People would become their fans not because they're sexy or attractive, but because of their incredible voice. After all, they're singers, not models; how they look should never be a factor in their ability to perform.
I see and understand what you are saying and I agree to some degree. The thing is that it's not all about the beauty, gender or sexiness of someone but rather the meaningful connection when you see someone's eyes and facial expression when performing a song. Talking to someone through the phone where you can hear, what it might be to you, their beautiful voice, it's not quite the same as being face to face. The massage we convey with our face, through our eyes and more, has a big impact and that can be lost when that opportunity is taken away. I do understand that the obsession of people with artists is what makes them to be private to which I support. Personally, I have never in my life been a fan (like a declared fan) of any particular artist. I just enjoy a particular song and performance here and there. They are not my role models but just people who created good art I enjoy. That being said, I did wish she shown her face, but I understand and respect the decision. You have to protect your private life to which I advocate for.
No, new generation look at the boobs and plastic faces to judge whether the song is good or not. That's why there are so many non talented artist become famous.
