    2 big things with these brakes too. 1.) Is you've significantly opened up your rear sway bar options now, as the brembo clear everything. 2.) Though a v6 setup may stop just as quickly as the SS brembo initially, I've found the SS can handle more heat/abuse. If you keep slamming the SS keep going whereas the v6 really feel the heat.

      Exactly, I was trying to explain this as well on the other comment in the feed.

    I have large wheels on my Camaro and I have been considering these brakes and I appreciate your review and comments of it not being an overkill for a V6! We’re building a house too slated to be completed late September! Congratulations on yours!👊🏾💯

    Where did you get the rotors from?

  • @FOKESIMTHATDUDE
    @FOKESIMTHATDUDE 3 роки тому +1

    Did you have to change the master cylinder and get bigger rotors?

    • @mistermanage1119
      @mistermanage1119  3 роки тому +2

      You do not have to change the master cylinder but it would be better if you did as it is bigger and pushes more fluid. You HAVE to use SS rotors. The brembos do not work with V6 rotors.

    Nice video and I agree you can never have too much stopping power! Any thoughts on doing a rear diff gear upgrade in the future? I'm throwing some 3.91 gears in mine soon and from everything I've heard they make a huge difference in waking the car up.

    • @mistermanage1119

      I had a hour long conversation with a tuner about them. I was strongly considering it but not anymore. In 6th gear on the freeway you will be screaming and 1st gear, you will rip through. Sounds fun for a little but long term it seems like it will get annoying to me. I would like to keep some of daily drivability in my car. Now the 3.70 gears seem like they are middle of the road and the best of both worlds. I may look into that soon.

      @@mistermanage1119 This is an overview of my experience of doing the 3.91 gear upgrade. I have a 2012 2LT manual with about 60k miles, so I went the route of a complete differential rebuild rather than chance taking it apart and some of the bearings needing to be replaced. I ordered just the ring and pinion gear (not the kit), the differential gasket, and a Richmond differential rebuild kit which included all of the bearings, shims, bolts etc needed. I found it to be cheaper this way rather than buying the gear kit and the bearings, shims, marking compound, etc by themselves. Dealer charged me about $800 for labor to do the full install.
      After the install I didn't experience any noise from the new gears and the car pulls way way harder. In my opinion this is how it should have came stock because before the lack of torque was definetly noticeable in combination with the cars weight. I can cruise around town in a full gear higher than before and now 6th gear is actually suitable for passing on the highway. With my driving habits (80% city 20% highway) I actually seem to have gained a bit of MPG (21.8 -> 24), however with more highway driving I'd definetly have a slight decrease. With my flowmaster exhaust having the RPM's a bit higher on the highway actually cut down on the drone a good bit in 6th gear (2300rpm at 70mph). First gear is definitely shorter, but nothing unmanageable you just have to be ready to shift quickly if doing a pull from a dig. Just cruising around though you don't even really notice first being that short. However, my previous car was a 2012 Genesis coupe that had a 3.91 rear gear and 4.229 first with much smaller tires, so maybe I'm just use to driving with a short first gear. Overall I'd definitely recommend it along with the overkill tune, since the ~20% torque increase from the 3.27 gears plus the snappy throttle response from the tune completely change the cars character and it is way more fun to drive.

      They sure do! I had the nittos with the V6 breaks and they were a upgrade but much much better with the brembos.
