Tom has a unique way of structuring his songs. They are a fusion of rap beats, rock structure, and other genres mixed in some songs. He's just different. He said he didn't want to conform to one genre in a song he made early in his career. This was before many people knew of him. #hogfam

The thing that I noticed about a lot of Tom's choruses, is that they grow on you over time. Also, they are a lot less overproduced like they once were. So even if his courses aren't hitting, you got to admit they're at least better than they were before

@@SKYLORD98 but it's still the same chorus. Nova writes his chorus's to make them commercial sounding. It's always been that way, except Dear Rappers, which was not rock influenced
Nova doesn't write his choruses. Tom writes and create the beats, Nova films and she is very good at that. She does write her music though

I loved the chorus. One of Tom's strengths as a music-artist is that he doesn't limit himself to sticking inside of one genre of music within his songs. If you only like rap you won't like his choruses. If you only like rock you won't like his verses. If you like both rap and rock, you enjoy how he slides back and forth between the music-genres as he transitions from verses to chorus and back to verses again. Nova likes to do this too in some of her songs, with "Hey You" being a good example. As someone who enjoys a wide range of music-genres, I immensely enjoy artists who demonstrate this type of versatility in their music-art. One of the advantages for an artist with this type of musical ability is that they can speak to a much wider range of audience-demographics while delivering a single message. The use of this music-form fits in with the message of his song in promoting unification while opposing division. In a figurative sense, he's leading by example by bringing two genres of music-art together into one music-form. In doing so, he's not only delivering his message in his lyrics, he's also doing it through the structure of his music. Tom is one of those music-artists who's so talented that he can sing a phone book to you in any music-genre that you'd like him to. It's a major reason why his rapidly growing fan-base is multi-racial, multi-cultural, and multi-generational.
Here's an amusing perspective to consider. When Tom does this music-form of sliding in and out of music-genres within a song, woke idiots are probably pulling their hair out because he's unapologetically using the "cultural appropriation" that they rant against as part of them being divisive instead of being inclusive. If any of them want to whine to him about it, I'm certain he'd have no problem with suggesting that they re-listen to the message that he and Ben delivered in "Facts". Tom is very skilled at using sarcasm and satire in his message-delivery, and he's even found a way to do it with the musical structure of this blended-genre song. 😁
Tom's choruses are catchy with a message according to his mood. Concert anthems. He said that in one of his "rap, rap" songs, Don't Look Down.

Agree about his choruses, but Tom said he wants to go in a more pop-oriented direction and I think song is sort of an example of that. Either way, he is still shoving facts down our throats most deliciously. 🤘

Tom's style is very similar to like Hollywood Undead or one of those groups, they always rapped the verses and then the choruses were mixes of screaming or singing and much more of a rock vibe. So if you prefer rap to rock the chorus won't hit you that hard, as someone who used to listen to HU daily I love his style and the chorus hits just as hard as the verses for me. Either way, Tom is the truth, not everyone is ready to hear it, but it's all facts.

When I watched his music video for “Snowflake,” I swear I thought I was watching a Saturday Night Live parody. Went down a rabbit hole and listened to other songs of his; the guy peddles pandering garbage. Terrible flow, corny lyrics, little to no bars, etc. Half the time it doesn’t even sound like he’s rapping, just talking.
I actually agree with some of his thoughts, but the complete lack of subtlety and preachiness just comes off as lazy.
But hey, if other people enjoy it then I’m happy for them.

No one ever seems to be able to explain why they don't like Tom's hooks. I just can't understand it.
I can't really explain why I usually don't like them. I am usually outside of the norm music-wise, though. The public sure seems to like them fine, so he obviously knows what he's doing.
@@whome1299dynamically and in terms of feeling or genre, the hooks can sometimes feel or sound too different than the verses and can cut off a sense of flow, and I think maybe that’s what’s happening. On their own or in a different song I think more people would be receptive to the hooks - it’s when it’s in contrast to a style that doesn’t usually go with it that I think maybe it can feel disjointed. That’s my take at least! Like, I do like this hook but I think it would sound better in a more rock or punk rock song, and the verses sound more straight hip-hop - it’s unconventional what he does so that could be part of the reason too
