It's Eliot from NYC. Hope all is well. My late brother Larry who was also a big Beatle collector. He was at The Concert For Bangla Desh at Madison Square Garden. He was also at the One to One Concert with John Lennon at Madison Square Garden. He was also at the George Harrison 1974 Dark Horse Tour at Nassau Colisseum in Hempstead, Long Island, New York. As for myself, I was at the Bob Dylan Anniversary show with special Guest George Harrison at Madison Square Garden. I've been to a lot of other Beatle related shows, but will save that info for other videos. Cheers!
Hi Eliot, Not too bad here my friend! Sounds like your late big Bro was a very lucky guy going to those shows , he clearly loved the fabs! Wasn’t Roger Mcguinn at the Bob Dylan anniversary concert , maybe Crosby’s& Hillman too from memory! Thanks for watching, stay well!
Hi, Dave. First off, thanks for the comments on the weekly question. I don't have this album set but I have the Concert for George where I've heard some of the tracks on the Bangladesh for the first time, like Wah Wah. Have to say the Bangladesh concert has some wonderful tracks. George was able to recruit some great musicians to play these great tunes. Wondering if Dylan sang Tambourine Man. I think I need to look for this concert on DVD/Blu-ray and keep my eye open for the album. Once again your set here is in fabulous shape. Wondering if you're headed to Liverpool next week. Cheers, bud.
Hi Dave, thanks for the shout out. This was the first box set I ever owned as a 14 year old. It also introduced me to a lifelong love of Dylan!! Looking forward to The Rutles episode. Stay well 👍
Hi Marc, No problem! A fantastic set of a fabulous concert! Makes you wonder what would have happened if Dylan hadn’t have turned up? I guess they had a few other tracks to perform! I think you gonna Love The Rutles episode! Thanks for watching, stay well !
Hello Dave, Wow !!! That orange really pops on that box and the labels. My old UK copy has had too much light I guess 😂 Yes, it’s very sad that so much money never made it to the people who needed it, but a noble gesture by George. nevertheless. And great advice to new collectors about getting a lower grade copy instead of waiting for a long time for a better one 👍Great show as always my friend ! Hope you’re doing well !
Hi Nick, Not too bad here my friend! They were definitely incredibly bright and lucid, i I should have worn sunglasses, Lol ! Yes I think it’s always better to have a rare lesser grade item than not ! Thanks for watching!
Yet another great one and so impressed your box is not split! Great collection not even bubbles on your 8 tracks! You are right all the musicians waived their performance fee but Ravi took his. Hmmm. Also thank you for unlocking the mystery of why double records and triple records were numbered their sides that way. Side one/side four etc. I always wanted to know why they were like that and now I know. My Jesus Christ Superstar album now makes sense! Love from Los Angeles.
Hi John, Man , I’m astounded that Ravi took his fee when it was practically his idea to ask George who got it all together, that’s disturbing! No problem, glad to have helped! Back at you from the south west of the U.K. (Dorset)! Stay well!
Hi Dave. Great to see you mate and I am a bit behind on all of my videos to watch:)!!! This is a great video you did, and I did enjoy all that you had to show for this on and wow just so cool to have been at the Concrete!!!!! Ok :) I do have a question for you.... So, Y the Beatles lol. I do get it, but I do wasn't to her what you have to say mate:)!!!! You have some great info all of this!!! I sure do love the UK pressings. + an 8 track :) well done you!!!! The Concert that George did sure is a head of its time. Now people don't think anything about a benefit concert. Take care and have a great week mate!!!!
Hi Mate, Can relate to that , I’m just so busy at the minute with work , hardly any time to do anything for myself ! I absolutely love the concert for Bangladesh , such a great bunch of performers performing sone great songs and all very quickly put together! You know I love an 8 track or 2 LOL ! Thanks for watching mate , I’ll catch up with your videos soon ! Stay well!
Hi Dave. You know for some reason I didn't care for this one ... For Years!! And win the new one came out it did spark off a new love for this Album :)!!! I just found it not that great lol. WOW me right mate. Well, I am off, and I sure do hope that you don't work too hard!!! Stay well and I will see you later cheers mate!!!!
Dave My Friend how are you today, this video is awesome, George’s concert for Bangladesh , is a masterpiece , have to get this, Dave your collection of George is fantastic, My Friend TakeCare, BeSafe, have a great day, Steve. What ish I could have seen George’s concert, and the fantastic one to one, John Lennon I wish I could have, what could have been?
Hi Steve, All good here my friend! You’ve gotta love the concert for Bangladesh, such a great concert with a fabulous line up! Glad your enjoying my collection, it’s just the tip of the iceberg! Thanks for watching my friend, stay well!
Excellent !!! thanks for the shout out. I just want to let you know that your US copy of Bangladesh box set is not a first pressing. Your copy came out in 1975 and it is rare variation with all rights reserved printing on the label. First pressings did not have this disclaimer and the box orange on the inside just like the uk. I would have posted this sooner, bu beloved Mom died this pass Tuesday and i have been myself lately, thanks again for the shout and keep it coming!!!!!
Hi Robert, Firstly very sorry to here of your mother’s passing , very sad indeed for you and very understandable that your not yourself at present.Always think of happy times with her which will help you through the low moments! Ahh thanks for the info on the Bangladesh album , I’m not totally up on the USA editions so always good to have some guidance. But it also means I’ve gotta find another USA first Pressing! Thanks for watching and stay well!
In America, the 8-Track (and I’m assuming the cassette as well) release wasn’t through Capitol, but CBS - as Bob Dylan appeared on the album. It still bore the Apple labels.
I did recently spot a copy of this at my local record store, but I'm honestly not interested in the solo stuff. Nonetheless, a great video Dave! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Hey B.Dave, How are ya getting along; hope well. A great video for a great event, for sure. Hard believing there wasn't another large benefit show' till Live Aid concert, yeah. Still got my original,& got the reissued film , dvd a few yr.s ago. Do you recall if Rita Coolidge was one the back up singers? She lives not far from brother, N.Florida. And Leon Russel, man- used to play knoxville frequently. Saw probably 3 great shows he did. Have yourself a Super holiday!! Hope to do same as soon as get that new home; our market here, for that has been Crazy& very difficult- they want you to have a quarter million bucks or so, or very close to it, before you can get a house& land. Do hope is better in England. 👋 bye
Hi Mike, Not too bad here at the moment! Such a great concert and collection of musicians , love watching the movie and really loved Leon! Great that you’ve seen him several times ,would have loved to have seen Leon in Concert! Thanks my friend, yea make sure you get sone R&R too! In the U.K. it’s not quite as difficult to get a house provided you can obviously afford payments for a mortgage etc! Stay well my friend!
Great video as always!! Brilliant stuff in this video! I am still astounded by your massive collection Stay well! ❤ P.S: Enjoy the convention this year, too!
Hi Zack, Thanks mate , glad your enjoying the fab stuff! Sadly , might not be going to the Liverpool convention for the first time in 39 years , as our hotel was cancelled last Wednesday and it’s looking a bit bleak as to finding another suitable ! Stay well!
Hi James, Thanks my friend, glad you enjoyed! It’s looking bleak with Beatle week as our reservation for our hotel was cancelled last Wednesday, but not giving up just yet! Stay well!
Hi Dave, Hope you're well. Good question you had this week. That's the thing with collecting. The better condition the item, the more expensive it is. George had a good selection of artists on this concert. Loved the way the donations were put in a guitar case. Take care and have a good break. See you back in September 🙂
Hi Sarah, Yes was a good question and sadly one has to learn the hard way when collecting aa you never know when you’ll see a particular item again! Absolutely love the Concert for Bangladesh, one of my favourites! See you soon although there is a special surprise video this Saturday!
