I had a 67, I drove it for 750 thousand miles, rebuilt four times and sold it for $50 more then I bought it for. At 750,000 the 3rd gear wore out. I now have a 79, I'm getting ready to have painted jet black.

I have a 64 Mercury Econoline. It was made in Canada. It has a v8 351 we put in. It's a delivery style, no windows, but 8 doors.

my dad used to work at a hospital in the maintenance department they had an old 1965 Ford Econoline Van to run to various parts of the campus of the hospital and nursing home.. they also have an older 1963 maybe 62 Econoline pickup for carrying large packages or parts for the hospital mechanicals that he would have to run over the rail road station across town.. accasionally he would bring it home when he had yard work on the weekend since at the time he did not own his pickup

The only 6-cylinder engine available in 1967 for the F-100 and Econoline Van was th get 240 c.i.d. the 300 didn't show up til 74 or later. (Open for correction if I'm wrong).

The 240 and 300 both debuted for the 1965 model year and were available in the F series, but I'm not sure when the vans switched from the Falcon Sixes to the Big Sixes.

I bought a 1962 Econoline deluxe falcon club wagon in '64 and with 4 kids we went everywhere on all day trips in New England......Plenty of room for a nap for the kids and to play board games .........We ate in the van also when it rained......

I wonder if these old van Ford engines are reliable?

ford 300 inline six isnt that much diff externally from the Ford 240 inline six other than maybe the deck height of both inline blocks and of course crankshaft stroke

You can install a 302, or you can cram a 300 in there, but you can't keep it cool in hot weather. There isjust not enough air flow, and the stock radiator is much too small to cool these engines, and there is nowhere to put a bigger one. $600.00 to rebuild the master cylinder? Really? They're still available. You could have had a custom casting made for less. Radial tires on a vehicle with a straight axle WILL wander all over the road. Just not designed for them. For these reasons, and a few others, I gotta call bullshit on this video.

The radiator core can be put up front where the grill is & the top tank put where it originally was. You also must put an electric fan up at the core. I used to have a 65 240. Now I have a Dodge A100 with a 340. I would like the move the engine back towards the bed to keep the cab cooler. It does have A/C too.

@@race-all do u know the value of the delivery vans. I have a Mercury Econoline. Mine has a 351 Windsor in it.

@@mr.e1220 Depends on condition etc. & what part of the country you live in. Back in the day not many liked the Chevy van. Now people are looking for them. Hard to find one in good condition. Some like windows all the way around & some don't. I like um all if they are well presented. The way I see it is the top value ones are the VW's, second Dodge's, third Ford's, fifth Chevy's. Just my opinion. Of course others will see it differently. There is a guy on you tube goes by "Mustie 1" check out his video's. He has restored one of them. It was in really bad shape.

BTW I think a 351 would help in price quite a bit. Is it a stock 351, headers, cam, 2 barrel 4 barrel , auto or stick?
