Agh I know what you mean about not having enough time to make art during this busy holiday season managing a shop and social media. I'm really looking forward to the time off to make whatever art I want. I love the flowers you did! Also really interesting to see your editing setup!
@@paulwoodford1984 ??? excuse me?
Thank you!!!! yeah holiday season is INSANE!!! it was my first real "grind" though so it was honestly really fun!!! (in hindsight lolol)
slay, paul. you've solved all my issues, thanks so much. (it's almost like this IS my nine to five!!!)
We've said many times how much it helps people new to art see the reality of sustaining a studio, and how to address all the tasks that don't involve making art while still getting some easel time! Lots of artists decline portrait commissions, or go through periods where they are closed to proposals. That's really common for exactly the reasons stated here. Love that you showed using compression sleeves, because you have to take care of your health if you're going to stay productive and creative!
quick tip! whenever i drop my pencil sharpener shavings on the floor, i use a long strip of tape (any tape) to pick it all up. saves sooo much time!
Being at school as an art major I feel the struggle of never having time to make art, which is funny because that’s what I’m there for. I make art but it’s not for myself and because of all the work I have to do I don’t really have time to make art for myself. Which is sad because that’s why I’m in school as an art major. Maybe this new year I’ll have a little more time.
I always love "Day in the life" videos!!!
Hi! Thank you for sharing your day with us, that is always lovely to see! I love that you actually do art during your days. I also try my best to draw as much as I can, and yes. Editing videos takes a while :)) but that's okay. Thanks again for sharing!
I just recently found your channel and I get so much motivation to draw whenever I watch your videos and I'm super thankful!
hi al! i just wanted to let you know i’m LOVING the new video editing style & content! i’ve been following for quite a while now, and i’ve always loved your style. i’ve quite literally watched you go from 6-50k!! i’m so proud of you, keep it up ❤
wow, that's crazy!!! thanks so much for sticking around
Thanks for sharing this. Great to see behind the scenes of how artists work and live!
Even tho art and crafts are part of my daily life it's not a professional aspect of my days and i absolutely EAT this kind of content. don't know what about looking other people working is so lovely but I really enjoyed this video ❤️
In reference to the art inspiration, remember at the beginning of the video on your morning walk you were on the lookout for herons, cute little critters (aka egrets) and pink flowers you found (that looked a little bit like hydrangeas to me) that you had to paint?
Sometimes it's really lovely to get a daily schedule like this! Fascinating to see how others fill their days and how art and the other tasks assosciated with the business side are tackled impacts different people :D
always nice to see the day in the life videos. love how the flower painting turned out!
18:00 i know u hate video editing but i love it! Its just the process and the elements just like making art and i make a priority to put a balance between editing and making art along with more priority with a idea of time blocking everything. I know most will not want or keep with that but it doesn't mean to try. At least i know i will have to take regular breaks while working long hours like 10 hours.
I've been loving all these videos recently! I feel like we're just chilling doing art together:)
YAY!! i love that!!!
I LOVE these type of videos! It let’s us get more personal with the artist aka you! ☺️🥹💖 also!! Your dog is adorable ❤
I really liked this day in the life (: thanks for taking us along!!
your channel is so comfy to me. im getting absolutely spoiled this month
I’m loving this posting schedule!!
yay i'm so glad!!!!
Thanks for all the efforts you are putting in...love ur content ♥️
Yay another video. I'm gonna take myself a break and watch this ❤️
I adore day in the life videos so this is awesome!!
I VERY THIS PAINTING OF FLOWERS ITS A BEATIFUL.
What's the app you used to "clock in" for your art job? Apologies if you've already answered! Loved this vid.
it's called hourstracker!
Love this so much!!!
hey!!
I'm still sick and will be staying home again tomorrow, but I managed to take a shower today and wash my hair.
I had my first proper meal of the day way too late (5.30 pm) because I lose my appetite when sick, so I'm glad I at least had something
I also finally managed to draw a bit yesterday!
also, how do you upload so often?? I keep missing videos because they are so frequent, it's insane how the quality is also so great!
you make great content and we love it!!
hi! i absolutely loved the video and the valuable information you've sprinkled across it. one aspect i was really fascinated by was your use ofthe hourly tracker app. I was curious as to what you might put for the hourly rate since it's freelance or does that part not matter at all or not as much as just clocking in hours? how do you pay yourself based on your hours?
I love seeing the behind the scenes of your filming and editing process!
I felt it when you said "I am so nosy" 😭👀 Also speaking of which, I am curious of how this works for you. How do you manage to gain a sufficient amount of money to support yourself doing what you do.
So nice to see you paint a real picture. It's interesting that you said a lot of "artists" on you tube don't do a lot of art. I was thinking that very same thing and honestly I stopped following and subscribing a lot of you tube"artists" because now I am very disappointed with them. It seems like the only artists on you tube left are ridiculous SWATCH ARTISTS AND PRODUCT REVIEWS.
FOR THE SAKE OF SANITY. I THINK PEOPLE ARE VERY CAPABLE TO DO THEIR OWN SWATCHES IF THEY NEED THEM. 2. STOP PUSHING CONSTANTLY PRODUCTS ON PEOPLE JUST BECAUSE THEY ARE YOUR SPONSORS. I NEVER SEE ANY REAL ART FROM THESE YOU TUBE "ARTISTS ANYMORE, BUT THEY WANT THUMBS UP AND SUBSCRIPTIONS....FOR COLORING 1-120 SQUARES.....
What kind of dog do you have
I always get called out for calling 50 degree weather cold but I’m from California - that IS cold!!! 😂 also I’m weak
I had to look up how much that is in Celsius and damn, that is not cold :)) but I understand if you live in warm weather, a temperature drop can get to you. Don't catch a cold please!
@@MariJadeWrites Yes it’s not cold at all 😂 I’m sure if I lived in a colder place I would grow a thicker skin! Thank you and I hope you stay warm as well~
@@meiirono thank you! It's snowing nearly every day here and I drink lots of tea to stay warm. 😊👍
@@MariJadeWrites snow + tea is the BEST combo ❄️🍵
As someone from Michigan I always think that when I hear someone call 50 degrees really cold (it’s current in the 35 degree range and it can get so much colder here), so right now that sounds warm lol. But our seasons change so drastically and 50 would likely feel cold during our 75-90 degree summers 😂
lol, people dont realize that artist unfortunately dont do art all day, would be great if we could tho!
what do you think about yourself?
this question is so ominous
I wanted to find out about her life as an artist but realised it was an advertisement and stopped watching..
