Recovering An Abandoned Jeep

  • Got a call from a person about their jeep that they had left out near Lock Hart Road a few months ago. They had been contacted by the BLM to get it removed. So we went in to get it. It had been in the wash during a flood so the engine compartment was full of twigs and leaves and packed around the exhaust system. So we decided against starting it after we got it moving so we didn't start it on fire. We pulled it out and loaded it on the trailer and hauled it back to the shop. Once there we used the garden hose to clean everything out of the engine area and it fired right up. Thank you everyone for watching and supporting us.

Up in alaska, out of town, if you leave your vehicle anywhere it will get shot full of holes, rammed by other vehicles, tipped over and set on fire in the course of about 10 days. I have seen our more than once. I was told by locals that if you stop along the road, sit on the hood, not inside, so you don't get shot.

its amazing, but its also hard to access. it keeps the riff raff away by the nature of its location. there are plenty of spots in utah where if a jeep was just parked abandoned it would be damaged withing a week or two. if your not from the southwest its hard to understand how vast these states are. they dont look much bigger then the eastern states on the map but they are far larger and the population is far less dense. there are places in new Mexico for example that are as remote as places in Alaska. in the gila you can be nearly 150 miles from a town. new mexico is not known for being a nice place but if you left a jeep out in the gila for a couple months you could come back and find it like this too.

@@aylahughes9185 same with CA. The Mojave is absolutely massive, larger than many east coast states, there’s so many desolate places out there it’s not unheard of for people to just disappear, and vehicles too. Even Death Valley is huge and that’s just 1 part of the greater Mojave desert.

After watching trail mater pall that truck up that near vertical rock face. I don't think there's much that man can't do he has a brilliant team around him. 🇺🇸👍.

Old Uranium mines have high concentrations of Uranium decay products, primarily Radon gas. Also, your Scrambler rear-left front leaf spring hanger bushings are shot!

Rory check the rear left spring front attachment on the Jeep you used to pull the yellow one. Loose bolt and nut.

Rory, at least you fuel up before heading out! That other outfit down there stops for breakfast but never fuels the equipment! Kinda of important chore to do!!

I couldn't imagine leaving my jeep in a place for days and definitely not months. That jeep is Matt's color you should give him a call, he can add it to his fleet. Great video you always get the job done.

Robby Watts----The owner contacted Rory to go and get the vehicle out , after he himself got pressured by the BLM . As soon as he pays the recovery fee , the owner gets it back. I don`t
know , but expect that the owner would have a bill of $2500-$3000 for this job .

@@williameddy3740 My point was the owner waited months to do that. I would have been in there the next day with shovels, come-a-long and friends getting it out, if I couldn't afford Rory. If you can afford a Jk to play in the rocks with, you should have enough cash to get a tow or fix what you break.

@@NCMTNBOY There is more to this story than we are being told . I don`t know what it is , but , something is " off" . The vehicle seemed too fancy for the owner to be be broke . If
you had the money , why not handle the problem immediately ? If you didn`t have the money , why not gather your friends to help , as you have suggested ? It is
possible that the owners thought that the flash flood had completely ruined the vehicle .

Mike -"...I've been in worse...!". (LMAO). As to vehicle choice ("It'll be fine..."), if not, good day for wheeling with some friends... Still, keep seeing new & amazing scenery ! Thanx !
