If Garry was to stop telling us how great he is for ten minutes, find a gym that can tolerate his presence without wanting to tie him up and throw him off a sky scraper, and then train to finish guys, develop an ounce of humility, he'd by golden..Flipping off Neil Magney during that fight, is hard for me to get past..Don't care about his personal life at all..

@@Lord_of_the_Pies Not really, Leon needs a challenge and Colby has never beaten anyone who isn't coming off a loss and near retiring (go look at his fight history, its shockingly bad for what some call an elite fighter), the only respectable fights were two losses against Usman who Leon beat. Leon doesn't at all consider Colby a challenge and thats his own words and his actions proved it.

The thing with Ian is his wife, not so much him. She is behind all of the decisions - hiring her ex as his nutritionist, going after Neil Magny as a child abuser, the Geoff Neal mugshot t-shirt (I didn't mind this so much), standing next to him off camera and prompting him on interviews, setting up cameras so he can cry on instagram for sympathy. Not to mention the WAG book.
There's something really insidious and disingenuous about her, like she's latched onto him and is pulling the strings in the background, but also she has to be there in the foreground as well, for the attention. He's a young, impressionable guy and I think he's being very poorly managed and manipulated by his wife/manager.
🤣 Getting him to go after Magny as a child abuser & wear the mugshot shirt are new ones. She must be clairvoyant to know what Magny was gonna say at the presser 🤣🤣🤣

@@hibernopithecus7500 Sheeple? Not the brightest spark are you. She watched Magny's presser and told Ian what to say. He also acknowledged the t-shirt was her idea. No clairvoyance needed. She has prompted him on more than one occasion to say what she told him to, it's not some big revelation.

And I’ve seen the video where he got “directed” during his interview; proof the people saying that are incels, else they’d know that women distract men all the time when they’re on the phone. The whole narrative around Ian is, in the words of Uncle Chael,”Getting asked to add 2+2 & giving the answer ‘a potato’”.
Even the WAG book was an obvious piss-take of WAG culture. You can’t even credibly call 11 pages a book; it’s more a magazine pullout. Blown way out of proportion.
So yeah, if you’re still buying or selling the narrative around Ian & his missus, you’re one of the sheeple.

I think Ian is a solid fighter (though his performance was awful) but his strategy of ramming his wife down everyone's throats while sayint no one can criticize her is insane.
It was bizarre to see her in multiple close ups and waiting for him at the end of his walk out. It's hard to remember another time that's happened. Very odd. Like he updated his contract insisting she is promoted endlessly to "prove the fans wrong" or something.
It will backfire.
You know he isn't the one responsible for the TV direction. The producers knows what gets people talking and they knew they would stir up people on social media by getting cameras on his wife. He wasn't the one shoving his wife down everyone's throats. It was the MMA fanbase and their band wagoning. All this started because of that book she released and then then the ex husband nutritionist stuff made it worse. He's getting hate because of his wife, not the other way round.
I thought it was a pretty impressive performance to neutralise Neal, minus the hand slapping BS. Neal is super dangerous and could do nothing. The whole wife thing, jeez… 🤦♂️
@@121boweThe difference I'd that people shouldn't hate him because his wife is cringe. As he's her husband, younger than her and her client he is somewhat docile in that relationship and he's gullible. People are giving him a lot of the abuse though which is low hanging fruit.
It’s actually very simple, all he needs to do is 1. Appologise to Neil Magny for being an absolute prick 2. Be an active fighter 3. Get a finish in his next fight

I used to believe " all you have to do is just win" but man that ian fight should not have been on PPV MacKenzie dern and lamos was way better that chines guy Zhang even though it was 1 minute it was way better than 15 minutes of that ian fight..
I think Garry should take the Paula Costa route I remember at a certain point Costa wasn’t liked especially with the whole wine drinking before the Izzy fight and the whole fight situation with Marvin, but started not not take himself to serious, putting funny tweets/videos out doing the whole secret juice thing and having fun with it ended up winning fans over, I think the Gar-man should chill out have a bit of fun with it not take everything to serious

Ian Garry took his wife's name, and hired her ex-husband as his nutritionist, who then put him on a vegan diet.
He constantly plays the victim, and threatened to sue people for saying mean things about him. Yet he called Neal Magny a child abuser and sold t-shirts with Geoff Neal's mug shot.
He also has no sense of humor, is cringe in interviews, and his point fighting style can be boring.
There is no hope whatsoever for him to turn it around with the fanbase.
The fanbase likes Sean who is sexist, bigot, hypocrite and also has point fighting style. Also why does his girl and nutritionist bother you makes no sense

Colby fight is a huge step up for Ian Garry
He's a step up but not impossibly so. Many fighters have beaten people ranked a lot higher than them. Jack Della Maddalena beat Gilbert Burns eventhough Burns was ranked 4th and Maddalena ranked 11th. I don't think Ian struggles to be honest. I think he beats Colby relatively simply and it will surprise a lot of people.
He's arrogant without charisma, that's a bad combo. His strange life choices is his own and everyone's different, but the way he tried to portray Magny as a monster, is honestly near impossible to forgive. It's not even the hypocrisy of lying about someone while complaining people lie about you, but the things he would make casuals look at Magny as a terrible person.
Garry has skills but I don't think he's gonna be able to save his likeability, so just stick to being skillful.
I don't get why a fighter would like to be liked. Ian should become a villain and tell the fans they are poor and weak and bam you'll sell more PPVs and be a bigger star

He can’t win back the ones that have been shitting on him, but it doesn’t really matter. Winning will solve everything and people will tune in to watch him lose. Either way they’re watching.
The Fans don't respect what Garry did in Boston saying Magny was a child beater actually messed up, Magny just said ill spank him like my son typical fighter trash talk Ian Garry blows it out of proportion, this actually got Magny into almost losing custody of his kids, also his unsportsmanlike behavior in Boston flipping off Magny was childish.
Hardy you know Leon better than a lot of other coaches and Ian tried lying about them throwing Garry out of Team Renegade, because Leon was worried about him. Leon then came out and said the guy was unprofessional, bringing cameras in all the time, showing up late to the Practices and not following gym etiquette(rules), and always bringing his wife into the gym distracting the Guy's obviously.
Neal should have just stood in the centre and not chased him. Ian didn't poke him because he didn't step forward
He doesn't need to. The worst possible thing when you are in the public eye is nobody talking about you. Think of all the people who have fought in the UFC that nobody remembers.

Ive always been an Ian Garry fan, but when he called Leon a b**ch & slagging leon that was done for me . I think after the Neil Magney incident he shouldve apologised, he is a good fighter but some his ways are wrong. Dont agree with all the crap he got with his family, but if u dish it out u do have to recieve it. The Garry/Neal fight was a huge let down , well done to Garry getting the W hes a young lad but just some his ways he needs to change. Just my opinion

I think Ian Garry should definitely apologize to Magny for being an enormous dickhead for no reason. I don't care about any of the silly instagram drama, but you can't be so openly disrespectful to fighters, fail to finish them when they're on one leg for two rounds, and expect the fans to stick around.
