I knew that Master Salem was a master of Svate-but I don’t know he was so well rounded in the Inosanto Kali as well-well done-silky smooth and always in complete control-

Same! Professeur Assli is pulling out Boston crabs and fujiwara armbars! His hand fighting is amazing and accompanies his boxe francaise feet perfectly

Try as Salem may, but Savate shines through all his technique here. Looks like Savate/Defense Don la Rue.

besides his amazing speed and complete dedication to the decided moves in the moment, one of Salem Assli's most amazing points is his almost complete lack of telegraphing.

JKD Personal Systems - This type of JKD utilizes the JKD framework along with any techniques from any other style or system to construct a "personal system". This approach utilizes a "building blocks" manner in which to construct a personalized system that is especially tailored to an individual...
Basically you have several options to attack etc, but in the end you need to choose which ones you can most effectively do..it becomes personal..JKD is really principles more than a specific art...

This is a great demonstration of basic Jun Fan gungfu kickboxing. I don't know where you guys have been "trained" but this is showing off the fundamentals of Jeet Kune Do. Don't post if you're ignorant.

Yes but it isn't last evolution bruce lee's jkd.. it is dan inodanto's style with jkd's principals.. its jkd concept.. if you want to learn the last evolution follow ted wong jkd or WNG jkd founded by bob bramer and tim tackett.. bruce lee's students

Finally, a Jeet Kune Do man who says Jeet Kune Do is exclusively Jeet Kune Do is simply not with it. He is still hung up on his self-closing resistance, in this case anchored down to reactionary pattern, and naturally is still bound by another modified pattern and can move within its limits. He has not digested the simple fact that truth exists outside all molds; pattern and awareness is never exclusive. Again let me remind you Jeet Kune Do is just a name used, a boat to get one across..

Don't be pretty sure bro when you're bantering around supposed facts , be very sure. Ted's certificates were signed by Bruce. It's you who might want to have a look. :-).

@thomas007 great point. i mean Salem's background is in Boxe Française, and it's blatant in this demonstration. Looks nothing like Bruce, Dan, or Ted's JKD. Different- as it should be.

Thanks man. I just find it sad that so many people argue about something that was suppose to be simple It's not to be my art vs your art or my teacher is better than your teacher or this is JKD that isn't JKD.
All Bruce was saying was that no one art has all the answers so don't limit yourself to one.Be proficient at all 4 ranges (Punching, kicking, trapping, grappling) regardless of the art you take the techniques from because no one art addresses all 4. That's it..that's JKD..

  • @doobopsheewaa
    @doobopsheewaa 14 років тому

@theawakener7 if you read deep into Bruce's philosophy, especially later, coming close to his death, you realize that even Bruce didn't like JKD. he didn't even want it to have a name anymore, because that is limiting. he started realizing that he didn't want people to see JKD as 'the way', because to him, by the end, the art didn't matter, it was all about the individual artist. but you have a good point about simplicity. he was all about that...

@ncgfbl you must be part of the camp that thinks Dan Inosanto has it wrong - as Salem is ranked directly under Guro Inosanto. Professor Assli is one of the best, and is actually a very big fan of Bruce Lee in addition to being an excellent martial artist.

@SteFanJKD could you please quote or reference something that proves Ted Wong was fully certified by Bruce Lee? i'm not trying to be antagonistic, i just am pretty sure that it is not true.

Go.to see wng jkd founded by bob bramer and tim tackett.. and you will see the last evolution of jkd.. this is an idea of dan inosanto with just fondament of jkd..you cant see here techniques like curve step, front foot slide, quick step, circle, push step, steel.a step, half beat, broken rithm, rear step, lead step, speed jab, wipping jab, flick.jab, jamming, rocker shuffle, shissor shift, where are?

  • @SHaDyFiGuRe

@ncgfbl, if you thought that of this video, then you Obviously have NO idea what Sijo Bruce lee was teaching, has taught or was heading with his teachings

Stefan, if you don't consider this real JKD, why did you put it up? Another question, someone said you're dyslexic, is that true? If so, does it affect your training? Also btw, annoying how the narrator to this video basically misinforms by saying Bruce basically just put a bunch of arts together while obviously there was much more than just blending some arts as one art.
