great video! super useful and clear instructions! QUESTION: can I use the riser system in a non CAIR saddle? the wintec saddle im looking at tomorrow is wool flocked.
I don’t think so. The risers are to create different sized panels to properly fit your horse, which you can easily do with wool flocking. You’d just need to get a saddle fitter out and add more wool to the panels.
I just bought a Bates Hunter Jumper Saddle. I also have an old Wintec Isabel saddle. Do they use the same gullet plates or have the plates been updated? Thank you. Great video!
Hi, Yes, the Bates Hunter Jumper features the EASY-CHANGE Gullet System, which is also used in the Wintec Isabell saddle. So you will be able to use the same gullets (EASY-CHANGE Gullets) you have for your Wintec Isabell in the Bates Hunter Jumper. I hope this is of help. Customer Services.
Hi. I have an Arena saddle which is compatible with the easy change gullet system, easy change riser system, and CAIR. Since I have bought my saddle, it has not been adjusted. Right now, it is too tight on my horses withers but too wide on her backside. If I changed the gullet to a wider one and put risers in the back of the saddle do you think it would help my situation? Thanks!
My Saddle is a Bates All Purpose with the Easy Change system. Will the WIDE gullets fit this saddle, which is not the WIDE Bates, just the regular one? (please say yes!!! My horse is sooooooo fat!)
Hi Caroline, Thank you for your comment. The standard tree Bates All Purpose saddle is able to be used with gullets ranging from narrow (yellow) to extra wide (white). If you were needing a gullet above this then the wide tree saddle would be needed. I hope this information helps and if you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact us on 01706 507555
I have successfully adjusted the tree of my older Bates dressage saddle however I'm having an issue with the billets. By going to a wider tree, I just moved to the red, the front bill it becomes too short relative the back billet. There is a velcro adjustment on the back leg of the back Billet however it's already adjusted as far as it is possible to go. I cannot find any way to adjust the front Billet. Am I missing something? Or doing something wrong? Also when I tighten up that back leg of the back Billet, the front leg of the back bill it just sags which I'm sure is not good for creating equal pressure along the horses back. Please help!! Because there's no point in the tree fitting his back when the billets are all out of whack so bad I can't adjust my girth correctly.
Hi Lydia, Thank you for your comment and the information provided. In this situation, we would suggest that getting a saddle fitter would be the best option. Without being able to see the horse or saddle and fit in person, it's difficult to advise correctly on how the saddle fits. I hope this information helps and if you have any further questions please don't hesitate to get in touch with our customer service team on 01706 507555.
HI all, don't believe it it is easy. 2 hours and my saddle is still not back together. Going to a wider gut is a challenge. It is not easy. The saddle will not go back together. The M Toulouse genesis saddle is a much better saddle and the gullet change is a built in adjustment. The holes are lining up and no idea how to get my Bates to line up so the screw holes match.
An actually REALLY clear and useful video. Great job girls

all wintecs and bates that have easy change gullets use the same set of plates

So how do you put the saddle BACK TOGETHER AGAIN?
I know this is sarcasm, but you put it back together the way you took it apart lol
I have a question 🙋♀️ does the back panel of the saddle have to be adjusted to fit horse properly or it doesn’t matter. ?

J'aime beaucoup votre selle. Elle est très jolie et très confortable. Elle est très pratique pour changer les different arçon.

What size of screwdriver was used to take the saddle apart and remove the gullet please?
It's Australian size, which is two sizes larger than Texas size.

I wish all this stuff would just come with the saddle when you buy it it’s kind of annoying having to buy everything separately.
It’s so you can have 1 saddle for multiple horses because saddles are not cheap 😅
Mine did.
How wide does it go up to

What is the name of that saddle
