    Thank Angela, now I can justify buying your rulers! I didn’t know how well they were going to work out on a long arm. Love your videos and your sense of humor.

    Thank you for your videos. I get so much help and confidence in going forward with trying new techniques. I’m an “insecure” quilter, mainly because I think it has to be perfect. You have helped me so much to just “let it go” and work at enjoying the process. Your love for quilting is infectious. Thank you so very much. And red wine is my favorite! Wish I could give you a hug right now.

    This is great, I have never used rulers. In fact I normally hand quilt because my only machine is over 40 years and the throat is too small to use for quilting. I love your videos. Can't wait to get a sit down machine so I can start machine quilting too!

      Marcelle Speake I recently upgraded myself to an older Bernina with a 12 inch throat. I had just the machine you probably have for basic sewing. I can hardly wait, I ordered the set of Quilting rulers from QIMT web page.

    Thank you Angela for such a clear, instructional video. I really liked the black fabric with the gold thread - it made everything so easy to see. I don't know how you got such a great camera angle, but we can see almost every stitch you make. What an excellent video!

    A great video, just right for me as a beginner. I also like how you encourage us not to worry. Too often I'm cramped because everything is supposed to be right. The length of your video is correct for beginners. I am also glad, because then I can read the translation in the subtitles. Thank you very much.

    Hey Angela, this is awesome. I was able to catch your newest Craftsy class for free this past weekend. SCORE!!! I've got your rulers, well three of them, and they are superior to the other ones I own. I am still a beginner on the domestic, tried the longarm - but huge learning curve there! Just read that you have more in the works which is great. Please keep up the good work you are doing. You are a natural instructor, fun to watch and I am always amazed and sadden a bit when the class is over. Your bud, Tula is coming to Ottawa this month - so excited. The two of you together would be even better. Cheers.

    Angela, Thanks for this video. I am always amazed at how easy you make things look. I have a Babylock Tiara III and am wondering if you could possibly make a video showing how to ruler quilt on a sit down long arm. I have a couple of rulers I purchased at a quilt and craft show, but find it cumbersome trying to hold the ruler and move the quilt at the same time. Any secrets or tips you can give me. I absolutely love and enjoy your videos. I SEW wish I could meet you one day. Thanks for any info you can give me and have a super day!

    Hi Angela, great tutorial on the curves and rulers. What is your recommendation on stitches per inch, does more or less make a difference in the curves?

    • @AngelaWaltersfmq
      @AngelaWaltersfmq  6 років тому

      I don't think it makes a huge difference. However, if you are quilting something with points, you may want to use more stitches so that you can get a nice point. Maybe something like 12 per inch.

    What do you think of sit-down longarms?

    • @peghendel1088
      @peghendel1088 6 років тому

      I got a Sweet 16 in December and am loving it! I had been using a friend's longarm off-on for 3 years and find the sit-down better for me- not limited to 12" throat. Angela's rulers work great on SW16 as they are well proportioned and have grippers on the back to make pushing fabric through easier. I've done small and big lap-size quilts with no problem. Just have to make your space efficient for positioning the quilt as you work and move.

    • @AngelaWaltersfmq
      @AngelaWaltersfmq  6 років тому

      I think they are amazing! They are perfect for the person that might not have the room for a traditional longarm, can't stand for long periods of time, or just prefers to move the fabric. I do sell the Sweet 16 from Handi Quilter. If you have any moe specific questions about the machine you can email them to me at jeremywaltersquilting@gmail.com. Hope that helps!

    Angela can I get a foot for an old machine when the dealers are no longer in business. I have some quilting rulers but have never tried them yet also want to learn free motion quilting. I have a Kenmore machine probably made in about the 1960's. Feed dogs do not lower on it however I understand that they can be covered up. Another machine that I have is a Koyo model #1450. This machine needs a new hook but there are no longer any dealers to contact. Some of the time it is in working order and some times the tension is off. Have had it worked on by a repairman. The Kenmore model # is 1211. Just need to know how I can purchase a foot for these old machines so I can learn free motion and ruler quilting. Do I just need to purchase a more modern machine or what?

    The designs are beautiful. But, I do not see how you line them up, or how wide the finished design is. Do you mark or measure? I thought I would use this for a 4 inch border. I bought the ruler. There are no instructions and no lines or measurements in your video. Can you provide the basics about how I would do that?

    I was just watching "reruns" of the Midnight Quilt Show when I got this notification! Hooray! PS - How much is an average mid or longarm machine? Don't worry, you can't shock me with the price, even if it's more than, say, $50!! PPS - Because I know the machines are _a little more_ than $50, do you still offer quilting services?

    • @AngelaWaltersfmq

      They range anywhere from 5,995 to 27,995, depending on the type of machine that you want. If you want some more specific info, just shoot me an email at angelawaltersquilting@gmail.com. Thanks so much for watching!!! (((hugs)))

      yes! just be sure to use a ruler foot (has higher ring around the needle to protect the ruler. These rulers already have a gripping element on the back so help "push" the quilt under the needle.

    All I can think of during your recent videos is ewww! Your use of low loft batting makes your beautiful quilting so blaa. Not motivating me to try these ideas at all. Using a higher loft batting would really show the beautiful texture you are creating. I'm so sorry for your wasted effort. 😥. With love 💜 from sunny 🌞 Arizona 🌵.
