I introduced my mom to this channel a few weeks ago and she's loving it. She says it's a whole different kind of videos where you can feel like your driving any car. Just wanted to thank you for the amazing content you put out. 😍
I just took this for a test drive today, I loved it! It was metallic denim blue, and was a really nice colour, the drive was very nice, fairly sharp, ample acceleration, nice sound, beautiful elegant interior, very good looking exterior, nice electronic safety systems. I didn't have much time to poke around the infotainment, but it was responsive, and the screen was high contrast, clear image, seemed easy and intuitive, and I enjoyed the digital cluster with voice commands. I doubt I would like any other sedan as much as this (at least not without going far above its price range). I would love to daily drive this thing with an inscription trim. Enjoyed this little night POV, thanks.
I wish they kept on with the turbo 5-cylinder engines. They sound incredible, especially compared to the 2.0L turbos, though the touch of supercharger whine is cool.
I've been in the Volvo semi trucks we have here in Europe. You wouldn't believe how comfortable those seats are, even more comfortable than in Volvo passenger cars. The most comfortable seats I've sat in.
Great review! My lease was coming up on my 2016 S60 T5. If I waited a little longer, I might have been able to snag a better deal/higher trim level on the new S60, but I needed vehicle ASAP. Ended up settling on a 2019 S60 T5 Momentum in fusion red, equipped with premium package, 19 inch wheels, and the exterior styling package with the front spoiler/side skirts/quad exhaust. Absolutely love it! Despite its increased size, it’s definitely a little peppier than my last S60! R Design was what I really wanted, especially since my last Volvo had paddle shifters (sport package), but it is what it is :). I tested out the German competition and my mom’s Lexus IS, and equipped at the same price (this is important), the Volvo just felt better. I also like how these are still so new that there are few of them on the road.
Don't buy an Ev. The batteries are horrible for the environment. If anything get a hybrid where you can make 90% of the trips on electricity without the need of a Huge battery. Or if you want speed just get a standard ice car.
@@OutOfNameIdeas2 Nope, purchased a Tesla 3 LR 5 months ago and love it. Just charged up to 284mi at 80%. After all the drama on which car to pick, the E Class was leading in my list, I just couldn't invest in ICE tech again. I was even willing to put up with a poor paint job and panel alignment but Tesla fooled me and delivered a perfect car to my residence. I was kinda stunned! For me, it was the correct choice.
Hey MrTopher.. I know you don't do many Ford vehicles but how about a refreshed 2019 Ford Fusion Titanium & Sport? 👀 POV Day & Night Drive? Pleaseeeeeeeee
@@OutOfNameIdeas2 Perhaps V90 offer different packages. With 100% I say neither S90 nor S60 offer ambient lighting as BWM or AUDI have around the door panels and dashboard. No such package in Volvo S line regardless of the trim.
This car is awesome. I’d love to have one but it’s too expensive for a recent college graduate. I’d also be worried about how it holds up long term vs the old Volvos.
"Its not a ton of power ? " Wow, how much power do you need ???? 316 hp in a pretty small sedan, seems like it would be a rocket, and with awd it should be putting the power down well. Is it just the small 2 liter engine that gives you pause ?
An Audi A4 is faster to 60 by a not-insignificant 0.3 seconds, 5.6 vs. 5.9 (S60 T6) with a 60 HP deficit. I don't know if it's weight (both are similar) or that the Audi is underrated, but it's not as fast as it ought to be for 316 HP. The good news is that you can option the Polestar Performance, which will bump it to 325 HP/330 TQ, but I've been unable to find out how much that really changes the equation.
the person The T6, which is what we're talking about, is not 400 HP. If we're going to talk about T8s, I'm going to talk about S4s instead of A4s and you really don't want that comparison to happen if you favor the Volvo.
Seems to have some sort of sports exhaust or artificial sound! Sounds more burly compared to the other t6's you've reviewed, same with the sounds when changing gears!
The gear changes are genuine :) They really "DSG fart" But it's really weird that some T6/T8 get a better sound than other T6/T8. All I know is that IIRC, a valve opens in Power mode.
They have paddle shifters ! You can't see it because of the dark but they definetly have them, look on another review of the S60 on the same channel and you will see them. :)
@@lookcloser4536 Not anymore! Removed for MY2021 unless you get the Polestar Engineered trim. That said, they never worked particularly well; I guess Volvo would rather cut costs than fix their transmission software so that it shifts when ask it to.
@@vomErsten In a year I’ve lost hope for Volvo, don’t worry about that. The only product I would consider would be the V60 T8 Polestar. The rest simply sucks, and the brand does too.
We have an 03 Volvo and love it, maybe in a couple more years I can pick up a used XC90 or S90! Also that transport shouldn't be in a live lane going 30 mph... even with his hazards on it looks like an accident waiting to happen, I hope he pulled over eventually...
Watched all your miata vids. I want a 2017 RF if i can find a low mileage used. BUT, mom/dad might have to drive it sometimes and they don't want manual (they can drive manual but dad has knee problem and we live in a high traffic area, weekends are fine though). Should I get automatic? It's looking like...either I get automatic miata or find a different car. I really want miata though, will it be worth it to get auto? Please give me some info.
I'm not feeling that new twin charged 4 cylinder from Volvo. All the complication of that dual system isnt worth it imo. The power just isn't there. Not when you can buy an Audi S4, with a single turbo 6 cylinder that will stomp this volvo into the ground. I like volvos. I would buy one to haul the family. But if I want an exciting sport sedan it's going to be an Audi or BMW.
Some people just don't need the most powerful car they can get. The power in this is enough, while still providing great fuel economy, safety, and luxury feel. I don't think you can balance it any better than this.
Because the politicians spend the money on bullshit like new stadiums and because the construction companies that would do the work on the roads anyway are crooked as heck and drag even the simplest paving job out 3x to 6x longer than necessary so they can "run out of budget" and ask for more. Zero accountability in civilian government procurement.
I'd settle for them tossing that crappy automatic unit they have and getting a good one from ZF and having it properly programmed. From everything I've read, sluggish shifts has been the largest gripe about the T6 powertrain.
where's the engine temp gauge? DISLIKE the flashing 'speeding!' nanny... in the land of Sweden, where is gets to 0* and below, the giant, controls everything, center touch pad doesn't seem like the best way to go. LCDs and other screen types hate cold wx. how slow is it when the car is 30*F on the inside? 10*F? -10*F? I'm sure it works well in the summer, but a car "born" in Sweden, should perform well (all aspects) in the frigid winter. I like that they are now made in SC, but cold wx performance of features need to be considered for those markets that actually experience a winter and where people park their cars outside.
Do not worry, there is a device on Volvos that you can program on your smartphone that warms up the car's system before you enter in your Volvo :) They engineered the car so that it performs in Winter. They often test their cars in the high North of Sweden, in the Arctic Circle
Imagine doing a 4/6 hour long journey at night with all that stupid screens all over the dash. I wonder how distracting and irritating they are. Can any readers here give some input?
Now you have a super fast car and don’t drive it to the end (stability / inside noise / gas mileage). Instead you are taping at night. This is not a great review.
I like how Volvo has more emphasis on the comfort side than trying to be very sporty. Just the right amount of sportiness. Very good.
