Peter's so eloquent and hilarious in his reviews. "These are a dreary bunch...oh my goodness." And then towards the end, "It's the breeze, like a stale fart." Lol. Love Jay and Peter's honest assessments. ;)
Another great battle for our heroes! Thanks, guys for this immense sacrifice! Hope you'll get some hidden wine gems from around the world, and also some less well-known grape varieties!
Absolutely love your videos! You and Peter are such a great pair. I would love to see a video where you pick your 6 favourite wines, and then Peter picks his 6 favourite wines (any price) in a blind tasting, and you find the number 1!
You can get drinkable Chardonnay in Europe for 10 Euros (Germany for example). It will not win any competitions or can be compared to Burgundy or other fine wines but at least they are honest wines without too much oak and from decent grapes.
I thought I hated chardonnay but maybe I only had cheap, over-oaked, astringent butter bombs up till now! I still have a bottle of Au Bon Climat from your recommendation in my wine box, so maybe I'll drink it this week.
Do you remember how the Au Bon Climat was? And how is it reflecting back on 2 years of drinking. I don't participate more often than once or twice a month and I've had a decent amount of wine but I always wonder if people who really got into wine end up regretting it or not. I love anecdotal stories because it feels like a real person on the other side with a 100% valid experience
I can’t remember how I stumbled across this channel, but I am glad I did! Such great guys and content 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽 I’m not even a wine drinker (yet) but I really enjoy watching the experts talking with such hilarious banter
I think the most important thing that your videos teach me is how grateful I should be for living in France 🥳 (I tasted not so long ago at a producteur a Pinot Gris for less than 10 euros and it was incredible I would love a video of Alsace terroir wines btw 🤗) Great content keeeeeeep making videos please !!!!!
Love your videos and one Chardonnay that’ll never leave my mind is the Grand Ardèche Chardonnay from Louis Latour, the price/quality ratio is outstanding. Even the ‘regular’ Chardonnay Louis Latour produces is excellent. I’d love to see you two taste those wines!
At that price range I believe you can get Casablanca, Limarí or coastal Cachapoal. Good places for White wines from Chile. (And without fake oak). Cheers 🍷
Jay, you should taste by appellation. Example, Amador or Sierra Foothills are making some of the best wines and have many varietal choices. Paso etc...
I agree! I keep saying itd be fun to surprise him with mystery wine varietals (like 0 information going in) from the Republic of Georgia. Another funny one could be trying wines from here in Virginia, would love to see them rip some up, or be pleasantly surprised by some others.
I watched that bourbon barrel-aged wine and went out and got myself a bottle just to see what the fuss was about. Usually sub-par wines find their way into my ragu, but not this time. I won't even water my plants with that filth.
Man as an italian I really can’t believe there is so little quality in cheap wines from new world. Here in italy inexpensive under 10 euro wines are still perfectly drinkable.
8:15 I can see the kind of anger in his fingers flipping that page. lol. I feel like even I have to apologize for you to drink those Chardonnay! Sorry Peter!
I would like to see a video of wine you guys like at a reasonable price point. Maybe something like a Chardonnay at what price point should I be expecting a nice wine. Same thing for other varietals. I think educating us on what to expect from a wine at a certain price point would be helpful. Like this video we kinda all know you are not going to find a nice Chardonnay for under $10. I would like to know how to pick a nice Chardonnay or other varieties of grapes. I get so discouraged when I buy a wine for around $30 just to find out it’s crap. But if I would have picked a different grape for $30 it could have been wonderful. Let say I have $20 dollars to spend for an acceptable bottle of wine. How do I pick a acceptable wine?

Thanks again guys. I agree with you, cheap American Chardonnays are some of my least favorite wines. Best Peter quote to hand-selected lots... "Ohhh I'm sure." hahhahahah. I would have liked to see Peter go on more of a rant like the Bourbon Barrel episode. Speaking of, I made a reaction video to your Bourbon Barrel Aged wine and blind Bordeaux video. I hope you enjoy it... ua-cam.com/video/2FBWVt7Kmi8/v-deo.html
They reviewed the Barefoot Chard in 2019 in this video: ua-cam.com/video/_QmLiemDwjY/v-deo.html (cheap white summer wines) and they said it was excellent and very good for the price. Now it’s terrible? I’ve asked Jay why that is and he keeps deleting my comment.

i was given 3 bottles of Yellowtail,(Australia's worst wine maker) chardonay. Now I admit i'm Reisling first. Sauvignon blanc second. Chardonay is way down near the bottom. I tasted ONE glass of this chardy and threw it out, along with the rest of the bottle. Now , what to do with the other two bottles?

Jay should compile a list of Peters great comments lol
Love it Jay! "I cannot agree with you Peter on one thing... they did not cover up their faults". 🤣🤣🤣
That was great lmao I replayed that part 10 times
Peter's passion when he talks shit about a wine is the best haha
Another great battle for our heroes! Thanks, guys for this immense sacrifice! Hope you'll get some hidden wine gems from around the world, and also some less well-known grape varieties!
I not only come for the wine education, but for the laughter is contagious.
Peter is spot on. It is never just sweet. We always love acidity too, even in Sauternes, Muscat, Trockenbeerenauslese, etc.

Favorites wine channel on UA-cam, I can tell you guys are professionals. Very funny as well!
Great sharing. I still remember that I brought a california Chardonnay to a gathering, and nobody drinks it. I understand why... It's sweet

Point taken “looking for simple happy wine, look for simple grapes like pinot grigio, sylvaner, albariño etc
I used to watch baseball. Now I watch wineking wine tasting videos. Way more entertaining!
15:34 the anger and disappointment at the same time... That's true honesty.

Textbook Chardonnay
A big tasting of 15-20$ wines would be nice. There are a lot of shit in that price class but also some really good value wines. Both red and white.
Would love to see some tasting of Trader Joe's wines!

Those plants behind them must be hammered 24/7
This show is always so fun to watch and educational at the same time I love it.
What's next? Rose? Bubbles?... Or better, why not generous wines, I want to know what peter thinks about some Port or Madeira
At that price range I believe you can get Casablanca, Limarí or coastal Cachapoal. Good places for White wines from Chile. (And without fake oak). Cheers 🍷
The comment from Peter after 15:36 “it’s the breeze, like a stale fart” got me 💀
Jay, you should taste by appellation. Example, Amador or Sierra Foothills are making some of the best wines and have many varietal choices. Paso etc...
Try to do a blind tasting with less typical grape varieties, would be great fun.

First time i seen Jay suffering more than Peter. Peter was trying really hard to be positive... well done

give peter some real sweet wines, sauterne, muscat, auslese & tokay
Man as an italian I really can’t believe there is so little quality in cheap wines from new world. Here in italy inexpensive under 10 euro wines are still perfectly drinkable.
8:15 I can see the kind of anger in his fingers flipping that page. lol. I feel like even I have to apologize for you to drink those Chardonnay! Sorry Peter!
Winking Owl is a Gallo Family wine. Must be why the least worst two were from the same producer. Thanks for torturing your palate to save mine!
You definitely should try out the Russian wine. Usadba Divnomorskoe, Gai-Kadzor, Myskhako. That's just a few of really interesting wines
2020 Chard for me was Fat Monk from GO for $3.99. 2021 it’s Pra Vinera for $5.99.
When I didn’t know much about wine I thought I liked Chablis, but I hated Chardonnay!
Try Three Wishes from Whole Foods. Only $2.99 and better than any chardonnay you'll find for 5x as much.
Well I bought 4 bottles of petit chablis for $8 each a few months ago, I wish I got more lol
Great vid, very funny. What did Peter end up opening?!!!
I would like to see a video of wine you guys like at a reasonable price point. Maybe something like a Chardonnay at what price point should I be expecting a nice wine. Same thing for other varietals.
Hi ! i love your channel i really like knowledge and sense of humour you guys have. can you do a chenin blanc episode please? thanks !!

why you never go for a blind tasting of sweet wine from the world? i think it will be super usefull
The Chateau Ste Michelle chard would have been a good option here. It is usually less than $9 and prob a lot better than those picked for this vid
I wonder what was that really really REALLY GOOD red wine😛
"it's the The Breeze.. Like a stale FART!" excellent notes
Can you do a show where you go into total wine and buy wines listed as 93 or better by the rating groups?
What red did you drink post-tasting!?
Oak is where many otherwise decent wines go to die.

tbh i relaly enjoed that episode but im DYNIN to know what bottle ofred the wifey opened for you guys :D
