Thanks heaps! Yes they are overkill for current power for setup. But I have the omega 11’s and a block build about to start so it’ll only be a couple months before it is utilising them. We were doing the motec plus wiring other stuff anyway so I thought why not have them wired up at the same time.
I was thinking about getting the motec c1212 for my gtr but I don’t understand why it’s so much money for a dashboard why did you buy it what’s the benefits?
It’s cheaper in Australia as a starting point because Motec is Australian and manufactured here. Other than being able to log the dash parameters, it also has a 3 axis G sensor which reads at 500hz (500 times a second) which you can use in connection with the motec ecu for finer tuning of the traction control for optimal grip in drag or circuit racing applications etc. I can’t go in to full detail on this as I have a basic understanding of it but my tuner knows it inside out. Also there are things this dash can do that the stock one can’t such as display fuel pressure, fuel temp, coolant pressure etc. these are invaluable displays as low fuel pressure can lead to leaning out - obviously you can’t see this on the standard dash. Fuel temp (GTR’s are known to run hot fuel in warm conditions - fuel tank is right on/next to the gearbox lol) which doesn’t help if you’re running multiple brushed fuel pumps. Different story if you’re running brushless pumps. But still a worthy sensor and data to log and display. Also coolant pressure reading - know if you have a coolant issue/leak and or if there’s spikes in the data/logs as the engine hits peak boost yours head is potentially lifting. it will also trigger written warnings on exactly what issue arises. Example: if there’s knock it will actually say “knock warning” on the dash. The purpose of going this route for me is to ensure maximum safety of the new built motor (currently being built on the side) for longevity.
This was the best description even tho you say your understanding is basic!!! Rebuilding a GTR here in America and my tuner did ask me to go Motec. I love the dash just to make it feel more modern lol. But the parameters that can be seen are amazing. Just to shell out the cash for it was like ughhh but by January I’ll pick it up hahaha.
@@GetwitGhost thanks heaps, glad I was able to share a little bit and it made sense haha! you’re gonna love it - now if someone could get Apple CarPlay and maps working on it then we’ll be in business! 🤣
I don’t understand the need for the keypad, the steering wheel buttons do all the same functions. Also the factory traction control is no longer useable once the motec is installed, their TC automatically over rides the Nissan TC.
Really simple answer for this one. On my car, my preference was a keypad. Just my preference. And yes I know the motec TC replaces the factory traction control. I specifically mention this at the 6 minute mark… it’s a base TC strategy that still needs to be refined and tweaked, out of the box it’s decent but not fantastic and still needs refinement to get the most out of it.
@@gapzlaGTR You never had a "dog box" in a GTR, they all run synros, no aftermarket gearset removes the syncros and goes to a dog engagement gearset. All dodson/albins gearsers reuse the stock nissan syncros.
Nice!❤
Thanks!
Very nice! Do you think the secondary injectors are too much for the current setup? I assumed it prep for more power down the road.

@@gapzlaGTR wow I wish more people was like you thanks a lot I subscribed I hope my build can be like yours one day 👍🏻

wtf why does the startup sound like shit?
Cold start e85 and rattle from dog box and clutches. Normal.
