I actually am considering the purchase of this car, already test-drove the previous version and felt pretty awesome as they have managed to keep that RR unique traditional feel of driving a massive yacht on wheels yet with an unprecedented angry kick in the back that seems like the rear wheels are about to tear off the asphalt in style.

Time for an honest objective review. A comparison with the S class and the 7-series. How does it perform in corners? How does it react whilst zig-zagging, how exactly does it respond to different roads. What is the break distance? What are the statistics on fail engines or electronics? All you hear is the usual Rolls-endorsements. You see, building an expensive car isn't that hard. Just perform manual labor, use the most exclusive materials, polish the steel and whatnot, I get it. But how does it actually objectively perform?
It simply depends on your priorities, this car is about half a ton heavier than the contenders you mention so you obviously won't experience that dynamic sporty feel around bends you get at the wheel of a 7er or an A8 but in return this feels stout and solid like a luxury tank.

It still doesn't answer my question. I'd really like to see an objective review where the results of the driving properties and behaviors of the Ghost are laid out like any other car.
Rolls Royce has a german engine, that the reason is sound so beautiful.

In fact, there is no more Rolls Royce at all. BMW licenses the Spirit of Ecstasy, RR logo, name and grille shape from Rolls Royce Aero (Rolls Royce Vickers). It is, body and soul, a BMW

Damn - does every vehicle in the world including RR have to have bucket seats! I remember the old RRs had the classic bench style seating. Some voice over comments would be greatly appreciated as well. One cannot discern this RR over any of the last several years of RR models.

If anything, the jeep cherokee is the one who copied the design.. it sucks these low budget brands have to ruin the design by imitating instead of innovating....

The Rolls Royce Ghost is undoubtedly a beautiful car but it has one serious defect that should be addressed. The driver cannot override the 8 speed automatic transmission to shift his own gears manually. When going down a long, steep hill I want to be the one who decides what gear to shift down into to get engine braking. I don't want a stupid Satellite GPS system doing it for me. This takes all the fun out of driving this car, which it's supposed to provide as compared to a Phantom.

What Lincoln should have done with the Town Car
Beautiful, but the exterior styling just doesn't seem up to snuff with an automobile of this stature. There are a lot of high end autos offered that have better styling. One critic claimed they took their styling from British farm equipment. Look at the Rolls Royce autos from the 1920's into the 60's. They were very, very special. I guess if I could afford it, I probably wouldn't care, just to have the radiator grill and the Spirit of Ecstasy up front.

call your insurance company you would be surprised. your rates are based on your driving record and where you live not the type of car.... Try it i did a comparison between a minivan and a Ferrari the price difference for the year was only $750 or $62 a month try it you would be surprised.. Or call your agent she or he will tell you the price..
