- We are in Gibraltar, a British Overseas Territory located at the southern tip of the Iberian Peninsula. This interesting place is covering an area of 6.7 km2. Gibraltar is bordered to the north by Spain and is known for the "Rock" (of Gibraltar), beneath which lies a densely populated town area. The town is home to around 32,688 people according to a 2022 estimate.
The territory was established as a watchtower by the Almohads in 1160 and changed hands several times during the Middle Ages. It was captured by Anglo-Dutch forces in 1704 during the War of the Spanish Succession and later ceded to Great Britain in 1713 under the Treaty of Utrecht.
During its history Gibraltar served as an important base for the Royal Navy, controlling the strategic Strait of Gibraltar. The sovereignty of Gibraltar remains a issue in Anglo-Spanish relations, despite the residents' clear preference to remain under British control with referendums held in 1967 and 2002.
On this walk we are starting at the South Bastion. From there we walk northward along Main Street, exploring several side streets to get a feel beyond the main shopping street. We also have a look around the Ocean Village and marina.
One interesting feature of Gibraltar is the airport, where people walk across the landing area on their way to the border with Spain. That's what we do on our final stretch of this walk before we finish our tour near the border control.

The walking tour was truly wonderful! Thanks for sharing.😍
It is a living history !
God willing, we toured with you a lot, with very wonderful views, buildings and roads
Que Inglaterra le devuelva Gibraltar a España le pertenece , muy bueno el vídeo.
Saludos desde Buenos Aires, Argentina 🇦🇷
Gibraltar is British, as is the Falkland Islands 🇬🇧
Cool trip, interesting place. Nie to watch your video. Greetings from Poland!
The best way to visit is really enroute with an early bus from Marbella continuing to Cadiz or Seville around 16:00. A few years ago I hiked up the rock through the Nature Reserve which was also nice and surely the way to go for a first time visit. The town and main street is rather small and can be seen in an hour or two, like the video shows.
I took the bus from Seville to Gibraltar back in 2000; spent the day up on the rock and saw all attractions there. Did not do much of the area you covered in this video. Would be nice for you to include some tips for people who've never been to the places you are recording. I also suggest you cut out the noise on the streets, and instead include some easy music. Some vloggers do that and it's nice. @@poptravelorg
Love it ❤👏
Great quality!
Thanks! The new Osmo Pocket 3 indeed is a step up. I still have some 100 Pocket 1 or 2 videos to post. Still, HDR will be used primarily on all new recordings. It takes my computer 6 times longer to colorgrade and UA-cam also needs extra days to encode. Still, I'm looking forward to more filming with this new camera..
well thanks for putting in the effort. The main thing i find is the 60FPS, makes it looks so much smoother. HDR 60FPS is even more amazing!@@poptravelorg
Lets hope we keep gibraltar
Not if Cameron had his way.
It feels like a mixture of half England and half Spain.
Hey, do you plan to go to Freiberg (Germany, near Dresden)?
I already recorded Freiberg end of last summer. I may make the video public soon as it's currently just uploaded without intro in the members section. There are still 100+ videos to publish after getting their route preview
@@poptravelorg Okay thanks. The Coswig-Radebeul area (~Dresden) is also very nice
Je te souhaite tout le meilleur et du succès Bonne chance, bon voyage, toujours le meilleur, mon frère١:١٢:٠٠
