The making of was really interesting but honestly seeing the dates on that graving being only ten years was kind of an emotional punch to the gut.
The men that do the engraving really do a really superb job. You get your money worth.

So I asked a question about what was he doing to the head stone in the room a couple of days ago? After doing more research I figured out he was sandblasted the stencil for the lettering. Is the laser not able to take care of the whole job or will we have to outsource the sandblasting part of the job?
Hi Alex! You can laser the die completely. For this particular job, the customer requested sandblast lettering.
What were they doing to the head stone in the dark room? What was the thing moving up and down?
I believe they were sand blasting the names and dates into the stone.
How do you get the color in there like that and will it last
Hi there! We have an actual artist come in and paint it and it should last quite a bit but touch-up may be necessary.

@@APLazer that is just insane! Heor she does a fantastic job.... bet that's one time consuming grave marker from start to finish. Making headstones is something I am really interested in starting to do. We have a few co2 lasers already and a cnc router and cnc plasma also... surely we could come up with some neat stuff lol

Still trying to figure out how they added color
When working with granite, you simply use paint to fill the engraving.
Is the color hand painted?
Yes, this monument was colored by hand.
How do you add color to the tombstone ?
It is hand painted on top of the laser etch.

Why not use pins or dowels between base and headstone? it will be such a shame for such beautiful headstone to tip over in few years because stainless steel dowels were not installed to secure it to the base. glue/adhesive will crack in few years. Very common problem here in Florida and its really sad to see headstones about to tip over.
