don't mess with Yordles" - I love that one :D
Yeah, the skeleton-like guy, Thresh, and Viego, the one you saw in previous video have the same colour palette (mainly the glowy green) because they're both from the Shadow Isles, that's what most of them look like. The Shadow Isles characters tend to be evil, but there are also good ones, Gwen is a good example for that! She's really cheerful :3
Hah, every reaction I see people feel like Ekko got deprived - nobody seems to acknowledge that the actual power cell was first built by Heimerdinger, then modified by Jinx before falling into Ekko's hands, only to be improved upon by Heimerdinger again. The theme of the short is supposed to be showcasing that genius can come from many places and how cooperation can produce something better than the sum of its parts.
6:50 in the game they're called Champions but you can also call them legends in the original lore they're all "legends" from the past and they're summoned to the summoner's rift to fight each other but that's been retconned a long time ago
So a bit of context since you reacted to multiple videos already: around 2014 Riot decided to do a complete Lore reboot .... creating a singular world for the main champion versions in the game and separating the game and the story ... while before the game of LoL was actually part of the story it was no longer directly connected to this new universe ... outside of the characters from the world being in the game. That is why in the older trailers like New Dawn and Twist of Fate which you watched fell more like team fights than actual stories .. while the later slowly become more story oriented. In this newer Story set in the world newly named Runeterra, the most significant event was a cataclysmic magical conflict called the Rune Wars where mages used shards of powerful magical runes called World Runes since it is said they were used by celestial being to create the world of Runeterra ... for war causing incredible destruction and suffering - a glimpse of this can be seen in Call of Power cinematic you saw previously ... Ryze the blue mage is collecting these Runes to hide them away and keep them from being used. From the chaos of these Rune Wars that happened around 900 years ago and that destroyed most of the existing civilizations on the continent at the time 2 main powers emerged The Kingdom of Knights and Valor Demacia ... and the Militaristic and Expansionist Empire of Noxus The Kingdom of Demacia in the west- originally just the good guys in the new story were made more complex with their new backstory. Demacia was founded by non magic people fleeing the abuses by mages during the war, specifically black mages pursuing them that wanted to use them for experiments and rituals. They ended up in a forest of giant stone like trees, where surprisingly the mages lost their power and were killed by the refugees, who decided to settle down in the forest as their refuge from the abuses of mages and magic. This with other event that made the Demacians while otherwise valiant a honorable as seen in their Tales video, hate magic and mages with a passion. The issue is magic is natural to humans in this world so mages are born in the kingdom all the time ... this leads to some pretty awful stuff. (think Conversion therapy, imprisonment, even execution) - This led to a Mage rebellion currently ongoing. The Empire of Noxus in the east and spanning a large part of the continent - originally just the bad guys they were given more positive aspects in the new lore, as seen in their Tales... In the face of the Rune Wars the aggressive Noxi Tribes retreated into the Immortal Bastion a great magically protected fortress that would become the center of their capital and empire ... once the wars ended they emerged and since the surrounding were not fertile enough and because they were always warlike and aggressive the Tribe started conquering surrounding land and expanding their newly founded empire with one of their ambition being uniting all other nations under one banner by any means necessary , but while brutal, aggressive there is an equalitarian spirit in the empire based around might makes right ... and anyone is welcome to rise in Noxus. Their Expansion West was stopped when they encountered Demacia who was able not jut to resist but drive them back somewhat. this led Noxus after a lot of time spent fighting Demacia refocus elsewhere which culminated in the Invasion of Ionia. The invasion started some 10 years ago and by the time it ended Noxus shown just how bad their leadership at the time was with child soldiers , chemical weapons, massacres and even using their own soldiers to bait the enemy and unleashing the chemical weapons upon everyone even their own. This Lead to a coup against the Ruler and the establishment of a ruling council by one General Swain, Darius is now part of the council ... and many reforms happening as a result of this change in power ... but the Empire still has ambition for world conquest even with this new leadership ... The Shadow Isles are a region that is tied to the Rune Wars ... Originally a nation of magic called the Blessed Isles they made it one of their mission to prevent the misuse of magical artifact, including the World Runes ... this came to an end a 1000 years ago, when Viego a king of Camavore on a distant eastern continent came to the isles with the aim of reviving his dead wife who was killed in an assassination attempt on Viego himself. The leaders of the Isles refused saying such an act would be against the natural laws and would in disaster .. Viego who previously was obsessively in love with his queen by this point was mad with grief and he unleashed his army on the capital of the Isles sacking it ... With the help of a traitorous warden form the isles he reached the blessed waters at the center of the city and attempted to bring his love back ... it ended in a catastrophe known as the Ruination everyone on the isles except 2 beings was turned into undead spirits and monsters and the land shrouded in Black Mist... except 2 beings ... and Viego was transformed into the Ruined King and the source of the mist ... while the soul of his queen was scattered to the winds .... the treacherous Warden was turned into the monster you saw in their Tales called Tresh the Chainwarden who takes the souls of people puts them into his lantern where they are constantly suffering. With the destruction of the Blessed Isle and only a few survivors whou were outside of the land when it was destroyed, there was few who could stop the rediscovery and abuse of the Runes and the resulting Rune Wars one of the survivors was Ryzes master who would teach him magic - but ended up being corrupted by a rune himself and Ryze had to kill him to stop him, this left Ryze to carry on the work of preventing the misuse of the Rune shard for the last few centuries ... Other survivors banded together and created an order dedicated to fighting the Undead of the Shadow Isles and stopping the mist the Sentinels of Light, their headquarters ending up in Demacia ... Lucian and Senna are members of this order ... Frelyord is an old region that is rough and stubborn and resist conquest and its people are as the land ... the Region is home to old godlike beings that in the past shaped the land one of them is Volibear a great bear whose worshipers you saw in The Call video ... the god himself is canonically big as a mountain, closer in size to the shadow outline created by lightning shown in The Call video. Another is the goat like blacksmith god Ornn that was also shown in The Call. another a bird made of Ice called Anivia The land also has people who have ice powers called Iceborn and they can wield weapons of what is call True Ice ... this is magical ice that if held by someone who is not Iceborn would kill them. Braum the man in the tales is one of such Iceborn and his shield has true ice in it ... its why it was powerful enough to hold back an avalanche .. And the line about being family is not a that much of a streach as in the distant past the whole land was ruled by 3 Sisters ...
@@SpartanandPudgey only thing this amazing paragraph left out is the Aniva, Ornn, and Volibear are siblings. But they all have different approaches when it comes to mortals. Volibear believes in "Survival of the Fittest", he believes mortals should have to overcome hardships to stay strong and goes out of his way to make their lives more difficult. While Ornn is more like Hephaestus or Prometheus from Greek lore. Not personally fighting most of the time but bestowing gifts like weapons (which he swore off for a while, until recently with the upcoming conflict) and magical items that make life easier. This is what lead to the conflict in "The Call" cinematic as Volibear was angry with Ornn at one time because he made a cauldron/pot that one sip or nibble of the food produced inside will keep you fed and healthy for days. This caused Volibear to have his followers you saw in The Call named the Ursai on Ornn's followers, wiping them out and stealing the cauldron. This info is brought to Sajauni's attention by a lone survivor. Even though she and her tribe can loosely be called followers of Volibear, but a harsh Winter (which is saying something in the Freljord) forced her to covet the cauldron to ensure her tribe's survival. And Anivia is a benevolent protector of travelers and others in the Feljord.

I would watch all the videos in the playlist whether they have tales or not, since their stories and/or still give insight to different aspects of the world
I work in lighting for film. I'd recommend using 3-point lighting for best results. Doesn't have to be anything fancy, just make sure your lights are all similar colour temperature (collour quality of the light; 3200K is like a lightbulb, 5600K is like daylight), as it will make it easier to colour correct later in post. Id also recommend putting your key light (main front light) on an angle so that you don't get reflections off of Pudgey's glasses. It also gives more interesting lighting and less "flat" look on your faces. Next, if it is needed (you probably wont need one) use a "fill" light as an accent light, or to fill any shadows that the key light is casting. Lastly, use a "back light" to light the back of your shoulders and head; this will help to separate you from the background. Make sure you use diffused lighting source ( think a lamp with a lamp shade) instead of a direct lighting source (think a flashlight), as the direct lighting will be harsh looking. You can achieve diffused lighting by shining your light through something white like a sheet of parchment paper, or bed sheet, or wax paper, or by bouncing your light off of the wall, or a flat white surface.
@@SpartanandPudgey np, it was kind of a really condensed version, so if you've got any questions feel free to ask. I forgot to mention, you also, you might want to consider either switching your background to a flat solid colour (a wall or taut bed sheet), or have something uniform, neat, and intentional looking (like a bookshelf, or something), and lighting it well (if you want to get stylized and fancy, you can get creative with different colored light in the background to complete the overall colour palette/ look you're trying to achieve.) Keeping the background neat and uniform will help to keep your outlines from becoming muddled or washed out by clutter (you're trying to achieve the opposite of what camouflage is used for) . Lastly, Pudgey, watch out for that computer screen reflection, it is covering up your eyes and those are the most important features to capture on camera! PS: love your guys content. I like your honesty and insights. I loved Arcane but liked hearing the things you didn't enjoy, along with those things to did. It's nice to see different opinions and new insights on media! Keep up the good work!

if you want a bigger overview of runeterras history i really reccomend Necrits lore-video on the history of league of legends. its a great explanation on how the world works and some of the things that has happened in its timeline that makes the world what it is. it will show you the true potential that the world of runeterra has and that Arcane can grow into this Mcu-style universe.
Also, you’ve seen the shadow isles before, that’s where Lucian and senna were, those two were trying prevent the black mist from spreading, like ya saw in the ruination video
Demacia is your typical noble knights with swords and shields. 0 mages policy, they hate them because of the rune wars (Heimerdinger's and Ryze's flashbacks). They're the rival nation of Noxus. Garden is the most iconic from there, your big boi big sword. Noxus, always expanding borders because their mainland is a barren wasteland too sterile to grow anything. (I think this is also because of the rune wars, there's a giant crater near the capital where a mage nuked the zone in those wars, could be the same as those mentioned flashbacks). However they accept anyone with the strength for their empire, doesn't matter the race or if you are mage. Darius the iconic big boi with big axe, he and garen are considered rivals. Shadow Isles, this is the region where all black mist, ruination, and harrowing videos come from. If you see this greenish cyan tone, it is related to the Shadow realm (However there are champions with that tone like Mordekaiser who aren't from the Shadow Isles, but are still connected to the Shadow realm). From here you've seen Thresh, the warden, fighting Lucian, and you also saw Viego, the ruined king. Freljord, your typical Norse inspired region. The humans that come from here are stronger than normal humans, because they are frostborn, and that's a requirement for wielding true ice weapons. They're divided in three major tribes, the avarosan, the frost guard, and the winter claw. These three tribes come from the three sisters of Freljord: Avarosa, Serylda and Lissandra. You've seen the current Winter claw leader, Sejuani, in the Call cinematic. The Avarosan are led by Ashe, a frost archer, she has a true ice bow that belonged to Avarosa. And the Frost Guard is led by none other than the Ice Witch: Lissandra herself. Idk who's the most iconic from here, maybe Ashe or Braum, the big guy with the shield in this cinematic. He is the most pure hearted in the world. Also, the other girl in this cinematic isn't a champion, these tales of Runeterra were made for the release of Legends of Runeterra, the card game. This doesn't have all the champions from league, but has a lot of other cards with characters and creatures from the regions, this game really expanded a lot in the world and lore, more than league. If you want to enhance the lore in this regions, check out Shambits Gaming videos on the regions you want, they're really friendly for newcomers. Also, idk if you saw it but there are some Legends of Runeterra expansion cinematics, one in Shurima and another with Ekko, idk if those are in the playlist you are using.
Better to choose noxus than demacia, noxus gives opportunity to everyone even to former slaves to prove their strength mentally or physically to gain power but they'll bring you down if you're abusive and greedy. On the other hand, demacia is good and non-violent(for those non-magic wielders) on their people but they doesn't treat mages good, they hunt them to imprison, kill or torture them even though they're their fellow country men because they are afraid of magic.
Tales of Runeterra shows sort of a 'platonic ideal' of each area, without showing a lot of the nuance. Sort of giving a "this is their essence, below all the messy interactions getting in the way" type thing. Noxious is an extreme meritocracy, where success is based on the talent and effort you put in, Demacia is a soaring beacon of personal improvement and duty to all, Freljord is families stick together as one and Piltover is progress made through collaboration and inventiveness is recognised by even though on different sides. All of these locations have underlying, less idealised sides, but as Arcane showed, thats probably best explored in a longer series :D
Noxus doesnt believe in Royalty etc. they believe in "Survival of the fittest" they also arent ruled by one guy but several that rose to power through diffrent means, in theory even a beggar can rise to power in noxus if he proves himself and becomes strong enough.
I said this before and I'll say it again Arcane is not in the same universe as the League of Legends game in the canon lore. The best way to think about it is that Arcane is in a alternate reality or Universe then The Leauge of Legends game in the canon lore.
Riot is like Mr.Retcon. Until LoL series come to the aftermath of the Ionian War is when they’ll probably make series lore canon. Their lore has been needing fixing since the beginning
in arcane they were about to vote for the emancipation of zaun when jinx put a rocket in the counsil. in lore zaun already is a city-state soon as piltover.
the piltover & zaun thing has always been nice for me... cause that's how scientific discovery works... scientific collaboration... jinx did the thrust, ekko did the body, and heimerdinger did the calibration...
Demacia is an interesting place, though the people are biased against mages. Their cities, armors, weapons, etcetera, are all made from petricite; a magic absorbing, living stone. After mages destroyed, well a lot actually, they sought refuge in the petricite forest and developed the civilization there. They try to be noble, but they're a bit closed minded. Freljord is far to the north. It is extremely cold and a harsh place to live. The people there are separated into three major tribes. Braum (pronounced Brahm), the big guy with the enormous "shield", is one of the most kind hearted champions you'd meet. I say shield in quotations because it's a door. The 3 tribes are constantly fighting because of their different ideologies. The Shadow Isles were once known as the Blessed Isles. They housed great knowledge and secrets, guarded by the people there. Until Viego came, trying to revive his dead wife. Thresh, or what he's known now as, was a warden that showed Viego how to bring his wife back. It went horribly wrong. The isles are now just a place of restless dead that try to steal souls to add to their numbers. The skeleton guy is Thresh and he loves to torment people by taking their loved ones and leaving one behind, which is what happened with Senna and Lucian. Noxis is a war-like country. It's always trying to expand its territory. Unlike Demacia, Noxis embraces magic and mages, but it's not without a downside. You have to be useful, otherwise you get nothing. A bit long, and definitely not the most detailed, but I hope that helps a little.
The girl that got beheaded in Mel's flashback wasn't killed for stealing anything. Noxus conquered a kingdom and that girl was somehow related to the old regime. She was killed so she would be able to rally her people to rebel against Noxian rule.
Noxus is all about power, its thematic leans towards old Rome. Noxus is also about conquest, its currently in war with Ionia. Everyone who is Noxian Citzien has Rights and is respect if he proves his Strength to the state and its Ideals, but everyone else is getting anihillated. Also Noxus is constantly doin War crimes, like using poisen, gas etc. And they do some super cruel Experiments on some of their soldier, childeren, if they think they might get something out of it. Rell is an exampele for these Experiments
If one day you will react to Fiddlesticks' cinematic "Terror In demacia" you should do it together with his in-game dialogues/vocelines because those are disturbing and fascinating. GREAT REACTION GUYS
Definitely watch the others in the playlist, too, although it does not have the "tales" in the name, they are stories, too. But I think you can skip the "new expansion" parts.
I doubt they beheaded the girl because she stole food, they beheaded her because she was caught. That might seem to be a difference without a distinction, but it would be an important one in Noxus.
Medarda in Arcane didn't execute the girl for a crime. She executed the girl because she was a princess, and a rightful claimant to an inherited title. This means in the girl's political system, she's a massive threat to the Noxians. Ending her, and her lineage, means all that remains is the newly established Noxian republic. The ruthlessness Noxians display is calculated to destroy their political enemies, which is why they were merciful and even magnanimous to those who surrendered in the Tale of Runeterra - they were no longer a threat.

everyone who watches this animation of noxus (who doesn't know the story) thinks they're good guys or something, the problem is that darius didn't complete the sentence "noxus offers 'freedom' and power to those strong enough to take it, however on the contrary you will become a slave or war machine for experiments or simply thrown on the streets and live in hunger and misery"
they are called champions not legends. in the video "the Raid" the white haired woman isent a champion in the game, only "Braum" the big buff guy with the mustache, and theyre relatives, not a couple
Demacia has a lot of lore about how they are EXTREMELY anti-magic and hate mages and all this stuff. So honestly, compared to all the other cinematics, the Demacian one was done very poorly and doesn't give much lore at all.
Demacia is far from a heroic nation and more like a nation stuck in its old traditions I mean if ur born a mage in demacia u will go to prison immediately bcs they do not like mages or sry not dislike more like hate mages. And yet garens sword is imbued with magic lol hypocrites much?

In the face of the Rune Wars the aggressive Noxi Tribes retreated into the Immortal Bastion a great magically protected fortress that would become the center of their capital and empire ... once the wars ended they emerged and since the surrounding were not fertile enough and because they were always warlike and aggressive the Tribe started conquering surrounding land and expanding their newly founded empire with one of their ambition being uniting all other nations under one banner by any means necessary , but while brutal, aggressive there is an equalitarian spirit in the empire based around might makes right ... and anyone is welcome to rise in Noxus. Their Expansion West was stopped when they encountered Demacia who was able not jut to resist but drive them back somewhat. this led Noxus after a lot of time spent fighting Demacia refocus elsewhere which culminated in the Invasion of Ionia.
The invasion started some 10 years ago and by the time it ended Noxus shown just how bad their leadership at the time was with child soldiers , chemical weapons, massacres and even using their own soldiers to bait the enemy and unleashing the chemical weapons upon everyone even their own. This Lead to a coup against the Ruler and the establishment of a ruling council by one General Swain, Darius is now part of the council ... and many reforms happening as a result of this change in power ... but the Empire still has ambition for world conquest even with this new leadership ...
The Shadow Isles are a region that is tied to the Rune Wars ... Originally a nation of magic called the Blessed Isles they made it one of their mission to prevent the misuse of magical artifact, including the World Runes ... this came to an end a 1000 years ago, when Viego a king of Camavore on a distant eastern continent came to the isles with the aim of reviving his dead wife who was killed in an assassination attempt on Viego himself. The leaders of the Isles refused saying such an act would be against the natural laws and would in disaster .. Viego who previously was obsessively in love with his queen by this point was mad with grief and he unleashed his army on the capital of the Isles sacking it ... With the help of a traitorous warden form the isles he reached the blessed waters at the center of the city and attempted to bring his love back ... it ended in a catastrophe known as the Ruination everyone on the isles except 2 beings was turned into undead spirits and monsters and the land shrouded in Black Mist... except 2 beings ... and Viego was transformed into the Ruined King and the source of the mist ... while the soul of his queen was scattered to the winds .... the treacherous Warden was turned into the monster you saw in their Tales called Tresh the Chainwarden who takes the souls of people puts them into his lantern where they are constantly suffering. With the destruction of the Blessed Isle and only a few survivors whou were outside of the land when it was destroyed, there was few who could stop the rediscovery and abuse of the Runes and the resulting Rune Wars
one of the survivors was Ryzes master who would teach him magic - but ended up being corrupted by a rune himself and Ryze had to kill him to stop him, this left Ryze to carry on the work of preventing the misuse of the Rune shard for the last few centuries ...
Other survivors banded together and created an order dedicated to fighting the Undead of the Shadow Isles and stopping the mist the Sentinels of Light, their headquarters ending up in Demacia ... Lucian and Senna are members of this order ...
Frelyord is an old region that is rough and stubborn and resist conquest and its people are as the land ... the Region is home to old godlike beings that in the past shaped the land one of them is Volibear a great bear whose worshipers you saw in The Call video ... the god himself is canonically big as a mountain, closer in size to the shadow outline created by lightning shown in The Call video. Another is the goat like blacksmith god Ornn that was also shown in The Call. another a bird made of Ice called Anivia
The land also has people who have ice powers called Iceborn and they can wield weapons of what is call True Ice ... this is magical ice that if held by someone who is not Iceborn would kill them. Braum the man in the tales is one of such Iceborn and his shield has true ice in it ... its why it was powerful enough to hold back an avalanche ..
And the line about being family is not a that much of a streach as in the distant past the whole land was ruled by 3 Sisters ...

@@SpartanandPudgey only thing this amazing paragraph left out is the Aniva, Ornn, and Volibear are siblings. But they all have different approaches when it comes to mortals.
Volibear believes in "Survival of the Fittest", he believes mortals should have to overcome hardships to stay strong and goes out of his way to make their lives more difficult.
While Ornn is more like Hephaestus or Prometheus from Greek lore. Not personally fighting most of the time but bestowing gifts like weapons (which he swore off for a while, until recently with the upcoming conflict) and magical items that make life easier.
This is what lead to the conflict in "The Call" cinematic as Volibear was angry with Ornn at one time because he made a cauldron/pot that one sip or nibble of the food produced inside will keep you fed and healthy for days.
This caused Volibear to have his followers you saw in The Call named the Ursai on Ornn's followers, wiping them out and stealing the cauldron. This info is brought to Sajauni's attention by a lone survivor.
Even though she and her tribe can loosely be called followers of Volibear, but a harsh Winter (which is saying something in the Freljord) forced her to covet the cauldron to ensure her tribe's survival.
And Anivia is a benevolent protector of travelers and others in the Feljord.
Braum's Voice Actor (The bald guy with a shield) is the same Voice actor of Vander
I was excited when they were talking about how they liked his voice, and i was curious if anyone got to mention to them that he is the voice of Vander too

I work in lighting for film. I'd recommend using 3-point lighting for best results. Doesn't have to be anything fancy, just make sure your lights are all similar colour temperature (collour quality of the light; 3200K is like a lightbulb, 5600K is like daylight), as it will make it easier to colour correct later in post.
Id also recommend putting your key light (main front light) on an angle so that you don't get reflections off of Pudgey's glasses. It also gives more interesting lighting and less "flat" look on your faces.
Next, if it is needed (you probably wont need one) use a "fill" light as an accent light, or to fill any shadows that the key light is casting.
Lastly, use a "back light" to light the back of your shoulders and head; this will help to separate you from the background.
Make sure you use diffused lighting source ( think a lamp with a lamp shade) instead of a direct lighting source (think a flashlight), as the direct lighting will be harsh looking. You can achieve diffused lighting by shining your light through something white like a sheet of parchment paper, or bed sheet, or wax paper, or by bouncing your light off of the wall, or a flat white surface.

I forgot to mention, you also, you might want to consider either switching your background to a flat solid colour (a wall or taut bed sheet), or have something uniform, neat, and intentional looking (like a bookshelf, or something), and lighting it well (if you want to get stylized and fancy, you can get creative with different colored light in the background to complete the overall colour palette/ look you're trying to achieve.) Keeping the background neat and uniform will help to keep your outlines from becoming muddled or washed out by clutter (you're trying to achieve the opposite of what camouflage is used for) . Lastly, Pudgey, watch out for that computer screen reflection, it is covering up your eyes and those are the most important features to capture on camera!
PS: love your guys content. I like your honesty and insights. I loved Arcane but liked hearing the things you didn't enjoy, along with those things to did. It's nice to see different opinions and new insights on media! Keep up the good work!

if you want a bigger overview of runeterras history i really reccomend Necrits lore-video on the history of league of legends. its a great explanation on how the world works and some of the things that has happened in its timeline that makes the world what it is. it will show you the true potential that the world of runeterra has and that Arcane can grow into this Mcu-style universe.

Demacia is your typical noble knights with swords and shields. 0 mages policy, they hate them because of the rune wars (Heimerdinger's and Ryze's flashbacks). They're the rival nation of Noxus. Garden is the most iconic from there, your big boi big sword.
Noxus, always expanding borders because their mainland is a barren wasteland too sterile to grow anything. (I think this is also because of the rune wars, there's a giant crater near the capital where a mage nuked the zone in those wars, could be the same as those mentioned flashbacks). However they accept anyone with the strength for their empire, doesn't matter the race or if you are mage. Darius the iconic big boi with big axe, he and garen are considered rivals.
Shadow Isles, this is the region where all black mist, ruination, and harrowing videos come from. If you see this greenish cyan tone, it is related to the Shadow realm (However there are champions with that tone like Mordekaiser who aren't from the Shadow Isles, but are still connected to the Shadow realm). From here you've seen Thresh, the warden, fighting Lucian, and you also saw Viego, the ruined king.
Freljord, your typical Norse inspired region. The humans that come from here are stronger than normal humans, because they are frostborn, and that's a requirement for wielding true ice weapons. They're divided in three major tribes, the avarosan, the frost guard, and the winter claw. These three tribes come from the three sisters of Freljord: Avarosa, Serylda and Lissandra. You've seen the current Winter claw leader, Sejuani, in the Call cinematic. The Avarosan are led by Ashe, a frost archer, she has a true ice bow that belonged to Avarosa. And the Frost Guard is led by none other than the Ice Witch: Lissandra herself. Idk who's the most iconic from here, maybe Ashe or Braum, the big guy with the shield in this cinematic. He is the most pure hearted in the world.
Also, the other girl in this cinematic isn't a champion, these tales of Runeterra were made for the release of Legends of Runeterra, the card game. This doesn't have all the champions from league, but has a lot of other cards with characters and creatures from the regions, this game really expanded a lot in the world and lore, more than league.
If you want to enhance the lore in this regions, check out Shambits Gaming videos on the regions you want, they're really friendly for newcomers.
Also, idk if you saw it but there are some Legends of Runeterra expansion cinematics, one in Shurima and another with Ekko, idk if those are in the playlist you are using.
Better to choose noxus than demacia, noxus gives opportunity to everyone even to former slaves to prove their strength mentally or physically to gain power but they'll bring you down if you're abusive and greedy. On the other hand, demacia is good and non-violent(for those non-magic wielders) on their people but they doesn't treat mages good, they hunt them to imprison, kill or torture them even though they're their fellow country men because they are afraid of magic.
Tales of Runeterra shows sort of a 'platonic ideal' of each area, without showing a lot of the nuance. Sort of giving a "this is their essence, below all the messy interactions getting in the way" type thing.
Noxious is an extreme meritocracy, where success is based on the talent and effort you put in, Demacia is a soaring beacon of personal improvement and duty to all, Freljord is families stick together as one and Piltover is progress made through collaboration and inventiveness is recognised by even though on different sides.
All of these locations have underlying, less idealised sides, but as Arcane showed, thats probably best explored in a longer series :D

I said this before and I'll say it again Arcane is not in the same universe as the League of Legends game in the canon lore. The best way to think about it is that Arcane is in a alternate reality or Universe then The Leauge of Legends game in the canon lore.

Demacia is an interesting place, though the people are biased against mages. Their cities, armors, weapons, etcetera, are all made from petricite; a magic absorbing, living stone. After mages destroyed, well a lot actually, they sought refuge in the petricite forest and developed the civilization there. They try to be noble, but they're a bit closed minded.
Freljord is far to the north. It is extremely cold and a harsh place to live. The people there are separated into three major tribes. Braum (pronounced Brahm), the big guy with the enormous "shield", is one of the most kind hearted champions you'd meet. I say shield in quotations because it's a door. The 3 tribes are constantly fighting because of their different ideologies.
The Shadow Isles were once known as the Blessed Isles. They housed great knowledge and secrets, guarded by the people there. Until Viego came, trying to revive his dead wife. Thresh, or what he's known now as, was a warden that showed Viego how to bring his wife back. It went horribly wrong. The isles are now just a place of restless dead that try to steal souls to add to their numbers. The skeleton guy is Thresh and he loves to torment people by taking their loved ones and leaving one behind, which is what happened with Senna and Lucian.
Noxis is a war-like country. It's always trying to expand its territory. Unlike Demacia, Noxis embraces magic and mages, but it's not without a downside. You have to be useful, otherwise you get nothing.
A bit long, and definitely not the most detailed, but I hope that helps a little.

The girl that got beheaded in Mel's flashback wasn't killed for stealing anything. Noxus conquered a kingdom and that girl was somehow related to the old regime. She was killed so she would be able to rally her people to rebel against Noxian rule.
Noxus is all about power, its thematic leans towards old Rome. Noxus is also about conquest, its currently in war with Ionia.
Everyone who is Noxian Citzien has Rights and is respect if he proves his Strength to the state and its Ideals, but everyone else is getting anihillated. Also Noxus is constantly doin War crimes, like using poisen, gas etc. And they do some super cruel Experiments on some of their soldier, childeren, if they think they might get something out of it. Rell is an exampele for these Experiments
If one day you will react to Fiddlesticks' cinematic "Terror In demacia" you should do it together with his in-game dialogues/vocelines because those are disturbing and fascinating. GREAT REACTION GUYS

I doubt they beheaded the girl because she stole food, they beheaded her because she was caught. That might seem to be a difference without a distinction, but it would be an important one in Noxus.
Medarda in Arcane didn't execute the girl for a crime. She executed the girl because she was a princess, and a rightful claimant to an inherited title. This means in the girl's political system, she's a massive threat to the Noxians. Ending her, and her lineage, means all that remains is the newly established Noxian republic. The ruthlessness Noxians display is calculated to destroy their political enemies, which is why they were merciful and even magnanimous to those who surrendered in the Tale of Runeterra - they were no longer a threat.

Demacia has a lot of lore about how they are EXTREMELY anti-magic and hate mages and all this stuff. So honestly, compared to all the other cinematics, the Demacian one was done very poorly and doesn't give much lore at all.
