I really like this community we have. It's so chill and positive. We all just like watching this game and we're lucky to have a dude like Grubs to put out the content. What a treat! Some of us have been playing and watching this game since 2002, and it's so nice to be watching someone who was also there back in the days of ROC

It's really insane how such a simple strategy (massing 1 unit type) can be so strong I mean, he didn't do anything too special, fought pretty poorly (take the fight on the bottom left, where he had a supply advantage, lost 4 huntresses, archer, forest troll priest and tp, and killed nothing), and still it was a somewhat close game. If Grubby had a bit worse micro (which was excellent in this game, as always), that would've been a clear loss
It's why mass hunts has so been universally hated for so long. All you need to do is attack move to win a good amount of games. It's partially the reason why the term "noobelf" arose.
He also got a 2nd expand really early on. The idea is have a stronger economy and then just poor out units asap and overwhelm your opponent. I used to do this in sc2 a lot with zealot/archon.
Guys I understand the idea of the strategy. I'm saying that there's nothing special in expanding early, massing hunts, "attack ground" or going for a solo hero I haven't played much in 1.30, but it seems like NE just do the same simple thing over and over, and it tends to work well against anything When I was playing actively (~5 years ago), it was a common thing to have "wars" versus well-known opponents, when we both were coming up with new ideas how to counter each other's strategies. The funniest thing I remember is that versus a specific opponent I had a "standard" dreadlord double fast-expo opening UD vs UD at some maps. And it was really tough and interesting. Now I feel like half of the games (any matchup with NE) is about massing hunts/glaives (which doesn't really vary from game to game) and countering it (challenging task, but IMO such strats shouldn't be an option)
Hey Gruppy, Nice video :) Could you make a video where you explain all items in wc3 and their impact in the game? For example which items are good for a blademaster or which ones are necessary for certain strategies. Its also difficult for me to see if you are ahead or behind in a game.
Now in that narrow corridor their numbers will count for nothing and wave after wave of Night elf attack will smash against Orc shield KOTG losses will be so great his men so demoralized that he will no choice but to abandon his campaign.
That entangle/treants was useless vs spirit walkers late game. Might wonder if max thorns aura would've been better to reflect some damage to the blademaster.

Haven't played in a long time but I never had trouble with keeper as a BM, esp in the early days. I always kept my BM at near full mana, killing Intel heroes so easily. Unless windwalk has changed, it broke any immobilize or slow when I played, making Keeper absolutely defenseless. Spamming windwalk and one or two critical strikes usually meant the end of a keeper, very quick, or he popped invuln, but the BM is so far ahead by then, it doesn't matter. A mana potion would just about guarantee there's enough wibdwalks for spamming damage
I forgot if Grubby goes more critical first. I always went more windwalk first, for backstab damage, using him more like a directdamage nuke hero, then a sustained dps hero
I recall him saying on stream that he is taking a break. He added on by saying that he had also taken a break from SC2 but never ended up coming back to it. It could end up being the same situation with Hots.
Serpent wards and shaman in general is so strong... in this game they are basically half his complete dps. Maybe same dps as his whole army without blade..
@@Hoop248 yeah but they also outrage them and deal bonus damage to them. So I was thinking if you can maintain a front line you should be able to melt huntresses
Very entertaining game, however I think Grubby played this one very poorly tbh. He didnt give claws to BM until last 30 seconds because he forgot about it and he did not go reinforced defenses while having 1800 lumber...

A pair of catapults with their splash damage, would have been wicked @ 18.00, due to your opponent having such a large army.
