If it were the normal version on this list I would agree with you but the deluxe version specifically is awful in my opinion. It’s bloated as hell and none of the deluxe tracks even come close to anything on the original track list.
They put WAY too much hip hop/rap on the list so there was barely any room for other genres. It was ridiculous. Not saying there shouldn't have been any hip hop, but they really needed to narrow it down to say, the 10 best, and try to incorporate more genres and styles and delve into more decades than the 90s (it was very 90s skewed and not nearly enough 80s and 70s). I wouldn't personally listen to most of the music they chose. I made my own list and there were only about 10-15 albums that were also on the Apple list.
@@jackschultee8065 Since I listen to 70s glam and hard rock, classic metal, 80s synth and new wave, 90s alternative, industrial and electronic, and a bit of modern pop, mostly UK artists, it isn't that farfetched that my personal taste doesn't overlap with this list much, especially when 25% of it is hip hop and while I do listen to some rap, it's a very small percentage compared to the other genres I enjoy. I just don't think this list was fairly balanced between classic albums/genres and current popular artists, it skewed way too much towards 90s and later. But music is subjective and everyone's personal list would look different, I just find this Apple one a little odd and biased.
@@futureidol83 I will say, rap had made up a very large part of music for the past 30 years or so, and in that time so many great albums have come out of the genre. It's not that they leaned into rap for the list moreso as they realized how many great and transformative rap albums there are
Ultra respect for putting DSOTM for #1. It’s crazy how much its praise has diminished its view. It’s come to the point where picking it may even be controversial. I don’t have a specific album picked out for #1 personally, but I definitely agree that DSOTM is probably the most competent decision.

I think there's an interesting conversation on artists that I love, but have never made a "great album": Instead their best material is spread across multiple releases, as if encouraging you to keep listening! If Apple or any other authority favors a "great album" from a mediocre artist for their own ranked list... Then said artist probably deserves a position over legendary artists that simply never condensed so much quality into a single package. They could address this in a better way. Something like: "Some discographies are worth exploring fully. Formative even. The impact of one-album-wonders doesn't compare to careers that evolve and reinvent themselves. But for the sake of a fun list, let's celebrate records that are brilliant as standalone experiences. No need to commit, just go ahead and give them a spin, you could find a brand new favorite".

Because my relationship with music changes constantly, and it's always possible I'd re-rank those ones higher. I didn't want viewers to think I simply didn't like those albums :)
Of the albums Apple put in their list, i would have Abbey Road by The Beatles as the best one. Also Revolver, Pet Sounds, The Joshua Tree & both Stevie Wonder's albums higher then they were placed. Too much hip hop/rap albums for me personally. Were they trying to be politically correct. I was also surprised there was no Queen albums in there.
Rap music should be ranked separately. Jazz albums too. If it were up to me, jazz albums would be #10 to #1, but in the interest of objectivity, I think they should be on a separate list.
"Were they trying to be politically correct" ...what?? 'PC' to who?! swear to gawd you w _ke k _rens on the right are more ridiculous than the ones on the left.🤦🏽♂😂
Nina Simone has made incredible albums, but I do not think "I Put a Spell on You" should be here. Instead, there should be Wild is the Wind and Sings the Blues. But yes, she has albums that should at least be in the Top 50. It is very important and elegant.🍷 And Aretha so low... 😢 It should be at least in the Top 10...
All this list is showing me is that you are the average pretentious music listener that fails the grasp the impact and worth of mainstream pop music simply because you are too insecure to put interest into anything that doesn’t label you as “different”. The fame monster is one of the best albums of the past few decades, and it’s sad that its popularity deters people like you from recognizing that. Several albums like Anti, 1989, Adele’s, they’re all incredibly good pop music. But sure, if you want to dance around these great works of music and pretend like your above fun and creativity, you’re the only one suffering.
@@Sound_Plus_Vision Yeah... I can tell 😬 But that kind of snarky "sErIoUslY" was uncalled for. Well we all got our own tastes. At least I know to avoid this channel in the future
The Fame Monster being worse than 1989 (Taylor’s Version) is indeed an opinion
Never been much of a Gaga fan personally!

Usher’s Confessions is an R&B album. not a pop album. so you’re wrong there. if you listen to R&B, it’s one of the most impactful albums of the genre.

Blues and Metal are
so underrepresented in the Apple list
Agreed! A lot of genres got the cold shoulder on this list, I found
Jazz, electronic and ambient as well

This is an excellent point you just raised! Who do you consider as examples of great artists who’ve never made a “great album”?
How did they not include 2 albums for kendrick and kanye
This video is one of the different ones, I haven seen someone who has rearranged the list.
I disagree with these not being top 10 albums:
#47 What's Going On
#39 Abbey Road
#29 Songs In the Keys of Life
#28 Kind of Blues
And I can't believe they snubbed:
Maggot Brain
Madvilliany
The White Album
Donuts
Endtroducing
In the Court of the Crimson King
Wish You Were Here
The Infamous
Led Zeppelin IV
Bitches Brew
To Pimp A Butterfly
In Utero
In Rainbows
Off The Wall
There's A Riot Going On
Paranoid
The College Dropout
Crlt
Channel Orange
Diamond Life
IGOR
A lot of those snubs are ones I mention in the video, too!
Like three or four disagreements but this is such a good list
Haven’t finished the video yet but The Downward Spiral at 69 is insane
Never been much of a NIN fan tbh
This is suppose to be the greatest LP’s of all time not Hip Hop LP’s of all time.
im a massive hip hop fan and i agree that the list had way to much hip hop cuz like why is drake on the list
I can't even bring myself to cringe over what they listed sorry
I feel like the bodyguard soundtrack should have been on the list considering it was a great album and still one of the top 3 best selling albums ever
Best selling albums ≠ best albums
wow your top 10 was genuinely nearly flawless
This is one of the worst rankings I’ve ever seen, but respect
L takes on Lauryn Hill, having her as #1 is respectable asf. TPAB > GKMC, and Pink Floyd has 3 albums better than DOSOTM
@@cvcvcv123 I respect your very wrong opinion!

Harvest is better.
Most of these LP’s are terrible.
Which albums would you have placed on here instead?
