My frame has mounting pads and fuel tank brackets that look like it has a totally different from the mounting points and brackets Shown on the Yamaha parts locator? I have seen another sold tank with what I believe to be the right ones for my bike? It may be a totally different tank and brackets? Does anyone have any idea what is going on? I would really appreciate any info you may have and I would buy a tank if you have one? The one I bought from eBay looks just like the one on the Yamaha parts diagram but just hope someone knows what the mix-up is and if they made two tanks in that year?
Jatie customs just started restoration on a 1985 Honda XR80 do you have any Avenues where you go to for parts for these little bikes would be highly appreciated
Hi Brent. Rocky Mountain ATV for new OEM parts, they have quite a few still available. Stewart's Cycle and ATV is first on my list, he knows everything about XR75s and will take the time to help. He also does a vapor honing of the cases and other parts for a reasonable price. I found the muffler at Stewarts. RE-MX and 4 into 1 are also places to look as well as eBay. Have fun!
Another nice video and project! Thanks

Looks like a fresh piston judging by how clean it it.
Piston update. It would have run but I shipped off the cylinder to Stewarts for a fresh bore and hone with a .75 over OEM NOS piston.
I have straightened fork tubes on the press, go slightly past the straight point, with heat to spring back.
Holy crap! I am going to try it asap! Thank you Meister!
Where are you located.
Got a 79 YZ 80 that I’m looking to get restored.
