- controversial opinion, but 600s are not good street bikes! in this video I talk about why I think 600cc sport bikes are not ideal for the street, and why I think 1000cc sport bikes are all around better options for street bikes.

Sport bikes in general are dumb on the street. Uncomfortable, expensive to insure, theft magnets, bad gearing for the street. 1000s are worse than 600s in a lot of ways, especially if you have to sit in the heat.
I do ride a 600 and have to say it keeps up very good, it is not as fast as a 1000 but i can confirm it is still fast at lower rpm (6000rpm)
Also when you do rev them out you are gonna have a lot less trouble with police than revving a 1000 out.
600 plenty of power, 1000 more usable torque.

Usually riders that claim 600's are bad street bikes are the ones cruising around in 1 gear on a 1000 with low rider skill. Just saying /shrug
I usually ride more cafe racer/scrambler style bikes, and it's wild to me that you're cruising around in 2nd at 55mph 😂 I'm usually in 4th or 5th gear depending on how I'm riding
Liters bikes got some tall gears lol, i usually never have leave 3rd 👀
Bro 600cc are fucking awesome for the street it's the sweet spot an the 1000cc are to much for the street my r1 shines out on the highways before u ask I own a 2008 r6 an a 2023 r1
At least they aren't as bad as 550s or 650s, look at it that way.
Well I go above the 1000s... my zx14 is an amazingly great street bike. Don't have to run it up high into the revs for your power. And in my neck of the wood we get lots of wind so the weight is great. Do yourself a favor and give one of these fantastic beasts a try.

18,000 rpm 600's... 1000's not too fast because a 600 is also too fast but a 600 is too slow. Ok gotcha.

I have a 2019 R6 and it’s a hoot on the street. Only gripe is the riding position. I’ll be changing it for an MT09SP in a year or two, I’m just not done with a screaming 4 cylinder yet 😇

@@That.R1 I live in England and our roads aren't as long and open as in the US so a litre bike makes even less sense over here! I live in the new forest which has loads of tight, twisty roads. I struggle to get the R6 to breathe properly so I'm hoping the MT will be even more fun!

600 are bad street bikes lol. They have bad low end power and have to be revved up too high for what makes them special. They’re just overrated.

Having ridden multiple >1kL bikes, K1200s, EBR 1190SX, Yam R1 the 600's are just noise makers and I don't understand why they roll around like they are the bomb. To each their own but not for me. Enjoyed the vid. One thing they do better than the R1? Gas mileage, 25mpg is real.
