I can’t stand the “creator” community... just look at how jealous and pretentious most of them are, (shout out to anyone who showed enthusiasm,) so egotistical and can’t even share the pure joy Rhett and Link are radiating and graciously trying to share with the audience. No wonder “content creators” get a rep for being so toxic, selfish, cringey, and pathetically laughable. Rhett and Link are the exact opposite- the most genuinely down to earth, creative, deserving, original, charming, talented people in that room, not to mention the only ones who are ACTUALLY funny. That being said, I feel like they’re so much better than the Streamy Awards and its nominees anyway- They’ve been featured on Vanity Fair’s Channel, they’re New York Time’s best-selling authors, they’ve made multiple appearances on Jimmy Fallon, get invited to Hollywood Award Season after parties and GQ Man of the Year, and they have always stayed original and genuinely themselves. They’re on another level!

Some of them aren't really "creators" by 'golden + silver - utube era terminology. Simply augmentation of duplicative patterns of nowadays markative trends that lean towards businesses.

I wonder if some of the bitterness is because GMM isn't just a web show. I mean, they are regular guests on The Tonight Show! That's a lot of exposure. So to the other nominees it might feel like they're playing with a stacked deck.
Phyrre56 GMM is just a web show that only airs on UA-cam just like the rest. They have built a show on a platform that appeals to a huge array of the population from children to adults. Most of the others appeal to a limits age group. And they are master marketers, that know how to promote themselves and their brand. They were already huge before the tonight show as well.

Yeah doubt it had anything to do with GMM. Most people know they're an OG channel and respect what they've done.
I imagine these shows are always kind of a drag to get through, and you never know if you're going to be on camera or not, so it's hard to maintain acting like you're enjoying yourself all night when you probably just wanna leave.
And then of course people project and assume that they're all petty haters or whatever when in reality they're probably just ready to go home.

I started watching them when I was living with my dad and was doing an apprenticeship. I remember them keeping me company when I moved out and into my first apartment. When I renovated and painted the walls and build my ikea furniture I was watching them. Idk this makes me emotional man
I feel that. They've made me laugh in the toughest times. It's just awesome that media platforms can be a source of connection, not just entertainment. Not to mention the years of work Rhett, Link, and the whole Mythical crew have put into perfecting their internetainment.
