I never noticed till now but you can tell Doakes has the same feeling about Brian that he does about Dexter on first meeting him....Doakes intuition is fucking nuts.
sucks they got rid of him so fast.....
Doakes should've killed lila so s3 could've been doakes vs dexter@@Krampus5150
2:55 Dexter just had a head tossed at him and is grinning and giving a thumbs up... LOL Doakes was probably thinking "Fkng psycho"
They should have had them working together some how.
@@jonathanlankford39lol
Dexter was absolutely the worst at concealing he was fucked in the head. His crazy little smile kind of gives away his enjoyment of everything.
Every second forensic expert character from TV acts like that. That's a half of their personality being nonchalant and excited about their job
Mesuka, the bald asian guy, also acts weird and happy around dead bodies. But we get this whole "Oh, that's just how he is. He's a little weirdo." Maybe he's secretly the worst one of them all. 🤔
Should’ve faked an autism diagnosis so his weird “quirks” would be shrugged off as that
“It’s so overt, it’s covert”
@@ollievendor7413 I like the idea that Mesuka being a crazy pervert is just his cover in the same way that Dexter tries to be a family man as a cover.
You can truly see in the last part the emotional connection between them, and how hard it is for Dexter to cut it... Because he really loves his brother and knows he's right
This was so cruel on Deb. She suffered unbelievably through out the series and never had any relief of her torment.
🍬
isn't she the chick from firefly/serenity?
Sadly the only relief she had was when Dex turned off her life support. Things just didn't go her way.
There was a time when Dexter was peak television. What they did with the ending and a couple of other seasons was tragic writing.
Killing Deb off and him running away was fucking dumb
it has to end
I always thought this show has shitty writing. The actors are good but the direction is horrible. Also it has zero fucking exposition because the characters are constantly telling what they are thinking or feeling, so they treat the audience like idiots. It´s a decent show the first 3 seasons, and the actors are great but everything else is mediocre and looks cheap.
For sure remember friend recommending this saying its not what you think it is . Boy was he right first episode had me hooked off the twist lol last two seasons was crap should have ended with dexter continuing the hunt of bad guys and probably revealing to his sister his mission. But him leaving the country to not compromise her integrity.
@ImNotLuthien Well, the average American viewer is an idiot if we’re being honest. I’m an American, but not an idiot.
peak Dexter
This season was just perfect
The best season by far, it even works as a miniseries
@@CabezasDePescadoEXACTLY!!!! If it was a long movie it probably would’ve been my fav movie of all time !!! ❤
Should have been the last season
The first season was based on a book called "Darkly Dreaming Dexter" by Jeff Lindsay. It had a blueprint to follow. That's why it's so good and later seasons weren't.
4 clears all
Just finished reading the 1st 2 books and watching the 1st 3 seasons. Currently in the 4th season
I have not read any of them but I have heard the books after the first arent amazing, so that's not a great standard. I think Dexter 1-4 are great, so I disagree with your thesis.
@@Pat4ever. Don't go by public opinion, the books are quite entertaining, and are very different than the series
@@sattwikghoshclass12section19 Though isn't there more sex in the books? Or am I wrong? There's more in the show in comparison, right?
Brian Moser spinoff would be so cool
Season 1 was something nostalgic.
The phones, the computers, even the Architecture..
14:00 Honestly such a great scene. Spoilers; The hints Rudy drops and the clue that makes it clear what did it as well as the tidbit that no one outside those on scene would know about, the electric socket being used.
We need dexter on Netflix
It already is
I started watching it on Netflix yesterday
@@void6129not in the us
It use to be on US Netflix. Good show
It's on UK Netflix at the moment if that helps.
Now we need a timeline of the “Bay Harbour Butcher” investigation.
The only change I would make to the series is dexter starting out as more amateur and gradually becoming better with each kill. Possibly even taking lessons from the big bads of each episode. Like learning how to leave no blood trace from the ice truck killer. And so on. Kind of like megaman who gains the ability of the boss he defeats.
It's explained in the show that he has an extensive background in training from his dad and his first few kills were sloppy. When we see him in the show he's already killed numerous people and has had time to get his technique down. I do agree though it would've been neat to see a more amateur Dexter that had to find his way through his "Dark Passenger" alone without help from his dad.
The book did go into it. Dexter's first kill was the nurse who killed his foster father. It was super messy cuz he didn't know the in-and-out of the business. His foster dad did show him how to avoid detection from the police, but aside from that he had to learn how to keep his work "clean".
It kinda does though. Every time he deviates from the rules he suffered of it but we see he is struggling to be a normal person. He learns to love, care etc. all the human emotions. At the end, he even learns how to control his urges. So his story goes from amateur to professional, not for being a killer but for being a human.
The first season was so good.
This show was so deranged. The weird thing is that the brother-sister dynamic seems kind of functional if you pretend Dexter just works against crime. 🤷♂️
my first thoughts when I watched this show. It romanticizes murder way too often
Just watch the first few seasons and ignore the rest.
Some of the best "old school" TV youll ever watch.
Yeah, Mesa believes that stupid Series 8 ending doesn’t happen. US Marshal isn’t overpowered, gets the arrest and Dex/Katrina get to Argentina, Deb lives on as Detective.
Been forever since I watched Dexter, but how did his brother know how to prepare Deb like Dexter prepares his victims
probably watched him when he chopped up a guy in a trailer, he later went out of his way and dived under the water to get the body parts and to place them for police to see
A way to watch THE SHOW Dexter fast with ZERO fillers?
THANK YOU!!!
Childhood memories of Dexter!
Best show ever!
More compilations, please!
More Music on Television, please!
I'm no genius but I remember seeing Rudy for the first time and the whole prosthetic thing made it so obvious I suspected him from the beginning.
Do a timeline on the barrel girls' case ???
Hey dexter peeps, i appreciate you guys posting on the channel the last couple months.. any thoughts on doing dexter trivia shorts? I would definitely rock that! ❤
Fun idea! Noted
Eeee!!!! I love it when you guys respond! Hit us up with the trivia!
Someone will disagree with what I am about to say but I don't particularly care; dexter kind of was the good guy( in the beginning) and the writers should have kept him that way concerning how he stuck to his father's code of going after bad people only; he could have ignored that and went after anyone he wanted at any time, he could have given in to the temptation of killing the security guard his brother had laid before him at the abandoned hospital or his sister at their childhood home but he chose to follow his father's rules despite his own issues with him because deep down he really didn't want to hurt innocent people and season after season was showing him striving to be a better person and was achieving that slowly especially with lumen in season 5 and brother sam in season 6, Hannah in season 7 Was the worst character ever thought of for her corruptive influence is what brought down Dexter's Integrity and ruined him from being the lovable and honorable character we all know from the books and earlier seasons,
the show's 2 endings was I feel very disappointing because they wrote it and his character all wrong for he wouldn't have given in to his grief over the loss of his sister to where he would abandon his own son, sure he would be at his lowest for a minute but he would pull himself together and remember the promise he made to deb of how he would always be there for harrison no matter what and you can't sit there and convince me that a small town sheriff like his girlfriend angela would be able to bust a notorious killer like Dexter based on circumstantial evidence not to mention the tranquilizer formula is not the same; he never used kenimine on his targets he used M99,
The writers should have continued adapting his story from the novels for they had tons of potential of doing and successfully pulling off a reverse breaking bad and the blacklist with the character, turning him into his very own sophisticated concierge of crime fighting with a vast network of resources at his disposal to help him hunt those that escape justice while keeping him 2 steps ahead of the people he works for in law enforcement who feels and views himself as the "the bad guy" that doesn't believe he can change but doesn't want to disappoint his father, his best friend angel, his wife, kids and sister by giving up trying with case after case and ultimate showdowns with the main antagonist of the season pushing him further and further down the path of being a honorable, righteous and semi-heroic individual with new blood being his swan song where he sacrifices himself to save his son, his son's girlfriend along with his own girlfriend from Kurt Caldwell, his son and the billionaire character they had in there that was serving as a red herring, have it where he had a connection to kurt and was involved somehow in covering up his secret of being the runaway killer and Dexter dying ending their threat once and for all thus earning his redemption which brings his story arc full circle with him ultimately breaking good,
As for doakes the most annoying thing about him was his hypocritical attitude towards dexter when he tried to get him in trouble for just doing his job as a blood spatter specialist after he in an act of revenge shot dead a former death squad operative who was unarmed and tried to cover it up with lies which put his partner angel batista in a very uncomfortable situation of possibly turning him in to be arrested by IA until he was given a pass by the government,
It should have been written and adapted according to the way it worked out in the books where they worked together to take down a cartel leader and doakes was severely maimed by the main antagonist dr danco to where he lost his legs and arms and tongue as a consequence for killing in cold blood that death squad operative who just so happened to be related to the villain, dexter tries to save him despite him knowing his secret but fails, he goes into a comma and dies later on in the 3rd season but Is revered as a hero cop and posthumously awarded a medal for risking his life to bring down dr danko who gets framed by Dexter as the Bay Harbor butcher,
the same scenario can be applied but altered to the character Maria Laguerta, have the consequences of her actions in season 2 befall her in season 7 by having esme come back for revenge on laguerta for ruining her career by using her secret connections to the criminal underworld to frame her and make her look as if she's losing her mind like what laguerta did to her by sleeping with her boyfriend and have it where Debra is the one that tries to save her but fails with season 8 being the final season that deals with the fallout of that event and Dexter being the loving caring brother that he's been towards her trying to help her overcome the grief of laguerta's death all while dealing with the reign of terror from the brain surgeon, I say all of that to say that joe from the show YOU doesn't hold a candle to dexter and that dexter would have that despicable man for breakfast, lunch and dinner to feed the very jackels he came from! 🔥😁😉👍
Stop spamming, jeez!
@@musical_lolu4811 I put the comment up for different people to gauge their opinions from them that's all! Lol
O
Not reading allat
chatGPT is cool.
"he lost a piece of himself, I help him find it." Gee his internal monologue must be nightmare fuel compared to Dex's
Easily my fav season of dexter ! I love this series soooo much ❤❤❤❤
To me the first 2 seasons is how the show should of ended
Wait, the truck threw a head a dexter and the streets weren't flooded with cops?
More uploads, please!
@paramountnetwork hello!!!! Funny seeing you here!
Do you think you’ll do a timeline for Lila West.
Noted
Why does this make me oddly hungry. 😂😂
Have you seen his Episode entry…
I wish we had a new dexter series unrelated to this dexter show.. as much as I love dexter and the icon it was of course I was disappointed by the ending but then again I could talk about it over and over again but I want to see dexter in college and without Miami metro. We saw some of his youth with flash blacks but I want to see that time. Or just really more good dexter. Thank you 😂
Brian Moser spin-off
13:00 doakes bro
Does anyone know if in the books if Doakes is so short lived too?
I watch this while eating am i normal?
🤣🤣🤣
It shouldn't feel as bad as it does.
2:45 And he didnt follow the Icetruck?!?!?!
Right?? Like, the head isn’t going anywhere lol
i need to know who’s playing dexter in origins
Tom holland 🗿
They shouldn’t have started with the ice truck killer. It was the best and all downhill from there 😢
Fix Dexter New Blood ending please
You just gonna keep commenting that on every video
🤫🤫
So true. I mean that with the new Blood ending
They cant fix it cause the last seasons were already too bad to be fixed.
If he just told Dexter from the start who he was and isn't try to kill her everything would of been fine
If i am not mistaken this was an hbo show or my be it was show time either way it was a great show
Showtime!
Dang some of these comments are just mean
I believe that weirdo is the killer ever since he said he studied the human form n sense then he keeps dropping hints
Sensibilities of society as a collective change with time, I reckon. It does seem cornier now, that's interesting.
Plus there's been some shows since that have moved the bar much higher. Not many, mind you, but some.
It's funny how hokey it feels now.
Thanos fingertips
The first season was the best
Why can't I save this to watch later?
I wish these two could have gotten along better. Brian should have let go of the kill Debra thing and Dexter should have given Brian a second chance.
My guy Brian killed and/or mutilated half a dozen innocent people
Its impossible to remove all the muscle and tissues from the bone, and to even wighten it like this.
For real?
@@void6129 yeah. The tendons especially can be really stuck, and to remove them without damaging the tissue near it is basically impossible. And even if someone could manage a way to do that, it would take months to get a bone that is that white. But maybe the bone is yellow and disgusting and it has been painted on. And thats possibile because a real bone doesnt look like this lol
Diet Hannibal/Red Dragon.
Not even, Flat hot diet soda that's been sitting out in the car all month in July.
Shit so corny
Ehhh, if you actually watch the whole show it’s not too bad
A reminder of how corny it all was and how much time I wasted.
Such a bland show, and about a killer... Couldn't even finish the first season it was so boring.
Hannibal on the other hand was fantastic, the acting, the writing, the characters.
This show feels like skim milk compared to butter.
Nobody cares
Well in that case Danny lemme put it in the open for you , no matter how much u like hannibal how much u like the writing we still dont give a fuckk
Michael C Hall looks like a homeless Tom Brady that is angry and constipated.
And they wonder why we got psychos out there
...glorifying this crap 😂😂😂
