  • This weeks review is another re review, finally getting back round to trying bottles again on where I done my first thoughts after popping the cork… this one has just taken longer than expected. But here is the Bowmore 12yo islay single malt 40%abv filtered and a bit of caramel in there. Will it still be a decent dram?
Let’s find out and as always let’s talk whisky

It may not be the same Bowmore, but the Vault Sea Salt Edition is one I received a sample of and ended up buying since I liked it so much. It's kind of buried behind few bottles now and this review makes me want to pull it out and revisit it as I agree Bowmore can put out some good stuff 👍. Cheers!

Kevin - great review. Like the the 15 and 18 a bit more and any independent bottlings you can find are soooo much better. They need to let the spirit shine through a bit more, but still one of my favorites.

Another interesting review thanks Kevin. I just looked the 12 yr old up here and it’s on sale right at the £40 range

Not a fan of Bowmore core range bottles. However I love the Bowmore flavor profile especially the way the delicate subtle peat profile integrates with the rest of the flavors. Been through one Valts edition 1 bottle, have a backup and hope to get another. Always on the lookout for independent bottles that are reasonably priced. Cheers Kevin

    Thanks for reviewing Kevin.
As you said, this is an entry level whisky. I've had it earlier in my journey and back then it was ok. Now not so much anymore.
