I have to say.. Your video tutorials have helped me up my game in my area. I am (as far as I know) the only shop in my area that offers this service! May be a bit time-consuming, and a challenge, but to be able to replace glass and a digitizer instead of the whole assembly saves my customers money, has close to quadrupled my word of mouth referrals for watch repair! Really appreciate your videos! If you ever find yourself in Calgary I owe ya a few beers haha.
Awesome video. Quick question i got my replacement digitiser with glass and it came with OCA applied. I want to use LOCA do i need to remove the existing OCA first or can i just use the LOCA as well as?
Yes, you will want to remove it if your going with the LOCA method. Once you get ahold of a little bit it should all be able to be pulled off slowly in one piece if your careful
So, while doing it, we damaged polarizer (I think it’s called that). Is there a way to purchase it separately somehow? I have been trying to see if I could purchase it but it is really hard to find anyone who carry that.
I just repaired the glass + digitizer on my series 5 44mm, the touch does not work on the bottom 1/4 of the screen. Do you think I did something wrong during installation or could the digitizer have come defective?
Most likely either defective or maybe part of the black sticker got wedged into the connector with the flex. I like to pretest digitizers before the install when possible.
Hi, I changed the digitizer but it refuses to work. Do I have to pay attention to something when installing it? I have already tried with several Apple Watch and changed digitizer several times and still nothing. help pls
Good day, I want to ask how it is with the touch sensitivity from series 4-6 after the digitizer repair. I have experience that watches where the digitizer was changed had a problem with touch after installing tempered glass. Thank you.
With digitizer replacements you rarely get touch issues with a tempered glass as the digitizer should be equidistant on all surfaces of the glass and should convert over with a tempered glass that also has an even distribution of adhesive.
This is so helpful! I ripped my digitizer off removing the cracked glass. The LCD looks perfect, but when I plug it in to test it, it won't light up. Is this just because the digitizer is missing? I don't want to buy a replacement digitizer & glass in vain.
The digitizer is just the touch portion of the display. Below the digitizer is a polarizer and below that is the display itself. If it’s not lighting up double check the connector doesn’t have part of the black sticker in it. If it’s clean and connected all the way and still no image then unfortunately a new display might be needed. The only other thing it might be is if the display flexes got tugged on to hard and have delaminated from the logic board.
Great comment, as stated at the beginning of the video most shops don’t have laminators and autoclaves to do these types of repair. I wanted to show how it can be done without them. There’s pros and cons to doing it both ways. Check 3:30 in the video
Could be a variety of things; either something happened to the Digitizer during the glass separation, the black sticker is inside the connector a little, the flex cable isn't in properly or worst case the flex needs to be replaced.
thank you for your videos. great job! a question - in this clip you are using LOCA to attach digitizer+glass to LCD. But it seems that digitizer already glued to glass, you just glue this glass+digitizer sandwich to LCD with LOCA. The question is: did you buy an already laminated glass+digitizer for this, or used OCA to attach them to each other, or used LOCA for the same? I tried to find such sandwich to buy, but looks like digitizers are sold only separately from glass. So, I wonder if such repair can be done without laminating machine and autoclav.
Whenever you use LOCA you avoid the need for a laminator and autoclave. It takes a little more finesse to do it but totally possible as I’ve done it thousands of times. Your comment about the digitizer being sold separately from the glass surprises me as I’ve never seen that before and digitizers on the series 4 and newer aren’t rigid enough to sell on their own and should come pre-installed on glass from any reputable source. For example MobileSentrix.com Hope this helps.
I change my screen like a year ago and work wonderfully but after the new watchOs my digitizer does not longer work anyone have something similar going on?
Can i use b7000 instead of LOCA glue?

Hi, very well explained. I wanted to know what glue you use to close the watch at the end of the video please?
There are many that will work, but I like cold press sold by Mobilesentrix
@@FIXDPHONES Is it the B7000 or the T8000 or the E8000? And thank you for your answer 👍🏻

Is Apple Watch Series 5 40mm LCD the same as Apple Watch Series 4 40mm?

Why do you use laminate machine? Is loca better than laminate machine?

Hello! One question , what happen if i use a digitizer with laminating oca and then i put Loca? Is it fine?
It’s ok, just means that the display will be recessed more inside the phone. Best to remove it or use it.
@@FIXDPHONES thank you! 🙏
