Yup. I stopped installing braids in my hair. I have a sensitive scalp so the itch was REAL, plus the rashes. Even when it was braided a bit loose, I still had issues. I do agree, the braiding hair does have a lot of bacteria. I did not think about washing it before. However, I have been doing wash and go’s for almost two years now, and I find that to be a better solution for my hair.
Yes the chemical use on the braiding and weave hair causes the allergic reactions which is the itching. So I always soak hair in apple cider vinegar which cleans the hair. You actually see the chemical in the water coming off hair. I only discovered it because I was itching so bad and wanted to know why, also noticed some girls patting their weave which is the itching. So I researched it.
Thats so crazy to me! I literally had to ask my friends why we don't wash the hair lol. The more research I do, the more scared I become lol! In this video I said I would do braids, but I did more research and now I don't even know if I will. Did you notice a difference after washing?

Try steam treatments also and products with peppermint or lavender to invigorate your scalp

I feel like when I got knotless and regular, my scalp got itchy within the week. But when I do them myself, not so much, but still apparent lol

braiding hair doesn't affect me so I don't wash it (I just learnt this last year). and I'm one of the back to back braid girls 😅
IM SO JEALOUS LOL!!!! When I was younger I did braids back to back...I miss those days.
