    And "they" gave me an ad for these headphones before your review. I think UA-cam is finally getting it right. Aftershokz definitely did people a service by making this model, and coming in at that pricepoint, I would expect more people to be swooping in and buying them.

    Thanks for the review. I came across this because I'm looking for headphones while running on a treadmill so safety isn't a big deal but want something that doesn't fall off my head as I run. Would you still recommend this or a different kind of headphone type considering safety isn't a big deal

    I own a titanium and after a while, the left speaker started producing extra rattling sounds when playing anything of medium volume or higher. I replaced it using the warranty but the buzzing came back after 2 months. I can only conclude that it is an inherent flaw in the manufacturing and or design. Does this issue appear in your Openmove unit? If there isn't a problem I am so ready to make the jump.

    Ive been using Bone Conduction headsets for a few years now so I would like to give everyone who never used one before a few quick little tips:
    Just because bone conduction headphones arent blasting music inside your ears, doesn't mean these cannot hurt your hearing. A common mistake new users do is to have high volume to make up for the ambient noise, without realizing that the headset is still blasting pretty high volume music but through vibrations directly into your inner ear ON TOP of the ambient noise. At higher volumes, you might be affecting your cochlea (the spiral shell part of your inner ear) and the stronger vibrations do feel uncomfortable to some (I am one of them). So if you feel like you cannot hear to the music or something, try putting on some ear-plugs (or even just plug your ears with your finger) just so you can hear how loud things actually are inside your head. By plugging your ears, you also gain a lot of the missing bass that many complain about bone conduction headsets.
    I know many think that ear-plugs are counter-intuitive, given that a big appeal of these headphones is the open-ear design but there are different types of ear-plugs that isolate ambient noise at different levels. Pick one that doesn't block everything and you can still benefit from the extra bass from the vibrations of your skull while still hearing everything around you. I am a musician so I used the regular ear-plugs that I use while rehearsing with my band and they work great with the Aftershockz.
    One last thing that not many mentions but the "beeps" that happen at any keypress do actually annoy me. It isn't a deal-breaker for me, but I figure its a good thing to mention because it might be for others.

      I recently purchased the Aeropex model for cycling purposes, but in regards to playing music, one has to get accustomed to lower volumes or you get those annoying vibrations that sort of tingle. Man, I hate that. But I guess for preventing ear damage, that's a good thing which gives you a sort of reminder to reduce the volume. I'm not sure whether or not I will keep them because I love to hear quality sound from music. Bone conduction does reduce that. I will, though try your suggestion of wearing the ear plugs, but, if you do that, why not then get a good quality pair of ear pods? My friend has a pair of those Apple Pro models that apparently allow for ambient noise around you to be heard. He says he loves them, other than the fact they are quite expensive. But, before I give up on these, I'll try your suggestion. Much mahalo!!

    • @mariofeared
      @mariofeared 3 роки тому +1

      @@kelalamusic9258 like I mentioned in my comment, I'm also one of those that don't like the vibrations at higher volumes. But like you said, it's a good indication that you might be listening too high volume.
      As for the ear plugs, you can buy ear plugs that doesn't completely shut off external sounds. You'll get a little benefit from both sides: higher volume and bass while still hearing everything around you.
      As for the airpods, you'd definitively get better sound quality out of those as you lose fidelity with Bone conduction. It's a matter of seeing what works best for you. I never tried them so I can't say how well the external sounds processing works.
      When I go for a run, I use headphones and they work great. At the gym, I like the low volume as it sounds like my own personal soundtrack.
      Good luck and I hope you enjoy your headphones with ear plugs.

      The USB-C connector is located next to the Power/Volume Up Button, and is covered by small rubber flap. It comes with a short (about 12 inches long) USB-A/USB-C cable that can be plugged into an AC to DC converter. If I remember correctly, it needs to put out 1 watt and 5 volts but check to make sure.

    These confuse me. Are they a step up or down from the Air and Aeropex which both still cost more? Or are they an upgraded Titanium model? I wish Aftershokz would spend a bit more time explaining fit around the ear. I assume that the transducers should sit on the tragus but none of the bone conduction makes are taking a stand.

    I just picked this up the other day, and now I feel very mislead by the term "bone conduction" since it's basically just a close speaker that sends audio through the skin near your ear and not anything special like they claim. You can hear the audio perfectly when you aren't wearing them so it's literally just another pair of wireless earbuds, but besides that being able to openly hear everything around you is for sure a plus.

Through the mine it send it to the eardrum so u can hear everything around u without loosing your hearing…. Same thing that oculus does with their fr headsets

Until purchasing OpenMove I used a pair of Koss PortaPros and they are great headphones for the money. However, I also like the OpenMove too. They are comfortable to wear, light, stay in place, and work well with my Digital Audio Player (a Sony Walkman A55).
