this video changed my life 8 years ago. Now I live in LA and im a professional actor. Ill be in the new criminal minds reboot next month. I ended up reaching out to Jason who helped me move to LA, where I got an agent, met my husband and am now on a bunch of tv shows. Thank you.

Watched this a few times now, and it's still great how it gives me the urge to do more, network more, and be more proactive in my career. Thank you Jason for the great tips!

any time you have an opportunity to act, it is a great gift. sometimes we have the same idea in our heads but need another person to say them aloud. Thank you Jason! because that is how you move from "trying to get the part" to "enjoying each moment you get the opportunity to live the moment being someone else"

I think this episode was packed with great advice from Jason on how to market oneself and stay focused everyday. There really are so many ways to put yourself out there as an actor. I liked that he also spoke about having a sense of self that can't be changed..being the best you.

Another really cool episode. I love all the marketing advice and especially about creating your reel as I'm just in the middle of doing that - some inspiring words! And how Jason says everyone should at least get the chance to try and fail - I love that.

I really loved this interview and the thing that stuck with me was being the best you. In life people try to do that everyday and when we can do that we succeed in life and our acting work. I also want to schedule a consultation with Jason soon! Thank you for sharing your expertise Jason.

Great advice, I was pretty much set on a move to LA next year but after doing more research into Canada, I'm thinking that could possibly be more beneficial at the moment. It will take some deep thought but I fully agree with doing a lot of work to get work. Very insightful episode, thank you both :)

Interesting insights into the industry in L.A, there are so many differences over there compared to how we do things in Aus. Some of the discussion reminded me of the book "An Agent Tells All" by Tony Martinez which I found very helpful in gaining information on the industry in L.A and New York.

Mmmm..this was the hardest episode for me to watch because it had the toughest truths. I have always been hung up on my weight and I know that I need to trim up to present well on film. HOWEVER I avoided the industry for a number of years telling myself that I was just "getting myself together" in order to be an actor. That didn't work. I have now returned to the industry and am battling all the issues I graduated with. But I reckon the only way I can make my way through them is to challenge them face to face and continue forward. Sometime it takes bravery to realise you're not the best version of you, but you gotta start somewhere! And I AM doing work which feels fantastic. :)

On the topic of relocating to Canada, I think it's important to note that a lot of casting directors won't see unknown (nb: not considered famous) Australian actors UNLESS they have permanent residency status in Canada (not just a working visa). This is due to the fact that Australians without PR status are unable to join the union and roles are prioritised for permanent residents and citizens of Canada.

I watched your video because the link was included in the same email as that of my favorite teacher on the planet, Howard Fine. And I must say I'm a bit dumbfounded.
Three questions for Jason that I hope he'll answer.
    1) Talent scout? What exactly is that? With all due respect, having been a casting director for 30 years, I've never heard of Jason, nor have I heard of a "talent scout" in any legitimate context (the term is often associated with talent scams and "modeling schools" trying to sell expensive photos portfolios and classes). How does the scouting thing work?
    2) Exactly which agents and managers does Jason scout for? A simple list would be fine.
    3) Has Jason posted a bond with the state of California for his talent counseling business - as require by law?
My personal observation and advice is this: People can operate any kind of legal service they choose in America. But those who patronize those services have an obligation to do some research before they invest their dough.

I dont even know how to put my picture up on U-Tube! I got some shots and some experience already, under my belt. Either the Industry, here or abroad, can use you for their wants and needs; or they cant.....
