- Hey party people! Thanks so much for hanging out with me while I share with you this new around the house happenings vlog! I wasn't feeling well but moms dont get sick days so I was pushing through! there was also a ton that happened that morning, our wifi went out, and our contractors came by to share the 'solution' our architect came up with to bust down our load bearing wall. It's just all kinds of bad news lol and ridiculous. we have contacted other contractors / architects to try to find another soltuon that won't cost os an extra $30,000.00 yes thirty thousand dollars. what the actual heck. this should have been figured out before the project began. It's so annoying. ANYWAY that and some good news about the bathroom, that's moving along!! and then I did a lot of food prep today, because when things seem to be all sorts of out of my control I try to control what I can, and for me that's cleaning, and food, and my family! lol so I'm focusing on that! Thanks so much for hanging out with me today!

Also no kiddos in public school here and we have been spreading a sickness through our fam too. I think we are all on the mend now my hubs still has it a little bit. It started with my future daughter in law getting laryngitis, then my son got it and came over, then i got it, now my son a little bit, and my husband got it now too uhhh! CRAZY TIMES! Hope you all feel better soon !

Girl, you need a "day away" ! Have you heard of this? Just take a day for yourself. No filming, no cooking, no ANYTHING! Take a drive to a beautiful place that you love....pack a lunch. Just chill. You will be amazed at how much it will help.❤❤❤

However. I was originally referring to her haircut. It only takes an hr. I'm a retired stylist and believe me the cutting cape would perfect little Wolfgsng IF she needed to nurse. Or she could prefill her milk and get an sitter for an hour. She wouldn't be stressing out and chopping her hair up. All of this is meant with respect.
It goes to show, just as moms, we are hardest on ourselves. You always seem to think you’re failing or coming up short. But to me, you are the woman across the room. I wish I had it as together as you. I feel like I’m constantly not doing enough ❤ you are authentically and unapologetically yourself and one of my favorite UA-camrs to watch. Which is why I’ve struck around for nearly 4 years now and rarely ever do I miss a video?!?! ❤ it’s so refreshing even though you are in your new house you haven’t changed one single bit. A lot of the time UA-camrs go BEIGE AND WHITE AMD SPOTLESS. And that’s when they just become unrelatable lol where are the messes and the crumbs and chaos?! ❤😂 keep being you!!!

Minimalism just forces you to have your life together... So it looks like we do. But it's because we don't have any other option, lol. If we don't wash the pans, or the lunchboxes, we don't have them. That's part of why I like it. I have 4 kids with number 5 on the way and life is so much more manageable with less stuff.
I want to thank you for adding your "apparently" clips!! I now think about that every single time I say apparently, and I just laugh! It doesn't matter what kind of day I am having, that always makes me laugh and smile.

I looove watching Wolfgang. He's a year almost to the day younger than my youngest so it's soooo sweet seeing him crawl around and standing up on his own. Amazing how quickly the time flies.

My kiddos started school this week and I borrowed your idea and made them a charcuterie board full of snacks for their first day. Also gonna start brownie Friday! I work full time and go to school full time, sometimes I’m so caught up in the busy-ness and forget that the small moments count. Thanks for all your simple, fun, memory making ideas!
I honestly don’t know how you’ve been so patient with your entire project. I would have lost my mind by this point. You can always contact the Better Business Bureau also and file a complaint with them also.

I love your devious ambush plan, Kim, because,honestly, I relate. Never have I ever found a good and trustworthy contractor or any kind of workman. Every time we hire someone to work on our house it has been a drama-filled expensive disaster. I just want to learn to do everything myself so I don’t have to deal with that anymore. Sooo, I’ll pray for you.
I know things can be so crazy sometimes. Thank you for sharing the good AND the not so good! Some people only show the best parts creating the illusion that their lives are perfect. Seriously, the architect should know how to read the blueprints. They have insurance for this and they should pay for their mistake. Kim and Alex shouldn't. After all the delays....this was such a dumb mistake on the architect's part.

Growing up my parents hired a guy to convert part of our garage into more of a hangout room, laundry room, extra storage area. Well he would come in the mornings and have cereal with my siblings and me while watching cartoons with us. So it took a long time but it got done eventually lol. He was something 😂😂.
Cleaning out one of our attic spaces, my husband found our DVD player and VHS player in one and....his old Beta video machine. My son was asking what is that? Best of luck with hurricane Idelia, hopefully you guys just get good rain and no damage.

Business insurance underwriter here!! Just wanted to say Florida laws are very favorable to the consumer when it comes to lawsuits involving construction contracts and errors & omissions so contacting your lawyer is a good starting point. Sounds like this may be a viable route for you! So sorry you’ve had to go through this!

We aren't allowed to be ill but if we power through whatever germs have been stupid enough to invade, they won't last long. I'm like you with hair, I like mine long but it's always up. Kim, contact the Better Business Bureau in your area and file a complaint against your architect. Also when doing big projects contact them to see if any issues were noted against a company you are considering. I think you were taken advantage of. The timeline on this project is outrageous. You are handling it with grace in front of the camera.

I feel like when summer hits, everything falls apart but i try to focus on enjoying the time with the kids, but my house suffers. As soon as the kids were off to school yesterday, i was like a different person, i dont have my life together by any means, but definitely more focused for sure.

There are those who grew up in a museum and continue that tradition. Everything has a place and they always know where everything is. Then there is me. We live in our home. There are toys, cups, forks and stuff every where at times. Laundry piles dirty and clean not folded. The kids bedrooms aren't tidy but we are happy. We enjoy each other and know that someday the kids will grow up and the messes and fingerprints will be missed. Just do your best. That is all our kids need to make them happy. Isn't that the goal. Talking about your nails, Becky at Acre Homestead pulls weeds, gardens, cans and preserves food, cooks, has a newborn and her nails and cuticles are always perfect. I would have to photoshop my nails to look like hers. You Kim are an absolute gem and someone who is so real for the rest of us nonperfect nail people.

HELLO Kim and family! Here my husband and I are trying to make a decision if we want to do some remodeling; however, WE JUST DO NOT LIKE DEBT. When we have anything done we use cash. However, what we want to do means Home equity and THAT makes me literally ill...LOL. Yes, Kim and Alex, SOMETIMES YOU HAVE TO COME BOLD TO THE THRONE OF FATHER GOD. Seems they are taking your kindness for weakness and that is always a mistake ON their part. Hope you feel better soon. You are a wonderful mom and your right moms don't get to lay in the bed! As a mom myself I'm encouraging you and then remembering to encourage myself. I think we can be hard on ourself but we need to give ourselves grace.

You're doing good, Kim! 'Stuff' never quits happening. Even with no kids around anymore. In the last two months our AC quit working, same with the stove, ice machine on fridge, garage door opener and there's a check engine light on in the car. That's life I guess...... just take it as it comes! I guess I've learned to lower my expectations..... a lot!
Wolfgang is such a happy baby.. He wanted to get in on the dancing too..That was hilarious..Those are the moments you'll remember always..♥️

Oh Kim... I was trying to help you with Elevation (I can't tell you how many times a day I can't find my words... cause words are hard). I feel you on every level. I started working out last week for the first time in... we won't talk about it... and I have been in a constant state of muscle soreness... so I feel you... I hear you... I'd help you if I could my friend. This too shall pass!! ❤❤
How frustrating with the wall issue! I’m glad you got a second opinion, and have consulted with a lawyer. Yikes! I think we expect to have an issue or two arise when having construction done, but you’ve had more than your fair share! Hang in there, Kim. We are supporting you!
Kim, just a big “Thank You” shout out for mentioning your love for Granola “oat” butter in a past video. Of course the price wasn’t so exciting. I looked it up and wrote down the ingredients and then looked up a recipe. Today I took out my vitamix and whipped it up. So delicious and of course, so inexpensive to make. You must make it! You can look up your own recipe ( there’s quite a few out there) or here’s what I used: 2 cups old fashion oats, 2 tsps olive oil, 3 Tbs maple syrup, 3 Tbs coconut oil, 1/2 tsp cinnamon, 1/2 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp allspice, pinch cardamom, pinch nutmeg. Second batch, I added 1/2 C pecans. I’ve also seen you can use vanilla powder to make it Vanilla Oat Butter, or ground freeze dried strawberries for Strawberry oat butter.

Kim, sending hugs. I love you. I'm in the thick of it. 3 week old baby, 2 kids back in school, both of them have coughs and snotty noses and I'm starting to feel like it found me too! I appreciate how real you are, but also how you handle the stress with a bit of laughter and more calmness than I have. Thank you for being you and keep up the good work! One of these days I'm going to wash my cupboards because I never knew they needed it! Lol and you've taught me to keep up on laundry....it's endless 😂❤😊
