Certainly a few callbacks to other stories in this movie that are fun to identify if you know where to look.
Also learned that we lost Eiko Masuyama recently. Farewell Fujiko.

They don't, really. This was just a story being told to someone. That said, there were a few truths mixed in, given Lupin shows off the Clam of Hermes at the end and the fight with Goemon was recreated from episode 5 of Part 1.
